That team was so talented
People forget how good Jermaine O’Neal Was cuz he had allot of injuries. His Prime was only 6 Seasons out of a long 20 year career.
For r
Og
@@seanmcbrearty1365 well he sat on the bench for 4 years after coming out of high school
The Pistons and their fans ruined it. I hate the Pistons. I hate Isaiah Thomas and whole history of that dirty franchise and city.
Respect to Reggie Miller
Reggie Miller was a great player, with a awesome shooting skills.
Took Jordan's Bulls to Game Seven!
Reggie could have won a chip if it weren't for that malice in the palace.
Commissioner David Stern sat there with his wife, surviving heart attack and stroke in closed loop.
The NBA was way too easy on Detroit but brought the hammer against Indy.
@@paulthomasmiller1842 well if you're looking at results then maybe but based solely on the actions of each individual player I'd disagree. There's no way Ben Wallace could have predicted getting in a fight would have caused a brawl. But Stephen Jackson was continuing to instigate and chose to fight fans. Idk if Jermaine O'Neal deserved as much as he got. Artest and Jackson no doubt had it coming. It's a shame though, that game was done. Just sit the starters and run out the clock!
@@gen4john660 Detroit's security guards did NOTHING to protect the players.
Stern came down like that because of Bird's involvement with the pacers
I really believe the 04-05 season was the best chance the Pacers had to win a championship. That could of been their year. Missed opportunity.
As a Piston fan, I still believe they needed a constant threat like Indiana to push them. Pacers were a monster. The acquisition of Sheed put them just past them in 04, but Detroit lost it's bench depth while Indy maintained theirs and looked even more dominant early in that season. It always sucked that things ended how they did.
Also the ‘98 pacers. Actually the year before also.
Was that the Malice in the palace year? They were looking strong then before that riot
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 Yes same year
That block by Prince though¡👋🏀
For the record, Jermaine & Ron/Metta share this same thought. The doc on Malice at the Palace goes into it all.
Reggie actually told them back then it was his team since they wanted to quarrel about who the leader was. He had every right to, it still didn't help, hints malice in the palace...
Back when defense won games. Should've sicked Ben Wallace on them sooner.
Exactly
😂😂😂 Ben was Finna fawk Ron up
Yep Ben was best low post defender NOT Jermaine... Wasn't even close Reggie
Yes they had a squad but they weren't getting past the pistons who went to the finals back to back to the finals
@@TerryByrdJr I agree that Ben would win that fight but you're kidding yourself if you think it would be a walk in the park, I would legit pay good money to see that shit.
Facts. The best Pacer Team we had. Especially once we picked up S. Jackson
And stephen jackson was a dumb loser
😥 sad...you didn't fail Reggie they did. You're the greatest Pacer that ever played the game in history. That team could have easily gave Reggie a championship just like Gary Payton, Steve Smith, and Mitch Richmond as he was closing his career. The team from 03 to 05 was probably one of the top 5 teams in the league at the time. The 05 season was the season that never was. We started 11-2 with Reggie sitting in the bench healing from hand surgery. Imagine what would have happened when he returned? Smh..this man goes ona list of the greatest players that ever played with no ring all because of immature team mates.
It was the coach and the GMs job to get all the players on the same page
Or the players who are grown men getting paid millions to do a job
It is everyone that is why it is called a team. Egos are hard to control.
If you've played organized team sports past the high school level, you'd understand that AT SOME POINT the players have to take over the reigns and do what's necessary in order to win.
In a perfect world, unfortunately.
@@ericthomas7885this isn’t a high school team. It’s a damn business.
Jermaine O'NEAL was the coolest, nicest Celebrity I have ever met and I have met a lot of them waiting tables.
Of all the hall of famers w no rings, I think Reggie’s lost ring is the worst. If there’s any greater ring robbery in the nba, pls inform me so I can feel sad for them too
I feel sad for d rose always. My heart, will always ache for him and Miller. Miller was my dude growing up. Then rose, was my dude towards the last years I actully watched the game. After that, I pay attention, but don't watch like I used too
Barkley’s for me. Simply because he was a more completely skilled great
The Kings did everything they needed to win it. Chris Weber only missing a ring because of the refs stole it.
@@TheRockemsockmthe nba wanted a blockbuster finals with the lakers that time. bibby's face fouling kobe's elbow is the worst arse ref's call i've seen considering a 'go finals or go home' situation😩😂
Pat Ewing
HOW CAN ANYONE HATE REGGIE MILLER??? WELL OFCORSE THIS QUESTION EXCLUDES ALL NY KNICKS FANS!!!…..💯💯💯
That ‘04-‘05 squad was going to be special that year.
