Doesnt take a genius to realize that tech is going to go up. She is a beginning fund manager than got one lucky bet on the market going tech heavy. This is like comparing someone who gained 150% during tech boom to someone whos a god. She has no track record just got lucky timing. Her fund was only managing 40m just 4 years ago so clearly shes not very good at her job, only if she can hold this grwoth for the next 5 years will she be considered good.
I saw her on CNBC Marketwatch and decided to look into her insight of Disruptive Tech as an investment strategy. 3 Ted Talk type presentations and 8 interviews later I'm sold.

I own ARK ETFs & Tesla. I am a retired engineer and see Tesla having a clear and long runway to dominance over ICE companies & the petroleum industries. I would prefer if ARK allowed their winners to run, rather than capping them by an artificial fund by-law. I think their ETFs would do better.

She advocates a ton of systematic risk towards governments.
The technologies she's expecting to deliver huge growth are all areas where regulation is very important: genes, AI, Autonomous Vehicles, and Cryptos. If governments try to stand in the way (and they bloody well should) they could delay growth, add overheads, reduce margins etc. As a voter, I think these trends necessitate that kind of intervention. And the Democrats are more prone to intervene.
Probably best add some stuff in your portfolio that won't be at the mercy or regulation.
I’m sure her research team is aware of that..and even so..her performance speaks for itself....

With the increase of EVs we should invest in companies that will dispose of the batteries and an industry that will find ways to recycle the chemicals. Because now, they are too toxic for landfills, so R&D is extremely important. Some billionaire will find a way to get the government to pay for the research, then will exploit the new products made from them.

Deflation? Yes somethings are getting cheaper, but often the providers of those goods and services have irregular profits, declining profits and/or declining profit margins. Is it sustainable? We added up my households budget last year and disregarding the house payment, we spent 20% on food up from 18.3% the year before. Insurance 4.1% up from 3.7%. Energy 4.7% up from 4.1%. Healthcare 4.8% up from 4.3%. When you consider total spending was up 3.1%, then those increases increased on food, insurance, energy and healthcare were increased even more so. Deflation maybe in tech related stuff, but in the things we depend on "No Way". PS The way that Walmart is paying for the extra costs of online ordering with store pickup, is that over the last 12-18 months they have ever so slowly increased their grocery prices to increase their gross margins, ie those of us that pick our own groceries at Walmart pay more. Solution shop more at Aldi's.
