This guy has got be my favorite character in Brexit season 3. I hardly noticed him in seasons one and two but the writers have really stepped it up and developed the speaker of the house as a central figure. I hope he has a central roll in the plot for season 4.

In Germany, established politicians who are voted out of office usually end up with posts on multiple supervisory boards of large corporations or are hired as speakers for up to €25k per evening. The point I was making was simply that someone with Bercow's skillset could have chosen to make a truly ridiculous amount of money in a leadership/executive position outside of politics yet accepts a public servant salary that is really quite low in relation to the responsbility of the position.

Very few, if any, male politicians in the UK seem to use hairspray. By contrast, the vast majority of US politicians are chauffeured in to work, and enter Congress from large underground 'parking lots' (car parks). US male politicians' hair is invariably well-coiffed by 'image consultants', and many/most US male politicians regularly use hairspray!
