I don't know how you managed to dig potatoes, clean onions, make dinner and still look so energetic! I would have needed 3 naps between all that! 😂
Me too
Same!!
I agree!
I would have needed a stretcher. 🫤
The more you work, the more energy you have. Plus you sleep so good if you really physically work all day...try it😊
Laura knows how to work!
You are amazing Laura.. I love you so much.. I'm a 16 years old boy and I hope I will have a big big land and house like yours in the future!!❤
❤🎉
I send my wishes that your dreams come true.
💚A kind heart and a hard working soul such as yourself will be greatly rewarded. Never stop dreaming big! 💕
Dream big and work hard. Be generous and wise with your money. You can do it.
Keep the fantastic goals you have in front of you.
I have a 16 yo grandson who lives w me.
We're kind of at opposite ends of Life.
His life unrolls in front of him, unfurling decade by decade. Mine is there for reference -- things to look out + prepare for, what to steer around, etc.
You have the right things in your sights right now if GARDEN ANSWERS is one of your wells of sweet inspiration.
Enjoy the beautiful all around you.
Lol, loved Aaron’s excited “can you grow avocados here!?!” ❤😂
That was such a cute interaction! It reminded me of the other day I was at the garden centre to see what sales they had, and my husband got this look in his eyes when he saw a guava tree..... Now, I'm usually the one to go gaga over plants and he's supportive, but when he saw that tree you could tell he really wanted it...... So we got it - even though neither of us have ever even tried a fresh guava! 😂 We just need to make room to bring it inside over the winter.. here.. in Canada..... 😂😂
Me too!!! I even tapped my husband and had him watch.
This summer I’ve especially enjoyed watching as your gardening has evolved-taking care of pollinators, creating micro-environments like the pond, releasing predatory mites, new farm to table like growing wheat and milling wheat. I love gardening because there’s always more to learn. Thanks for the inspiration, education and keeping it fresh. No doubt it takes a lot of hard work from everyone involved to keep a channel like this evolving--thank you!
I loved the end of this video, especially. Seeing you two sitting at that beautiful table, enjoying the fresh "fruits of your labor" and each other. Lets not forget enjoying the glorious view from that spot as well. Life is Good!♡
It was so fun to see you back in the kitchen making something today.
How utterly absolutely wonderful to be able to go and pick your dinner out of your garden.... nothing better!
You could make a peach salsa from the peaches in your orchard!
yessss!!!
Sounds delish
Or Peach Hot Pepper Jam. That’s what I make. Great over cream cheese, chicken or pork or even on a Peanut Butter sandwich.
@@allysonberry8708 that sounds delightful !
Yummy idea!
I love going shopping in the backyard and garden! NOTHING is more satisfying than growing your own meals. ✌🏻🧅🥔🍅🫑🌶
@@CrispeeCrisps15 oh my goodness. That’s terrible!
@@CrispeeCrisps15I’m sorry someone stole your nice tomatoes! Maybe pull the plants up and hang them upside down in the garage or pick them and put them on newspapers so they can ripen over the next few weeks. That will keep them for you!
Now I want egg and potato tacos with fresh salsa for breakfast. That salsa looks delicious! Laura, you are a true farm to table cook!
Anyone else love the sound of the onions being pulled out of the soil? I love that "harvest crunch" that happens, even when the potatoes are forked out. 😅
For me you are the most inspirational gardener on CZcams!!
Thank you for sharing your experiences I am loving your progress ❤
I love good old-fashioned hard work. I can watch Laura do it all day!
😂🤣 Me too!
Me too ❤
And get inspired to get working in my garden.
We congratulate you, you are introducing us to the village and country life in a pure and clear way, with a nice level of sincerity.thank you
Love the idea to use a ziploc bag to protect your hand!!
I used to do this as well since my skin is so sensitive. I finally threw in the towel and bought disposable latex gloves that live in a kitchen cabinet for just this purpose. 🔥🌶
@@jillette7490 So smart! I keep a box of nitrile gloves for all kinds of dirty jobs in and outside of the house. I'm not opposed to dirt under my nails but I don't like it so I use them to dig in the dirt too and when potting things up. Keeps my hands clean.
We have to keep nitrile gloves on hand in the kitchen for bulldog-related reasons anyway, so we’ve always got an extra for pepper reasons, too. 😁
I learned the hard way! As I’ve done most of my life! But those lessons (big, major, mistakes) have stuck! A little protection goes a long!
Cup of coffee and Garden Answer, what a great way to start my day 🌺🪴🥳
My Texas heart is screaming “Salsa” at 6:42am!!! Another wonderful harvest, Laura!! Now, where are those chips?!?🥵🌶️🧅🍅
Good salsa is good any time of day!! 😋
I love some salsa for breakfast
In some scrambled eggs! Yummm!
