Thank you so very much for promoting donations of garden produce to local food pantries. I volunteer at our local food shelf & we so appreciate when gardeners bring in their extra produce. You wouldn't believe how much this means to both the organization & especially the clients. Thank you for leading by example & spreading the word.
@Kathy Meyer ~ THANK YOU for volunteering at your local food shelf!👍🤗
I assume even the food shelves are hurting for volunteers.
I am so happy to hear this as well. I was wondering what they were going to do with all that cabbage! 👍👍👍😇😇😇
❤
A harvest triumph! Congratulations, Laura! Just beautiful.
@@GardenHappy she says in every video about her harvest, vegetables and flowers, that they donate the excess.
As someone who runs a local food pantry, donations of such beautiful organic produce is much appreciated.
One of the many reasons I love to watch Garden Answer is the community spirt that I see on this site. The donations to the Food Bank warm my heart. My Dad had a deal with the local food warehouse in our home town. Three times a week he would pick up food that they were going to throw away and take it to our local food bank and then what they did not need the Salvation Army would come and take the rest. When my Dad was in the hospital before he died the Director of the Salvation Army came to visit him. He told my Dad that the food he had been saving over the last 15 years was feeding over 2000 people a month. Just as he left a legacy for me to follow I think that Laura and Aaron are setting a fantastic example for Benjamin and Samantha Grace.
Thank you for sharing this story. ❤️
@Stephen Thompson ~ I am sorry to hear of the passing of your Father.💔 It sure sounds like he was one of God's Earthly Angels, like Laura and Aaron. It must make you so proud of him and you carry on his charitable cause. Thank you!
Your dad was years ahead of the rest of us. What a legacy
❤️
Such a heartwarming story and a great legacy! 💖
The garden looks magical in the glow of early morning light!
You are such a sweet person, growing this food to donate. Thank you for being a bright light in this sometimes dark world.
I found your channel and started watching your videos in 2018 after a tough 2017 (I lost 5 family members in 2017 - my Dad being one of them). Garden Answer became my therapy and I tell you, it couldn't have come at a better time! I come from a family of gardeners/farmers but it wasn't until I turned one half century old for that 'seed' within my DNA to 'sprout'. I've learned so much from Garden Answer and what used to be a bare landscape - at my home - now has trees, shrubs and flower beds and it's still growing. Sometimes when I'm out in the yard, neighbors driving by or walking their dog will stop and ask me: "what is the name of that plant?", "where can I get that plant?" It's unadulterated joy - for me - to have these conversations. It's taken some time but my Faith, Garden Answer and gardening have restored me and I can't even begin to express my gratitude.
❤🌹🌼🌻🌺🐞
What a beautiful soul is Laura, she does all that hard work with love 💕 and then she donates them!
Good morning! What a harvest of cabbage. To grow, tend & harvest all that to give to a food pantry is heartwarming. What a wonderful thing to do such a beautiful heart your family has. BTW just before watching this video I was watching Andrews Seed video of a new delivery. Hopefully your Mom will do videos periodically and we can see her also.
I was thinking the same thing Kathy!
What a wonderful feeling it must be to harvest and donate !! Laura you set such an amazing example of generosity !
That row of cabbage is amazing!
I ALWAYS enjoy watching Garden Answer and hearing, “Hi guys! How’s it going?” Thanks for all you do! 😊
Could you please go over the most prolific strawberries to grow? I want to try them next year and would love all your knowledge on growing and varieties. Thank you! Love all you do.
Ahhhh! Morning in the garden with Laura! 🌼
Awesome video!!
You are a very generous person, cutting and delivering the cabbage to the food bank for people less fortunate than yourself.
The plants all look great and I noticed the grass that Paul and Aaron seeded is looking fantastic. 👌👏👍🥰🌺
I agree Donna. They are a very blessed family, Its so awesome they share.❤️👍😇
Yes agree !!! God bless
Yes i agree!!!
Cabbage perfection! Bless you tenfold for growing with the intent to share.
Hey, I dug my very first potato last night! I'm 62 and it's my first time growing them. Got the seeds from my dad who got them from his brother in KY. My uncle has been deceased for 10 years. I want to keep his pioneer potatoes going, like dad. And, I washed the potato well, salted & peppered it and ate it. YUM!
@Stephanie Blume ~ what a fabulous way to keep your Uncle's memory and legacy (pioneer potatoes) alive!😍 May you get a good yield of their potatoes.
