just because they are inmates doesn’t mean they’re bad people
Constellations yeah lol
miss frizzle Very true. I been a Corrections Officer for over 20 yrs, and that is def true.
Actually, most are good people, who just made not good choices
But so sad citizen still look down all of the. Because they are inmate
@Constellations year lol
Actually, the really bad ones that have been known to try to escape and shit usually don't get such privileges as working... supervised only by a single officer on an open field.
It could also be that they were the ones convicted of very minor crimes, and have maybe a couple months, a year left to serve. Obviously, none of them would try to attack him or escape knowing very well that if they get caught they will have to serve a far longer sentence than they ever deserved in the first place.
So. No the ones working in this video most definitely aren't bad people, but that doesn't mean all inmates are as good as them.
Inmate does not spell evil.
it spell inmate
At least for these guys, it does spell mate😊
Oh shit my bad. I thought it did. Silly me.
@@bobbehfirmino751 Yea..... silly you.....

It's funny how people think inmates no longer are human.
They're property of the state to profit on.
Judging by the work detail they have, these are probably some of the best behaved inmates in the place, the news has to spin it like it's amazing they didn't murder him and piss on his corpse. They can't even do a positive story without some level of fear mongering.
@@jimjambananaslam3596 Polk is a county jail, none of these guys have sentences of over 1 year most likely. if they did, they would be in a state prison.
This is absolutely amazing,
Prisoners outside prison doing work tidying up a cemetery,
The cemeteries in Ireland are in a disgraceful condition and could certainly do with this sort of detail,
Instead the prisoners get time off for behaving themselves in prison,
Which I think is ludicrous,
But I think what these prisoners did certainly deserves some kind of reward at least some time of their sentence,
The news didn’t say!!
These inmates were busted doing minor offenses and are humans. The ones who rape and murder are not and need to be killed.
They should all get a reduced sentence
Blue haired lawyer they did
I agree.
I imagine they did.
I bet that officer & warden done something for them in reducing some of their sentence.
This video alone will catch a DA or judge or another cop & they'll probably knock off some time ?
Agreed
CSX2665 how much shorter
People might make mistakes in their past, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be amazing people like these guys 💯💯💯💯
It’s not that they are evil, is that they made mistakes. It is a rare rare few that are evil. People just make mistakes, some out of total desperation... we are all human and their humanity shined.
They need a reduction of sentence. They did a good thing and showed signs of rehabilitation.
I agree. Unfortunately our system isnt about rehabilitation

@RedPanda796 As it should be.
Trust me I can truly tell you most guards are truly dicks and they're very mean had he been such an officer they would have said f*** it let him die of course they probably been charged with murder for not helping him
they’re all the inmates that have good records in the prison. the ones that they basically deem safe enough to go outside the walls from their behavior record.

@jeremiah Jones that's only how it works in prisons, county jails usually only use drug offenders for work details
@jeremiah Jones what?
My grandfather worked the road crew in Louisville Mississippi for 20 years. His crew always respected him like this. Just because you've made mistakes and gotten on the wrong side of the law doesn't by default make you a bad person. In the south respect is earned. This officer had clearly earned respect by showing it. Good stories like this are to rare.

The inmates that get these type of outdoor jobs are usually ones that the prison considers safe because they have behaved themselves for years. Still a touching story though.
Job implies they are getting paid
Oh really? Polk is a county jail which typically hold offenders with sentences under 1 year long. not a state jail holding all theses rapists and murders you think they are.
SUB jails also hold people who haven’t gone to trial yet, so they can be facing a range of charges from drug possession to murder. Dangerous inmates wouldn’t be put on this kind of work detail though.
@@AWOL401 you won't get work detail unless you have been convicted and placed, so stop talking about something you know nothing about.

My son-in-law has been a CO for four years and he deservedly earned this title. He is NOT a prison guard as so many people call these brave men and women. Somethin my mamma taught me growing up and this situation shows it well. "Good people can do bad things and bad people can do good things." Not all inmates are cruel and evil like some are sometimes they are just good people who did somethin bad that got them into that situation.
These are some good men right there, that's for dang sure, they coulda ran or hurt/killed the man if they wanted to given the situation but they stayed, got help and tried to make all the right decisions to save the officer's life.
They could’ve escaped but they didn’t what a group of men
Depends if you want to spend the rest of your life on the run or possibly receive a reduced sentence (this kind of thing does very well for an early release interview)
But then Im not a diehard criminal and couldnt let a man die like that either

Yes exactly, there’s some good in everybody. That statement means just what it says. Stop getting so butthurt just cause they are inmates. They are in prison cause they committed a crime, or several. No one ever said that they werent human. Calm down
She meaning like just because their inmates dosent mean they are bad people cause anybody could go to jail for anything like possession of weed or not going to your court date for a speeding ticket .... etc
That's the truth
@@ihitgrandslams7961 I agree with you, to an extent. But no single act defines a person, no matter how bad that act was. Now, if we're talking about a serial killer, a serial rapist, a serial child molester or someone like that, then yeah, there's no redeeming them. The fact that they did it over and over again and never learned their lesson or tried to change their ways shows they should spend the rest of their lives in a supermax prison or get the needle, depending on what they did. My policy on the death penalty though is that if there's no loss of life involved in the crime, then the death penalty is not considered.
That said, if we're talking about a single act, the person who did it is truly remorseful and wants to change their ways, I do believe those people can be redeemed. Sometimes they do change. Not all, or even most, of the time, mind you. It is possible, though. I'm living proof. I went to Juvie as a young teen for a crime I won't name here. Suffice it to say, it was bad, and leave it at that. I'm 34 now and haven't been in any sort of trouble since being released at 19. If I can change, so can others.
Too be honest true criminals that kill will never save a officer these who are doing time for breaking laws like drunk driving or abuse but realised what they done is wrong correction facility is for those who do petty crimes and had to do maybe a year if it was bad like maybe assaulting somone destruction of property those who can get a 2nd chance

Even if they had committed acts of violence in the past,(I have no idea if they had or not) they did not commit a violent act on the day in question. They weren't facing life. Maybe a few months to a few years. Why go on the run always looking over your shoulder, never being able to get a job or house, start a family and be free. Then be caught and add more years to your sentence.
Minty you definitely wouldn’t have
@@Psychebane not a few years. You won't get anything over a year in a country facility, so if any one of them have a whole year sentence, take away their "goodtime/worktime" they will only be serving a few months depending on the kick out they have in that county. People are always surprised that inmates are human beings who have the same range of emotions as the rest of us and the same ability for compassion because they have been stigmatized by society through the media, the vast majority of inmates aren't sociopaths!

Great job fellas! I worked as a road deputy, but often had multiple contacts with inmates in jail. They could've tried running but instead stayed and tried to save him. This shows that their hearts are in the right place.
I'd say a reduction in sentence is in order for these inmates that helped the officer. That should be a natural reaction by the judicial system. I know I am dreaming though and its not going to happen. To the courts that sentenced these inmates: If you are truly grateful for the inmates heroism, reduce their time.
those on work detail are what are considered "short timers"- those with little time left on their sentence. By the time the authorized person can make that decision (reduced time), most will, probably, be back on the street. If it is possible, I do think reduced time and recognition for their actions are in order. There have been similar situations, and the inmates were rewarded with reduced sentences. Who knows what doors that type recognition could open for those individuals.
