I cannot believe a bunch of modders can make a nice handling model and a whole ass studio can't.
I played it myself, this handling is not even close to good, cars just spin out by tapping the throttle a bit and understeer like crazy
@@thezig2078 You probably either didn't build the car right, didn't tune the car right, or you're bad at driving. I played it myself, it's tough to get used to but a joy once you figure it out. Live tuning matters a lot, Racing Lines matter a lot, breaking before a corner matters a lot.

The studio probably made their handling unrealistic so that bad drivers don't get punished by losing control, and therefore be less likely to quit out of frustration

@@thezig2078 this one is more of a real sim(ulator) kind of mod. You need to figure out on how to tune your car the way you want it to be. It's like asetto corsa, it's very fun once you get the hang of it
NFS Heat looks absolutely beautiful with Unite 3.0
NFS Heat on PC should have looked like this at launch.
The new graphics reminds me of NFS 2015 on PC.

Wouldnt work. Kinda ruins the vibe ghost was going for with a very aesthetically and color filled splash page. Also the fact that they need to optimize the game for console players too and I doubt they would do all that for one version.
@@z-chan946 Look at 0:37 and similar scenes. I was talking about these shadows that the PC version of NFS 2015 also featured. I was initially disappointed that NFS Heat's PC version during nighttime looked worse than 2015's PC version due to a lack of these shadows (these shadows helped NFS 2015 on PC look borderline photorealistic). But thanks to Unite 3.0, now NFS Heat looks better than every NFS (until 2019) during night.
Console versions cannot look this good due to weaker hardware than a modern PC.
@@TigerChamp99 maybe but you have to consider that consoles out perform pc with that weaker hardware because a console generates way more performance with less power that a pc with the same lvl of hardware would be able to do because a pc with that same lvl of hardware would suck big time

Fun fact: The creators of the handling overhaul pretty much turned Heat into Assetto Corsa with the simcade version of the mod, due to the tires using the same values as in AC.
Also blame Yorpie for the cops. xD
The mod isn't better because the modders have 'passion', it's just that the original devs are under the thumb of EA who wants a game to be accessible to the audience market as possible. They don't have a choice and the devs likely hate the stock handling as well but the core audience for the game are likely just kids who want to throw their cars around anywhere.
I'm willing to bet there are serious carguys working on these games who simply have a schedule and outline to follow.
I mean Heat didn't even do that right. Like you have to equip your car with some smorgasbord of parts (that aren't just strictly drift parts as you'd expect) just to kind of get a car to drift properly. Drifting in vanilla Heat really isn't accessible to a casual player.
finally a good take on this. I really dislike when people diss the developers, or call them "passionless", when that's so obviously far from the truth.
But the old nfs games were popular with kids and horizon games are popular with kids.

to be fair, sometimes developer makes it more playable to anyone, so they really really cant please everyone

finally a handling style in a modern Need For Speed game I can get behind, Heat may be worth playing now, I didn't like how easy brake to drift was but the way that Evo slides around corners in this mod makes me want to give it a try

It's amazing how the community can create better stuff than the actual depolvers with just a few months

Just ask any of Project Unite's devs about how they made their mods for 2015 and Heat and they'll tell you how different every game is. This mod also took them almost 2 years to perfect, and it started as an off-shoot of GZilla's Heat +, iirc.
Heat with the simcade handling overhaul is fun. It blew my mind.
Man for the first time after NFS Carbon, i like a gameplay of NFS!!! I really dream of the devs looking into this and removing the so unrealist physic with the need to drift almost every corner... The physics on this mod (as well on the older NFS's) are so much better, with a proper car handling!! As Kuru said, you have to do the racing line!!!

handling really will make me install this mod because i really missed having to actually put effort into properly approaching turns and really driving properly
Simulation handling is easier than arcade because professional racers in real life show us the best examples of how to corner. In arcade games, you have to try and figure it out from scratch.
I just downloaded it for NFS 2015 and damn.... completely different game. The handling mod is just brilliant.