@@kimberleyfrasquillo3684 thank you for your kindness and your comment. Bless You!
Good morning Laura! Lol, I kept wondering "what is that white flower?". Then you said carrots gone to seed!!! They are beautiful! Thanks to Bethany! Great to have fantastic helpers! Hugs from N.C..❤️
The blue color of those red acre cabbage is so beautiful. I would love those in a potted arrangement or a window box!! Who else got hungry for breakfast after seeing those fresh eggs? 🍳🥓
Me! Hahaha I agree 😇👍❤️
Good morning, Laura, from Windermere Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
I'm late this morning. I started weeding at 6:30a.m....trying to beat the heat!
Happy Gardening and Weeding Everyone 👩🌾👍
Love the friendliness of Beverly & she was so happy to get a treat!🍓Thanks for sharing the chickens on video, it's was my favorite! You must feel so satisfied & gratified at end of such a fulfilling day💙 Blessings to you + your generosity!
Good morning everyone, good morning Laura. That cabbage is amazing. Can't wait to get into the cut flower shed.
You really had a productive day! I loved how the chicken wanted to be picked up, like a toddler. Then she was so eager to get the strawberry! So cute. Thanks for your efforts to help out the community. Beautiful cabbages to be shared. I’m reminded (I think last year) you took a pickup load to the garden center and gave them away. (Am I remembering that right?). I was in Nyssa last year for that, but didn’t make it to Ontario that day for it. Really fun to see the delightful reactions of folks, though. 💚💚💚
Blessings to you for sharing your crops with Food Banks etc. Those cabbage’s were perfect. The strawberries are yummy and your chickens are such a delight.
The cabbage harvest was so amazing, I planted six green and two red and just harvested the red, I'm so excited I grew that! They look beautiful when they grow too, like a big flower! I gave one to my neighbor and the other to my daughter. 👏👍
Good morning, Laura ☕️ I can only image how well the garden smells especially with all those lilies! How spectacular 🙌🏻. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
Oh wow the cabbage is looking amazing! It is winter here in Sydney, and number of floods on the Australian east coast, and inflation, cabbage prices have gone through the roof around where I live, it is somewhere between $10-$15 for a head of cabbage and lettuce is about the same as well 🥺 I can’t wait for warmer weather to come!
@Simple Life, WOWWWWW, that is highway robbery; $10-$15 per head of lettuce or cabbage? A single seed would only cost about 5 cents. The stores and government should be ASHAMED of themselves for their greed and taking advantage of people. I am sorry to hear that Australia is suffering those outrageous prices.💔
Met some people from Australia years ago when we were vacationing in Hawaii. They were telling us how expensive everything is there. They were thrilled with the prices in Hawaii, which of course were much higher than the mainland. Sad to see that inflation is hitting you guys even harder now. Best wishes!
Saw the flood damage on the news. 😱 I hope the weather settles down now. I hope food prices get better soon too!
Those cabbages are gorgeous! Boy, I would be lining up at the gate for them. This is why I love this channel, it's not all fluff and expensive ornamental projects.
Beautiful cabbages are like the jewel of a garden in my opinion! How incredible to see the different varieties!
That cabbage is gorgeous in color. Can’t believe all those heads. You are such a wonderful person and I know they are so thankful for you also. 💚🌱
Can the chickens eat the rest of the cabbage leaves left on top of the soil after harvesting the head of cabbage? Beverley was so adorable lifting her wings slightly to be picked up. Thank you for adding things like the chickens to your videos, I didn't know their character could be so adorable (00:12:15).
The cabbage is as big as bowling balls! the strawberries look deeeelish! so happy you donate locally. i admire all your work and the results are fabulous!
Good Morning ☀️ you MUST be the hardest working lady, blessings for your big heart to support food pantries. So many ppl in need! Have a fabulous day! Love love your videos! You’re the best! 💖
Laura you have such a huge heart! Your donations will mean the world to families that normally wouldn't have access to healthy fresh produce.
That is very sweet of you to grow and donate I am sure families are very happy about fresh veggies :)
Wow, what a great crop of cabbage. You are so very generous as you give to your local food pantry. I love watching your videos every morning as you inspire us all to make the world a better place. Thank you for your enthusiasm and sharing your knowledge of gardening.
I just wanted to check in and say hi, Laura to you and the family! I love, y'all! Family!🥰💕🤗💕
Laura. I wanted to tell you some time ago that y'all music selection is always GREAT!👍🏾💯💕🥰
What a wonderful place to share your bountiful harvest!! 💕 Great video!!