It’s so satisfying to grow, harvest and do food prep from your own garden. A true “garden salsa”! Love that you included a bit of cooking with your harvest show.
Your show is my treat for the day!
I agree-its a great way to start my day. And SO much great info!!
I am super happy to have the reminders on the storage of the onions and potatoes. Your harvest is amazing.
Me too!!
My favourite videos besides cut flower garden ones will always be you picking fresh produce from your garden and making something yummy to eat out of it 😋
The harvest videos, complete with a cooking finale are by far my favourite posts.
Wonderful to see you are enjoying and taking your time to harvest, it’s seems more enjoyable for you, and for us, more videos to come? Crossing fingers.
PS: Glad the spiders left.
I hope you let the kids help you harvest the rest of the potatoes, they will love digging for treasures!
Just watched an older video where Benjamin is 2 weeks old and Russel is the new addition to the family . Both are so sweet! The changes you and Aaron have made to the yard are so impressive and inspiring. Do you ever watch the older videos and think dang we have worked so hard to make this dream come true?
I LOVE watching you cook from your garden! I see the potential for an entire separate series!! With all your spare time, that is... 😂
🌻Good morning everyone. Harvest time is the best time, and enjoying it freshly made is priceless. I hope everyone has a wonderful garden day wherever you are 🌾🥔🧅
You too!!
Laura, looks like you have created your heaven on this crazy earth!
Enjoy the small wins! Love your garden tour with fresh salsa!
Today is Dads 87th bday🎉leo
Just know so many of us are happy to be included on this journey❤
xxxooo
The ziplock bag as a plastic glove...work with what you got girl! I just made some homemade salsa from my garden and it's such a great feeling benefitting from the fruit of my labor! Thanks for all your encouragement. You're the best Laura!!
You Go Girl!!! Your Momma and Daddy sure did raise you right! You are amazing to watch! And your production is like WOW!!!
Your Salsa looks delicious! What a great harvest of veggies!
You could seriously open a farm stand with all of this production. Amazing!
You are such a hard worker! I can't imagine doing all of that in one day. Glad you are taking the relaxed approach to harvesting.
I love everything about all of your videos. You have more energy than anyone I have ever seen. You are one very busy lady. I don't know how you do it!
Thanks so much for another great visit with all of us. See you on your next one.
I’m saving this video to my gardening playlist! This is so much good information for storage veggies!
In case anyone was curious. The paring knife Laura was using is a Tourne (tour-ney) Knife aka Bird's Beak. It's purpose is to make Tourne veggies. And was the biggest pain in culinary school 😂
Love seeing how you prepare your garden produce ❤
I so enjoyed watching you make the salsa and actually sitting down on the patio eating it together in the shade and breeze. It made me relax and I realized that we don’t see you sitting and enjoying your spaces. You mention that you hang and sit at times but I now realize how much I would enjoy seeing snippets of pics of you sitting, playing with the kids, going on pleasure rides in the gator, etc. - the joys of the harvest! I love your family and how hard you all work. I didn’t realize til now how I enjoy watching you relax.😊
So sweet and awesome, your produce grocery store steps away. Everything you need and want
All because you put in the passion and love for gardening. Thanks for sharing. It's truly a blessing to us!
Nothing taste better than fresh produce from the garden.
Another amazing harvest.
Living by farms is so good when it’s field to table. We are so lucky. Loved watching your harvest grow
YES! Bring it full circle please. Fresh produce and cooking! Please Do more of this Segway into the future. I'm sure all of us would appreciate it! Thank you Laura and your team! You bring me back from my sadness all the time! Thank you!
🌻Good Morning GA peeps! 🌻 if you guys love to watch Laura and Aaron work on projects, then you will also love Janie at her channel called, "Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat". Janie just bought a good sized piece of property in the country and has a blank slate for gardening! It's so interesting to watch her plan and start projects.
Love that you showed the making of a dish along with the harvesting. 💗
Now I'm craving some potato and onion pancakes with that haul!!!! 🥰🤤
I just love your harvesting, curing and when you include a recipe videos. They are my absolute fav! I often even refer back to them when I go to harvest my own veggies to make sure I am doing it right so thank you!
Ahhhhh fresh salsa. So pleased to see the relaxed harvest method you've chosen. Loved seeing you and Aaron hanging out together enjoying the 'fruits' of your labor. Delightful, and using your new kitchen area outdoor furniture too!
Love a man who enjoys the food you prepare! Good job Aaron - your compliments will ensure that the tasty treats from the garden keep coming!