Reggie basically said y'all chill out play defense I'll score it
Even though they had beef, O’Neil still had Arrtest back in Detroit lol
I agree. Those pacers were a team of great chemistry and supreme confidence. They had a great system. Great coaching. Miss those days of intensity.
Great chemistry? He just got done saying they kept arguing about who's team it was😆
Jermaine O'Neal and Ron artest beefing inside the locker room had to be funny
Well being that I’m Ron brother. I can say that it wasn’t.
@@TheArtestEffect are you for real world peace brother? I bet you got stories lol
How would it be funny? In what way?
@@TheArtestEffecthow’s Ron’s son your nephew doing? And is Ron a 5 percenter?
Reggie Miller doesn't get enough credit he was a phenomenal basketball player and he deserves to have a a championship. We've been great to see him play with Chicago he definitely would have won multiple championships
Reggie really was special
It's a shame NBA 2K hasn't blessed us this roster in the game yet😔🍻🍺
Ikr!!!!!
Yeah I agree but there is a way that you could load rosters and they have Reggie Miller and Chris Webber created by somebody that's actually pretty nice also Charles Barkley in 2k23
@@koldtruth4961 he's referring to 2004 Indiana Pacers roster not programmed in 2K.....
@@kevinproctor1060 I know that you dimwit I was just explaining to him that if he wanted to experience Reggie Miller on the game that he could load a user created roster with Reggie Miller in it is all
This is why Reggie Miller is so beloved in the state of Indiana. Reggie loved Indiana and did everything he could to win for this state.
They needed a leader like Drill Instructor Sergeant Jordan.
He gave out the clear reason why it didn't work when he said it's neither of yalls team, it's not even my team. That doesn't work. It has to be someones, and Reggie should have simply made it his team. That's what that team needed. Leadership. A clear alpha and leader.
Gotta agree with you that’s when you need a guy to take the Kobe mental and tell other guys to listen tf up
As a Pacers fan from Indianapolis in the 90's, this team from my Senior year in High school 2004, will always be a High "What-If" for me!
Jermaine was there to throw blows with Ron during the Malice at the Palace tho 😂😂
Music makes me feel I’m watching some sort of murder mystery
That's crazy to hear, I don't recall the two of them having beef?
That team was crazy talented, but very immature...Tinsley, Harrington, Jax
That's the whole reason Detroit dominated the east most the decade. They truly played as team
60s Celtics, those 70s Knicks, late 90s Bulls, early 00s Pistons, Spurs of the early 10s... true meaning and definition of "team" basketball
NBA2K23 missed out on having this team on there !!!!
Jermaine and Ron worked together well while tag teaming Piston fans
Trying to teach knuckleheads is like trying to herd cats.
A fool’s errand.
This pacers team was top 2 in the the east for least 4 straight years Shaq and Kobe was scared of them back then
Facts. Ron came to Sacramento. He was so damn good! Jermaine was a problem. Reggie should have demanded their respect
JO so underrated and definitely a HoFer
And Jermaine was never the same after the Malace
It’s crazy cause Jermaine slide those lil fat guys for Artest at Malace at the palace
Hell of a team! I still wonder why Reggie didn’t dunk the ball
They looked pretty cohesive when they busted those fans' asses
That's what they get for getting rid of Isaiah Thomas for Rick Carlisle they tried to get Rick Carlisle a championship and it backfired
I agree with Reggie. I really wanted to see him get a chip. Yet I respect the fact that he stayed a Pacer until he retired, which makes him a champ in my book.
Transition is the foundation of offense, team defense anchors transition, high school stuff... guys refuse to grow up, there's nothing you can do.
And Ron was averaging 24 ppg on 51% fg and 41% from three the year the brawl happened.
That is so sad. They have no one to blame but themselves.
Reggie Miller took a tall cup of cold beer over his head for Artest 😅
THEY SURE WERE GETTING ALONG WHEN THEY BEAT UP THE FANS IN THE PALICE🤣🤣
If coach put me in, we would have won state!
Respect to Reggie for taking the blame due to him being the OG on the team.
Reggie deserved a championship!!
They had a squad!! I remember Ron pulled Paul Pierce's shorts down lol n Pierce was balling. My Celtics vs pacers were always exciting to watch artest was one of my fave players too great era.
I will always have deep and profound love for Uncle Reggie as a person and athlete. He is one of the best.
Artest cost you a Championship Reggie
What year was!!
@@richardmccall7479 It was in 2004.
Don't do that Artest won DPOTY in Indiana he made an All Star game in Indiana he was balling in Indiana
Now if you referring to the brawl that's not his fault cause idc what job I got you throw beer on me then you must wanna fight. Them fans was way out of line and got what they deserved
@@assalt18 if you remember correctly it was the foul on Ben ignited the brawl.