I’ve dubbed this year the “year of the volunteers” in my garden. 😊 A good portion of what I have growing are things that reseeded themselves and it’s lovely. A little messy sometimes but lovely just the same. 🥰
The carrot flowers remind me of Queen Anne’s lace. Very pretty
Laura, the harvest of the cabbage and strawberries in your beautiful garden is so satisfying. I totally agree that utilizing your garden space with other flower tubers and seeds are worth your efforts. Thank you for sharing.
It's always wonderful to see people giving back to their community. Thank you for such a great video. The fearless way you go about things and how forgiving and patient you are is so inspiring. If something doesn't grow, oh well, you just rip it out, plant something else and move on. The digging up of the ranunculus was particularly informative, thank you!
Wow! What a beautiful bounty of cabbage. Each a prize winner! You made my heart happy Laura with your donation to the pantry. 🧡🧡🧡 Thank you for all you do. Another great video. I enjoyed. xo
Samantha could have come and pulled the ranunculus... and proudly showed you what she got, like she did with the bunny tails 🥰 loved this video! Judging by the time of day, all the camera set up was your doing and, well... amazing! Beautiful angles, especially the shot of the carrot blooms with the pollinators enjoying the offerings! Great morning's work! Thank you for taking the time to get all these beautiful angles for us ❤
Look at you getting out early in the morning! And you said you didn’t start early lol. Love it and love how you inspire others.
So glad the food pantry is receiving your surplus of a beautiful harvest.
This would be a feeding frenzy for the one billion rabbits that live in my neighborhood. I can't plant anything I truly love without them wiping me out! Your crops are gorgeous.the cabbage patch was so beautiful to look at 🌱🥬
You are a beautiful person. Very kind & generous. You make the world a better place by being here. God bless you and yours.
It's nice to see you are donating, extra produce, to your local food bank. Love your videos, Great Harvest Laura !
Living vicariously through you, we are having a horrendous drought and heat wave in central Texas right after my husband built my dream garden for me for Mother’s Day. Can’t wait to have a thriving garden again. Until then, I’ll just binge watch you!
ahhh, isn't it great to be out working early in the morning? i'm loving it, just me and the birds and a few early bees... love the raised beds at the food center! wonder if they'd have room for potatoes? maybe they got too late a start this year, but the ratio of plant to potatoes is amazing... those strawberries look amazing... i'm doing mine in hanging baskets because the rolypoly/pillbugs just have a grand time if i grow them in the ground, sigh... cabbage is gorgeous; wish i liked it better, lol!! what a great day in the gardens!! hope you had a little time to put your feet up later.. 🙂 ❤ thanks for the video!! 🙂 ❤
Love all the comments about donating and volunteering. Anyone else thinking, 'Laura got up early'. ? 😉😁 Yeah those umbel flowers of the carrots are real pollinator attractors. I forget what other plants have that kind of flower shape.
I'm looking forward to seeing some gorgeous flower arrangements being put together ❤️. Possibly in the new flower shed!! 🌼 so many amazing varieties and colors!! Ohhh the possibilities ✨️
Good morning Laura the cabbage looks beautiful you are a joy to watch . I love my flower garden I've always had my hands in the dirt over the years I have health problems and it prevents me from doing much anymore but watching you in your beautiful garden helps me through the day.
Thank you for taking us along on your day. Brightest Blessings.
I had to show those carrot blossoms to my husband. They were so amazing! I’ve never seen carrots blossom so profusely!
Laura, you could feed the world with the beautiful produce you grow! ☮️🌍🌲
Those carrot flowers are gorgeous!
Laura, The garden looks gorgeous today.Liking the strawberry, how fun.
Did Benjamin not know about the strawberries? There are so many and ours are done in upstate NY. So are the ranunculus here. I always have extra vegetable starts but I grew extra for a Girl Scout Gold Award which was starting a community raised bed vegetable garden for a food pantry. I also save some for a community garden in the city of Syracuse. It makes you feel good to give back to the community with something you love! Be warned my mahogany splendor gets about 5 feet tall.
Fun to see the garden. Everything looks amazing.
Laura’s chickens are the happiest chickens on earth, I’ll bet. 😀
Your garden looks like a magazine profesional picture, so neat looking!
Hi Laura! Your Garden is a Fairy Tale!