Cheap glove, big results…..” I could make myself sick on this” is words a chef/cook love to hear! Good job,Laura.
Awesome video! Thanks for showing how you harvest, prep, and store your home grown produce. It's really an education for those of us with no experience in farming. Also, loved how you shared your salsa prep--I could just taste the freshness of it all! You certainly work so hard and so you deserve the best! Thanks again for sharing your fabulous farm 🥰😀😀🥰🥰 I watch one of your videos (current or older ones) everyday.
The flamingos behind you when showing the potatoes are awesome! I think those should go next to the face tree. Aaron will love it so much. 😂😅
Hello Laura. In one of your past videos, you mentioned how your dad left the onions in the garden once lifted out to cure. My pops did the same. He also did it with potatoes. Happy harvest.❤❤❤❤❤
You ALWAYS inspire me in the garden but today I was so inspired by your salsa that I went out and harvested from my garden to make the same. My Husband was every bit as enthusiastic as Aaron 😄
Yay! I love harvest to table videos! (Or harvest in general) Everything looks wonderful, thank you for sharing! 😊
Morning Laura your harvest is bountiful this year the Lord sure has blessed you
A ziploc bag as a glove.....what a great idea. I will be using that for sure
So satisfying to see the entire process from harvesting to produce to eating the salsa! Aaron was a great taste tester!
I don’t know how you do so much in a day but it’s awesome to watch. Could you do a show on curing? I have sweet potatoes, and I’m not sure how to cure them. I’m going to do more seeding this winter.
God has blessed you with a beautiful vegetable garden this year. My mom and dad would plant 10 long rolls of potatoes. I remember watching as the tractor would dig up the potatoes, and we would start squealing and clapping our hands as the potatoes were pushed from dirt. By the end of the day, we were tired, hot, and ready to rest after picking up bushels of potatoes. Your salsa looks good 😊 I think Aaron would give it a big thumbs up. 👍
These are my absolutely favorite types of videos 🧅🍅 harvesting and cooking
My grandparents were large scale farmers in NW Tasmania and the Kennebec were the absolute best roasted potatoes!! ❤❤❤
I love the natural sounds around you as you were harvesting the onions. Love seeing the process you go thru from preparing the soil, seeding (those COSMOS!!!), harvesting, preparing, enjoying the fruits of your labour.....such a joy to see your videos each time they're posted! Cheers for an awesome day GA family...
More cooking shows from Laura please! Watching you use what you grow is inspiring. Love the taste testing and chat with Laura and Aaron on the patio. Such a great space you have created.
I live vicariously through you and your garden! I live at 9,000 ft elevation so don't have a long enough, warm enough growing season to grow food. But boy, it is still so satisfying to see everything you harvest and I just imagine that it all tastes so amazing. I think, like Aaron, I could make myself sick eating too much of that beautiful salsa! 😊
I adore your attitude and work ethic. You are such a breath of fresh air and loveliness. I can't help but smile always after watching one of your videos. Feel good stuff.
There’s nothing like growing and eating your own fresh from the garden
This is awesome! Truly encouraged me!
Bindweed took over my garden and I felt really defeated this summer.
Now starting for the fall ❤Thank you so much for this video!
I have just a very small garden, but it is so satisfying to grow and harvest your own food! My husband planted some Huckleberry Gold potatoes for the first time this year. He dug some up last night to take on our camping trip. Can’t wait to try them!!
I love these types of videos where you share not only gardening but the occasional recipe or DIY project. I discovered your channel a few years ago when I was searching for "what to plant in urns" after my husband bought 2 black urns for our front steps. You made an obelisk out of embroidery hoops. I have watched you every day since!
Now when the food prices are insane you must feel so rich growing so much of your own food 💞
Nice harvest! Love seeing you in the kitchen preparing something yummy with your harvest! Love seeing those big sunflowers and the wilder side of the garden over there just because it reminds me of my childhood gardens with my parents and grand parents! Today I am a raised bed gardener on the slightly informal formal side. lol Guess you can never take the country out of this girl!
Laura, you amazing me. You’re such a hard worker, and how you can take the heat. I worked yesterday in my garden pulling up ivy’s from the ground and it was hot.
I thought I was going to pass out from heat exhaustion 🥵
Your my hero! 🩷
Happy Gardening 🪴
Laura I can’t believe the energy you have, harvesting, drying the produce and cooking! I’m glad you get to enjoy your produce and unwind at the end of the day.
Spectacular harvests Laura! Even when you don't want to be epic you still are...that salsa looked so darn good. I can't get enough this season!