@@tonybrown6496 that's certainly not what ignited the brawl. The referees lack of control is what ignited it
I can still recall the crowds chanted: "One more year! One more year! One more..."
That was a hell of a team
Indiana Pacers best player! Miller was dedicated and loyal to his Team.
Indiana's Lesson was Chicago's blessing
Jermaine was a beast in Columbia SC. My family went to Spring Valley. He was a problem.✊🏾✊🏾
I used to be in Vegas. Got into a conversation with O’Neal about this once. He said the same thing. But said that after the “Malice in the Palace” it was all blown up no matter what.
As a pistons fan I was always worried about the the pacers during that time.
Reggie was like "fool I'm the offense, just play D"
Reggie had thugs on team for real.
It’s a shame the Pacers never got a championship for Reggie he deserved one !! I’m not sure they will ever win one ! As a diehard Pacer fan it’s sad !! 😔
The Malice at the Palace completely tore apart what could have been a multiple Championship team.
That team was scary, Jermaine O'Neal is often forgotten about in the conversation about dominant players of the early/mid 00's.
Reggie was like the player-coach of the Pacers that time. I really do feel for him. He wanted to win a 'chip yet at the same time he wanted Ron & Jermaine to co-exist together but both of them just act like kids, especially Ron.
That BIG brawl with the crowd brought them together lol
referring to jermaine o’neal as the best low post defender while ben wallace was in the league is craaaazy
Ben Wallace never got enough credit for being the biggest punk in the Palace. He was far and away more responsible for what happened than any one else .
That Pacers version of Ron Artest was so freaking good. Has a motor of a Gary Payton and Rodman and a defensive intensity of a Draymond Green. Plus he can score inside/outside and play bully ball against smaller guards and overpower small forwards.
This team with Steven Jackson had so much talent wow...
Great Bruin, Great Pacer. Loved the way he played those Knicks DOWN. And, shuttin Spike’s mouth all the time!
Isaiah Thomas put that team together 🏀
Jermaine O'Neal is another good player that stacked JailBlazers team had in the late 90s, early 2000s.
Wow! I had never heard about this rift between Ron Artest and Jermaine O'Neal.
The season artest did that bullshit was the year that him and O’Neal were probably going to be in their primes together and that would of lasted just till 07 and they were looking good in the first 7 games that 04 season, they beat the fuck out of Detroit
Facts that 04 Pacers team was supposed to be NBA champs not the Pistons 💯💯
They should have one at least one!!! It would have elevated Reggie career! Damn!
Reggie out here talking about how those pacers squads could have beat Kobe and Shaq plzzzzz
The Pacers were a more talented team than the Pistons, but the Pistons were a team that came together when it counted.
They were never beating Shaq and Kobe. Don’t care how much they loved each other.
Ben Wallace and Shaq were the best low post defenders at that time but J O'Neal was very good
I agree wit Reggie. I thought the same wit OKC when they had KD, Westbrook, Serge, Harding and some 1 else they had. But Reggies right. A few teams have had the players but couldn't find the chemistry
Reggie is 1 of the best ever to do it
Defense Wins Championships 👊🏽
I use to workout with that team back then over the summer super tough
Metta was a beast. He was so good that Mamba brought him to La. Metta arrived on the west coast and went get that Chip. LAKERSFORLIFE!!!!
What's crazy is O'Neal wasn't even that big and was a monster with the low pist defense.
Crabs in a barrel Mentality that's what reggie miller couldn't understand
would like to hear Ron's version of this.
I totally agree with Reggie on that. He could've still won a ring in 08 when the Celtics approached him to play.
I play throwback squads on 2k this team and 2001 Kings will always be tough
I REMEMBER THAT TEAM WAS SOLID
Could have been one of the most successful teams of all time but for so long the pacers have been plagued with team issues.
Plus they had young Stephen Jackson too who was always a great defender
I'm glad to hear these facts I have said that many many times about that Pacers Team.
They had a hell of a team that could have won a championship and got close ..
A House divided cannot stand.
That 05 team was the team best suited to beat San Antonio in the Finals. Sad the way they forced Reggie to go out.
Jermaine O'Neal was absolutely not a better post defender than Ben Wallace
I met Jermaine in AAU nationals down in Winston Salem NC in the summer of 95’. Me and a teammate, and he and a teammate of his were about to bust a domino’s delivery drivers ass lol. Idk if he’ll remember that, but I did. Cool ass dude.
I remember that team. Ron artes is the one that messed that team up, not Jermaine O'Neal
