Hi Lucy, I had to come find this, your last multi instrumental bit on here anyway as i had a sudden thought.
You ought to have a 4 string tenor banjo. It's tuned like a viola; you already know how to play it! Would have to set it on some sort of stand to combine with accordion. Just thought of that: you can play tenor banjo!🎵🎶🎵🌺

Hi Lucy!...great vid as always,... couple of questions tho,... my dad and I watch your videos,... he thinks you're playing all these by memory,.. I told him I think you have some sheet music off to the side just to glance at it thru the song,. which is it?
another question,.. how long do you practice in a day? seems to me as good as you are, you must be practicing at least 3 hours a day..
last question,.. your hands seem so relaxed on the keys, how do you do this,,...me doing that is just another thing to think about while playing!

Hey Pat! Good questions. I play from memory in almost all my videos. The only exception was 31 Days of Oktoberfest because I couldn't memorise a new song every day so I had the music to read behind the camera!
I work long hours at my day job (12 hours, 3-4 days a week) so a lot of days I don't practise at all. But when I have a good day and my mind is clear, like today, I can go 5 hours! (that's rare though)
You need to do lots and lots of scales and arpeggios up and down the keyboard so that your hand feels at home and relaxed! LOTS AND LOTS! It might not seem fun or very musical but its lays the foundation for great technique.

@@accordionlucy 5 hours!!!! holy crap! I'm lucky if I can get in 1 hour, much less 5!... I'm going to try to do some of the things you suggested to "relax" the fingers on they keys, my teacher told me one of the things I could do is speed drills that are on the pages of my lesson book before some songs. Thanks for possibly playing blue danube( long version) or La cucaracha! I can't wait to hear either one of them! Oh,.. before I forget,.. I purchased the Musette melodian song book, since I know you like the songs on that book, I decided to give it a try. I"m just looking at the songs now, looks kinda tough, but I'm up for a good challenge. I'll let you know how it's going with learning it.
