"You Darth Vader breathing moron..." LMAO! You got me with that one Rob. Nearly got choked on my dinner. If I'd died over a bowl of soup due to that, I'd come back to haunt your Darth Vader butt! Too funny brother.

The Rhode Island State Trooper is on duty. Don't worry your fans will be waiting for you. That station is in a good spot on a magnificent layout Sir. You also have my respect,i.e. the wiring you do is incredible to me. That's the only terrifying part of the hobby to me. Everything else I'm good. Just not the dam wiring. I learn this from your videos. I'm a audio, visual learner kinda guy. We'll be waiting Mr. Be safe, and take care.

I don't know if it's weird or not, but I would've re-wired those switches too. Would've bothered the hell out of me every time I threw one. Nice attention to detail.
    Best, John.

Your unique combination of skill and humility make your videos stand head and shoulders above many others. So many of us don't make progress on our layouts (and lives, for that matter) because we are afraid to learn new lessons in public. You have no such barrier. Please keep these updates coming.

You should buy some molex plugs , you can get them in different number of pin configurations and you can just simply plug and unplug on the back side of the panel. Also you could try a piece of 1/8 plexiglass on the front to hold down the labels and all you have to do is drill your hole pattern out. Anyway good video and I enjoy watching and thanks for not having an bad ego problem.

Don't you just love all that spaghetti? My wiring's much less sophisticated(just learning bit by bit really), and needlessly over-complicated. I start off trying to make it as simple as I can so that I can understand it(frankly electrics/electronics are not my forte), and I nearly always end up with a 'bird's nest' look.
I understand entirely why you want your LEDs to work a particular way. It just makes things easier. You can glance at the panel and quickly know what's where...........great work even if a tad laborious. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing to your best ability. Yours would appear to be light years beyond mine....lol......Come back safe soon Rob. I need my regular fix of the Bennett Railroad.......David(UK)

Really do like your honesty when it comes to owning up to your little mistakes, there are many people (even those not on YT) who would never admit to such things. Great update Rob. The funny thing is my Dad and I just last night (before viewing this video) where talking about wiring tortoise the way you did. Not having so many lines running back to the 12v bus. Nice job on the old fence. I like the junk in the inside corner of it. And I think the placement of the Eugene station works well. Have a safe trip.

Another great video, even though wiring is a bit of a dark art as far as I am concerned! Like the Eugene station background. After my mother in law passed away I built a OO scale model of her house for my brother in law's layout. Even though he left home at 16, and has had his own house for years, and is now 54, it was still "home" as far as he was concerned.

like Jacob McFarland said i enjoy watching you videos. it is like going to your house and playing with trains. sometimes i pick up the best tips from friends.
i suggest a unique idea for an old freight building. scratch build a burnt out building with the foundation and missing roof and charred wooden beams. make it look like an old freight building built in the 1800s.

I have one request, could you possibly start filming the actual work being done? You could play that part in high speed with some music in the background or something. I love the work but would very much enjoy watching the work being done. Thank you!

Your updates are thoughtful and filmed well; always looking forward to them. That depot is very nice looking (a perfect tribute to your dad) and I think you should stop putting yourself down as you do great work and it is okay to care about doing things the right way as in the switch toggles lining up with the prefered route. I think a "house track" behind the depot might be a nice addition, in fact if the rails were buried in the asphalt that would look very cool indeed. Of course I know nothing of Pennsy practice in such matters so you do what you know best. Are you considering a platform for the Eugene depot? Just curious.

I'm doing mine the same way. Anything of the main needs you to turn a key and push a button. Mains have lights - Green Main - all yards and industries have no lights, toggle direction only. Railroad is too cheep to be fancy and have lighted turnouts for industries.

I have been following your impressive layout from the very beginning, but I always assumed you were modeling a NS modern layout? Either way beings your layout is based around the 1950's but correct me if I'm wrong... isn't the Sunoco signage in your backdrop (26:50) too modern for the 1950's era?
