- Clinton Fowler & Gypsy Tales discuss the current state of Supercross and weather it's trending in the right direction.
My guest today is Clinton Fowler, the man behind the fantastic statistics that you hear each and every weekend on the Supercross broadcast as well as the fantastic online resource wewentfast.com and his own instagram @fowlerfacts. Clinton gave up his high-paying job at Microsoft developing the XBox to work in the action sports world with Red Bull and wound up developing the sports first detailed database almost on accident. I am a big storylines guy in the sport and no matter what story you throw Clintons way, he has a stat to either back it up or shoot you down. This was a highly enjoyable episode of the podcast with an extremely interesting and knowledgeable guy!
If you enjoyed the stats side of this show, you can sign up to wewentfast.com to get access to Fowlers great database and a ton of unique stories that I doubt you have ever heard!
Pay tv kills most sports. It wont go to the masses
In the US, peacock is a fraction of the cost that general cable costs making the races much more accessible than they have ever been
@@TheYamaha36 $5 a month
International pricing is way too high for subscribers
I think they should push to merge mx and sx more and that will help the sport. I would also ban tue chevron tire so the ruts don't get so big
Get AJ Catanzaro on the podcast! Itâd be sick
put it first few years live on youtube . make donated button
That's a BIG NO !
Need better tracks! All these one line follow the leader BS is getting old.
IMO Supercross and Motocross has got really stagnant and boring to watch. Itâs all about the start and one line tracks. In all honesty I think RC JS CR spoiled us 2002-2009 with all the great racing and they brought star power. As good as Jett is, I really think he lacks star power and he just doesnât excite me.
They need to go back to riding 2 strokes, making the tracks more old school and safer, the outdoor tracks are now just spread out sx tracks. They need to return to natural terrain tracks as much as possible. Most importantly, you need to make it more affordable for the average person. The average person no longer races motocross or sx because they can't afford to buy a $12K bike and as soon as it breaks down, they can't afford to fix it. They can no longer afford to buy a new bike every year. They have gotten away from the sport because it is no longer a realistic form of racing to the average person. They can no longer afford a bike, the gear, the accessories, the entry fees, the helmets, the boots. The sport needs to simplify.
@@jamesadams2334privateer riding is what is holding back the sport which sucks because it was the reason the sport was surviving for so long and how it got so big. But itâs not capped because of the privateers
Make regulations on the bikes more fair. In the sense of engine and frame wise the bikes must be stock. But things like exhaust, handlebars, suspension can be upgraded at whim
They should get all stock bikes so itâs fair.
I agree with you however think they should keep the factory bikes⊠but maybe add something like a pro-stock class
That wouldn't be safe. You can't stick these guys on stock suspension or we will see weekly failures like what happened to Kenny.
@@seanhaberman4619 make the tracks slower. You wouldn't have the cost to maintain the bike, it would be safer, you wouldn't end up with a track of ruts and people would have far less injuries.
Supercross is nothing today compared to late 90âs to mid 2000âs. Itâs detracted quite a bit. Feld and MXSports doesnât want to give up power and thatâs holding the sport back. The sport needs more parody with outside teams capable of being competitive with factory teams. That means a true production rule. Canât run anything that isnât readily available to the public. No more overly expensive factory only parts. Much more changes needed but start there. Outdoor format needs to change too. Two 30-minute motos doesnât work for TV. Itâs boring.
Side by sides killed motocross and supercross,
Banks say that a side by side 4 wheel power sport is worth 22 thousand average to 40 thousand dollars for 1 unitâŠ
They see that a power sport with 2 wheels should be the value half of side by side value..
Upping the price of bikes.. equipmentâŠ
The price raise has cause many and most average low income household to not be able to afford local motorcycle racing/ riding cause the price of the bikesâŠ
The bikes are higher now than they have ever been which has driven the price of used junk up tooâŠ
Itâs impossible to take your boy racing out of the pickup truck pitching a tent and spending less than $100 those days are gone and itâs killing our gate fillings which is leading the sport to die in local racing!
Professional racing, is different there are probably al lot of fans now that have access to motocross/supercross media because via cell phone related content⊠but even then the attention span of a fan is not that long⊠so unless something cool/ some ideology is getting released weekly mid week in the moto media, that deals with the professional racing/riding, nothing will grow!
Leigh "DOOFY" Diffey is making it horrible. Worst announcer in history of SX.
He's better than RC by a mile.
Rc does not belong in the booth period
F 1 follow the leader boring
