These wars are not even remotely comparable. The logistics are completely different. The US helped jihadists which later became the Taliban regularly during the soviet war and the Soviets were extended. Vietnam was supported by China, and there is no reason to think if Russia is in trouble, China will not help them. This war either potentially will lead to WW3 or another source of disaster. Anyway , if Ukraine remain in this wsr for a few more years, nothing will remain out of it. Not even enough manpower to rebuild it. Already population has almost become half.

@@armanicharles5336 Well, $60 bn for the USA is 0.2% of GDP. 15 trillion of rubles, that's 10% of the russian GDP. On a yearly basis, it's very clear that it's a minimal investment for one side and a huge one for the other.
Even more, Russia is still mostly relying on old soviet legacy stocks for tanks and artillery. At the current rate of attrition (so if the western powers like the US keep matching the russian expenditure), they should run out by the end of 2026, leaving them with only a few choices, among which spending way more to increase production at the start of 2025 to see result at the end of 2026, or losing the war of attrition.
Even if the war remained a stalemate for a few more years, it would quickly become unsustainable for Russia, handing the western powers and Ukraine a victory anyway. That is, if the ukrainian armed forces were to not achieve any major victory until then, like the capture of a city like Melitopol would be (tbh, Ukraine capturing Melitopol would probably be the beginning of the end of this war for Russia, as it would put a timer on the loss of Crimea for them).

And it's even more concerning for the russian side of things as those small advances are happening when they are at the peak of their power, holding as many advantages against their opponent as they ever will. The window of opportunity is closing, it's a matter of months...

Ukraine needs to give as much as it’s asking for in “give us what we need”. What they need is conscription.

@@Writeous0ne they have been used there is videos of them being used against Russians and they were used in civilian areas too, but I think most where destroyed as they came into Ukraine just like the depleted uranium shells sent by the UK

@@Writeous0ne They used them on the no-man's land back when the front lines were stabilized. Russia has already cleared paths through that. Can send Ukraine all the conventional weapons you'd like but without a lot more fresh and trained infantry they're going to continue to lose territory.

@@jlpowell51 Oh yeah i do recall them using them to try to attempt to clear minefields but it won't work, it will just put more ordinance in the minefield because cluster munitions are very common to not explode on impact and just lay around in the area... so they'll just have to go over the minefield that now has their own unexploded cluster munitions added on top lol...

Western media analyst kept saying Russia is running out of ammunition 😂😂😂 but reality is exactly the opposite. I don't think Putin was a fool when he invaded Ukraine. The guy planned the Operation to last even 50yrs. Plan A, B, C.... Russian are still in Plan A and are advancing 😂😂😂😂

Putin has been planning for this since 2014, and people think he made a mistake to invade Ukraine, i really laugh when i hear that. truly this war can last forever, but not so much cause Kyiv men are rapidly depleting.

I think they broke the Ukrainian morale and will to fight at Avdiivka it seems. The war has been turned on its head in 1 year since the Wagner's siege of Bakhmut. Ukrainians just may have their bubbles burst with that Russian vicrory, sometimes a grand strategy is not needed to break the will of your opponent. A mere small victory but of strategic importance can do the trick across all the fronts
