You're insane for doing this man. I used to consistently get +6 runs done on the early access builds but now I'm STRUGGLING with my first standard and hard clear, nearly done with basecamp upgrades too so definitely just a skill issue on my part
It felt the same for me until I unlocked most gadgets. Jetpack, grapple hook and double jump as so useful.
I feel the same, hsa it become slightly harder or is it just the reset?
Finishing the game on easy by myself definitely declared how difficult it was. I would have finished on hard mode but Iris is the bane of my existence with the laser beam attacks, some of them feel unavoidable on certain angles and they do massive damage.
I like the guardian class not bc of the shield I like the perks it has and makes the runs easy bc of the dps it does with the windmill rifle with shock it hard with damage boost
It gets a lot easier with gadgets and good powerups/weapons/crystals. The moon used to be brutal but now I can consistently clear guardian 4 all the way to Iris (and then get absolutely demolished during the 2nd phase lol).
Tbh I never even thought of the Rhys sphere/katagawa ball vibes from judgeball but they're so true.

I don’t mind that you’re prioritizing the gun in this. It would be less of a gun challenge if you were only throwing javelins

Just found your videos after picking up roboquest! It's making me excited to get better at it seeing the kind of challenge runs are on the table by the end.
Ranger is just too OP, I was doing a guardian +1 run with Shovel only for fun and ended up not using the shovel at all and went for spear spam because the damage was miniscule. But that might be because I didn't know it can have affixes put on it at Oasis so thanks for that information at 1:37 !
Quick tip: When doing shovel runs, invest in Headbonk damage as well as just shovel damage. I just completely cleared through the bosses with headbonks alone. Closest run I’ve done to beating Guardian 3 was with the shovel
from what I understand, unless you have guardian's reload grenade or something else that makes your reload speed really high or makes reloading vital to a build, hourglass will always give you more damage per second
I've been watching a lot of your videos lately, the gameplay is top-notch, but the other thing about your videos is that you have a great sense of story, and implement that with voice-overs, which is rare, I applaud you for this

Yo I enjoy the content, started playing this 2 months ago with a friend in another state and it's been a blast to unlock everything and power up.
When my friend and I finally beat Guardian IV we a made up a difficulty we called "Star Fox Run" where we only take the starting items ie; Shovel, Buddy bot, Fox Gun
I chose the ranger because crit damage and invisibility (I swear it has i-frames on start up but idk)
By Haven City I would have 5 javelins and remap my jav. throw to my left click (primary fire) and basically full send javelin damage. It works really well but i can't seem to survive it.
I need to learn how to get git because you make it look trivial.
I remember breezing past standard and Hero difficulties back in early access. Now? Lord Im always on my last limb in standard of all things. They really did make the game harder through a few tweaks. Amazing run with only Fox gun!!

I always learn cool little tricks and tech that I never would have even thought to try and learn. If you made a video going through how you do a typical run, the decisions you make, the tricks and tech you use and why then I’d 100% watch that

Jinxed Merphit does similar stuff, but in speedruns and theyre ridiculously good. you can definitely get some tips from him if youre struggling with a challenge

I completed guardian IV on S rank today. It was much easier than guardian ll and lll, maybe because I had a hard time adapting
I was wondering do know where the underpants are for that Big robot dude in Oasis in the Orange area?
Same area that I upgrade the pistol at.
Bring a buddy bot to the door behind the waterfall in the starting area of oasis and it unlocks the door inside is the underpants and the guy who upgrades the buddy bot, foxgun and shovel to legendary
If you go all in the spear you don’t need a primary at all for ranger. Explosive spear is crazy aoe and single target. And if you have enough cooldown perks/upgrades you can have constant stealth. (If there’s enemies to proc cooldown reduction)
The engineer build i use is cold drones with marking and 100% crit on anything frozen as well as the permanent frost and shock on all weapons so they are always getting slowed and stunned plus 65% damage as well as always critting it melts everything and bosses
what about a shovel run?

I haven't played in over a year, I know 1.0 just came out so I might play it again, the game used to feel... empty, has it improved in the last 1-2 years?
Now that I think about it, I'm not a fan of rogue like games, that's probably the biggest issue, oh well, what a shame, I really like the gameplay

In the second moon room you only solo killed 6 enemies with the pistol. Everything else with javelin. ( the 6 were drones)

Wouldn't recon be formidable for this? You could just rely on a melee build, you spend most of your time meleeing anyways, it's not like you'd need to weapon to fire, and considering havoc and the marking shot, it's still be a great perk to have.
That might be a bit much tho. Wouldn't really count as a starter weapon run, now would it?
I noticed you didnt pick up the stool, did you know you can crouch while jetpacking and still get the extra bonus damage?
What makes things difficult for me is prioritizing the healing cells when im trying to collect them beflre they disapear is when i take most of my damage..
I just got roboquest. I don't like playing the javelin character because I feel like my guns aren't nearly as important with those abilities...

Unfortunately you gotta get and unlock everything again.
Fortunately,Wrenches are farmable now and the upgrade tree is more streamlined,Most Gadgets are easier to obtain as they are tied to side quests and all gadgets can equipped at once and you aren't locked to just equip two.
I'd say don't worry too much and give it another go and treat it a like new game.You'll soon unlock everything in no time.
When the music kicks in between phases 1 and 2 of Iris is probably the best use of music since the intro of Doom Eternal

Why no headbonking?
is it me or is hourglass kinda cheeks as a standalone it basically cancels itself out because ya ur shots do more damage but there slower so technically ur doing the same damage in less shots but the shots are slower so ur TTK goes up
Think about it in terms of reload speed. If you have a near instant reload, you might wanna keep going fire rate. If the reload takes a longer time than you’d like, you’ll get more bang for your buck with hourglass.
Plus there’s plenty of situation cases. I’ll have a video up in a few days of us needing hourglass to slow down the windmill rifle in order to infinitely shoot it with elementalist.
There are a lot of factors depending on the class and weapon that make it worth taking, or worth leaving.
Like haderaxe mentioned, the reload speed is one. Weapons with high singlefire damage can also benefit as the extra 25% damage, especially with a crit, can turn a two-shot kill on certain enemies into a 1 shot which saves a lot of time clearing hordes. If you're already stacking attack speed it can also help mitigate recoil and generally make the weapon feel more controllable, causing you to miss less shots and hit the weakspots more consistently.
Crits multiply damage so hourglass is peak.
Wait, you have guardian 4 but you still dont have the card for every weapon?
I think the easiest class for complete this challenge would be elementalist.