I love Flowers especially Cactus & I love grafting Cactus. Greetings from Flowers Zone Albania 🇦🇱
So good of you to grow and donate to those in need Laura
Laura you have such a kind heart and soul thank you for being you 🙏🥰🦘🐨🇦🇺Karen
What a great video to watch with my warm cup of coffee! Good morning!
The garden is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!
Ty for the very good tutorial of digging up and dividing and storing the ranunculus. No one ever does this part of the life cycle of ranunculus.
The Queen Anne’s Lace is beautiful and huge! Lol I just got to the part where you say this is carrots that have gone to seed. Amazing.
@Joan Ward ~ 🙋🏼♀️ I thought it resembled Queen Anne's Lace too. But, I thought it was her dill.😂🤣
I thought they were a bit like the Queen Anne’s Lace too
God bless all you do - and all that you give. Thank you for a great video, and for all your good work. You have the best show on the internet. Love to you and yours.
Laura I love those rows of flowers behind you, I have the itchy fingers to cut them and put them in a vase omg I know it will look so beautiful,oh boy.
You are so natural and easy to learn from. Never feel like you are instructing. Nice start to my day. Hope yours is a blessing.🙏👨🌾
Laura, you inspired me to grow cabbage a few years ago. I never knew cabbage could taste so good. So beautiful in the garden as well. I will grow cabbage every year. ❤
Good Morning! 😃🍓🥬 Love the Food Pantry garden! Gorgeous strawberries! I love the background shot of the shed! My gardens for me are very therapeutic & relaxing! Whenever I feel stressed, I head out to my gardens!! Also watching your videos is very therapeutic & relaxing!! 🥰😌🍓🌻🌿💚
Loved your carrot flower patch! I always have carrots, pink, orange, white, scattered through my flower garden to get the great flat flowers and pollinators. Different coloured carrots have slightly different coloured flowers. And once you have them ... you have them, in a good and manageable way. Impressive cabbage crop, such tight and full heads. Thanks for sharing.
That is an amazing harvest of cabbage
What an awesome donation!
Hope to see more harvesting videos 🥰🥰🥰 and those flower arrangements 💐🤍
Another wonderful video. Thanks Laura x 💜💜💜🙏😇🇦🇺🕊️
Laura gets me everytime with her "Dang...: when she's caught off guard by something - good or bad :D
Pollinators love flat flowers. Parsley, yarrow, queen Anne's lace, cow parsley all those broad cup type flowers bring the pollinators to your yard 😍
Those long garden beds looked to have 4 boards on the long side, so those were 4x16 beds! 👍🏽
Laura, I love all your videos! But I must say this amazing, beautiful video is my favourite of all time! Your garden is as amazing as you ! Such a blessing to so many people.
Great to hear you are letting the self seeding happen. Carrots are beautiful
Pretty sky, too!
These are my favorite videos. Veggies, strawberries, chickens. Love it!
Beautiful, I can see the love and care in the growth of the cabbages!
upstate new york here, omg this video is like future time travel, my plants are still so small 😫 my snappeas and lettuce etc are all I’ve gotten so far. love you’re videos laura!
The Lilies beside the cabbage look awesome.
The cabbage is beautiful, and I have always wanted to grow it, but really do not know much about cooking with it, would love for you to have a cooking vlog with a recipe to share. The gardens look awesome! Stay cool!
Love to see you harvesting food!
Laura, you have such a beautiful heart! What a blessing!
loving those pots with gaura
The longest time in summer gardening is waiting for our sweet peppers to turn red or yellow! 🌶
Laura, what’s your favorite way to prepare cabbage for your family? I’d love some ideas that are different than the usual coleslaw etc. Your harvest is just incredible. What a blessing to those who utilize the food pantry.❤️
Bumper crop of cabbage. That's so like Laura and Aaron to grow for the benefit of the food pantry. They are awesome humans.
Morning, my Hibiscus have started to bloom and they are beautiful. I put the plants in their nursery pots into a tub of water and they grow like crazy I wish the flowers lasted more then a day or two - oh well Mother Nature.
I live two streets over from our local food pantry. We’ll see how my tomato crop does and if I can I’ll drop some off. Thank you for sharing 💓
Bless you and your family for sharing your harvest, enjoyed the video!
I was going to ask you Laura what those flowers were...I was guessing all kinds of things, but carrot wasn't one of them. I was surprised at how lovely they were. Learning from you is a daily thing! Thanks for a wonderful day.
You are sooooo lucky to have strawberries. This is my first year growing and some small animal is eating them faster than they can ripen. I even have them covered at night.