This is probably what everyone wants in the next nfs. Not some burnout handling, but a bit more challenging handling where you have to take racing lines and get better at handling the car. Basically, handling like MW, Carbon, Prostreet, The Run, Underground.

I actually am interested in this. This actually convinced me to build a PC and maybe get a sim rig.
I recommend you getting into games like assetto Corsa or Iracing, if u planning to get a sim rig

You don´t really need a sim rig for NFS Heat, the game was designed with controllers in mind.
@@dudocaine sure, but this is also a mod that changes the physics. I'm sure it's probably extra, but if I'm getting one for Forza, Asseto, etc., might as well try it out on NFS Heat Unite
I actually tried realistic handling on my controller (sold my crappy steering wheel a while ago) and honestly I kept spinning out on my 180SX so much I switched to their overhauled arcade handling. Do keep in mind I played a lot of ProStreet with all assists turned off and somehow never spun out as much as I did in Unite with simcade handling

As much as I like Vanilla Heat, Unite 3.0 really bring new light to Heat with the amount of changes and content the Unite team added.

With this mod Heat FINALLY looks playable.

The thing about "comunity has better develops than NFS dev team" is totally wrong tbh, the devs just follow what they are suposed to do, what the project manager tell them to do, they dont come up with handlings and stuff, they make something based on what the PM told them to do and its marked on the project backlog, and somebody tests and approves, i mean the unite mod dev are aweosme, maybe they are really better than EA devs, but the problem with the game being bad is not devs fault, its a hole team fault tbh (QA's, PM's, DEV's, AGILITIES MASTERS, etc...)

I remember playing this mission where you drive the camaro and there was dialog about how it isn't repairable but I had fuel station fixes so I basically fixed the car for free. It defenitely made me feel safer even though I avoided the cops. When I think about it - are they just scripted to be easier? Whatever I just feel like I shouldn't have been able to fix the car
They definitely made it so cops didnt find you, and most likely overlooked that you could fix it

This shit makes me sad tbh. All the things NFS was and still could be, but they're too busy being awful Burnout rip offs without any of the awesomeness of ACTUAL Burnout :/ And to top it off we aren't getting Burnout games anymore because of this shit too so it's a double loss... so frustrating.

I've played it for a while. Drifting in this mod is my favorite thing that i can do all day. When in vanilla i've really hate it. But in normal racing some cars have too much understeering. For example my M3 E92 beats 488 Italia that was supposted to be an upgrade from BMW. The BMW is able to do corners much faster. Am i doing something wrong or what?
does modified handling affect multiplayer gameplay?, in perspective of console player when his friend on PC with this mod and the console player ask his friend on PC with this mod "why you're driving really fast my game can't even do that" (referring to the speed limit)

Unite is exactly what I'd expect from Heat if they put more into it and made it complete, the only thing I'm disappointed in, and I'm only mildly disappointed, is that the devs of this mod dropped the realistic lowbeams headlight beams and patterns that come in NFS Heat, I do wish they either kept that, or made it even more realistic, but other than that, I can't believe NFS Heat came out in the state that it did, these modifications make Heat absolutely amazing!

This mod is great but the plot of heat simply recoils, oh and the characters. God why can't they make nfs without a plot instead they trying to repeat the success of MW which is plot was Uh to say the least just decent.
The plot in MW works because they don’t take it too seriously imo.
So this mod might be the only way to have fun with this game. I am actually considering to buy this game.
As much as I like break to drift physics, they don't really work in a game like Heat where the emphasis is on car customisation and street racing. Burnout, HP 2010 and MW2012 need it because they heavy rely on aggressive driving, bonuses and takedowns. Heat works much better when it's not trying to be Carbon and Hot Pursuit 2010 at the same time

Forza Horizon has the perfect arcade racing game handling imo.

@@MarksterC Well yes, Forza Horizon is very much an arcade racer, you can play it perfectly with a controller. It does however have a believable and authentic handling model, but not a realistic one.