Watching those potatoes come out of the ground is sooo satisfying!!!! Oh how I wish my garden produced like this, I need to import dirt from Oregon cause Miss Laura’s garden is always producing amazing harvests!!! Love it so much, esp this onions, amazing!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I really like it when you say what the potatoes and onions and things are best used for! Helps me know for some of the varieties I'm not familiar with. Thanks 4 all th knowledge you share in all your videos, much appreciated!! 😊
Onions ring sounds good...with buttermilk soaking
Our family has a yummy recipe that calls for tomatoes, onions, jalapeno, bell peppers, corn, black beans, and cilantro, with an olive oil, cumin, and lime vinaigrette. We eat it like salsa or as a side. You could make the entire thing almost entirely from your garden!
Beautiful and plentiful harvests~ BRAVO!
Laura you are such a hard worker!! I know you enjoy your gardens🌸💕
That is absolutely exciting...watching you grow an avocado tree that bare fruit...amazing! It will happen!
Nothing like fresh from the garden!
One brave, talented lady there!! Those benches. Ah!
I am in awe of your energy and organization! Laura the human dynamo 🎉
Using fresh is the BEST. Tip for your pico. I use a spoon and scoop out the seeds. Less moisture and it lasts for a few days in the fridge. Yum!
My father grew potatoes for Lays to be made into chips. Kennebec was what Frito Lay wanted because of the size mostly.
Wow just look at all those onions and potatoes, everything looks great…thanks for sharing Ms Laura!😊
I wished y’all would do a video of onion growing from start to finish. I would like to see each step of onion growing.
Casa Ole’s Red Salsa..the best
(1980s restaurant in south Tx, gone now from town lived as kid)
Ingredients:
1 large can tomato juice
( like Campbell's in a plastic bottle, you can estimate ratio)
1 large can V-8 juice
1 large can crushed tomatoes, drained
Jalapeno pepper, finely chopped (use them according to the amount of heat you want in the salsa)
Chopped fresh cilantro (to taste)
lime juice (to taste)
Finely chopped garlic (to taste)
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl combine ingredients or mix with handheld blender.
This gets better over time so enjoy leftovers. Place lid on the bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours if can wait to allow the flavor to infuse
Hi Laura and Aaron! What a great harvest of potatoes and onions! It was nice that you grew everything that you needed for the Pico de Gallo. It looked so good, and seeing Aaron loving it was a good confirmation that it was good! Will we be seeing an avocado tree in your future? ;-) Are you going to find a special place by the pond for Samantha's pink flamingo's? Thank you so much for sharing!
You are truly blessed Laura. Im looking at your crops, how big and bountiful they are. Amazing ❤!
You are such an inspiration. I used to hate gardening and so forth and now that’s all I can think about. I just want to go and do it all.
I was thinking of putting a fountain in my yard so of course I googled it. I came across your channel and now I’m hooked. Thanks for sharing.
Nothing beats having your own produce! "Fruits of your labors"
I bet that’s a great feeling of accomplishment!
Digging potatoes… my mom voluntold the 4 of us to help my grandfather dig potatoes. We did it early (what every teenager loves) so we didn’t have to do it in the blazing heat of the day.
Love....voluntold...
Lol@@wandafincher5773
It must be SUCH a good feeling to be harvesting your own home grown produce and SO satisfying to see it all stacked up in the root cellar to be used up over winter. I imagine the closest feeling that I’ve experienced is that for many many years I kept horses and every year around the end of August I’d start my “get set for winter campaign” which consisted of washing & re proofing all the horse rugs, clearing out the stables, power washing and disinfecting them, painting interior & exterior of the stables with timber preservative, gathering all my water and feed buckets etc and cleaning and disinfecting them, buying and storing all my hay, feed & wood shavings for bedding and finally setting a lovely thick fresh bed ready for when the weather turned. Once I’d done all of that I’d ALWAYS stand in my immaculate clean stables with a coffee and think “winter? Bring it on & do your worst!” Content in the knowledge that no matter what the horses were all set. I’m in the U.K. so “winter” could start in September and run through until May on a bad year!
WOW! Great harvest. You work so hard. Love to watch you enjoying it. Your videos teaches and encourages everyone to plant and grow delicious safe organic foods. Thanks❤❤❤❤
Laura, what an inspiration you are. I so miss raising a garden and having fresh vegetables on the table. Love that your made us fresh salsa, and I think your husband really liked it.🤣 I enjoy your videos so much. Praying God’s blessings on your precious family!🙏🏻❤️
I love the idea I going from garden to fork/chip. It looks so refreshing after so much work.
Thanks for inspiring me to try growing onions and potatoes again! I never knew how to properly store them before. Also, great idea using the ziplock bag as a "glove" when handling the hot peppers!
Love to see how you actually use this beautiful produce in recipes. Hope to see more 😊
