      Exactly Wei Luo. For instance one key point mentioned by Elon was that the "competition" had 7 years to produce a real competitor to the 2012 version of the Model S and failed to do so! Also, it became crystal clear during the presentation that anyone who purchased and will purchase a Tesla will have a choice to use the vehicle as a true investment capable of returning $30 000 USD/year through the Robotaxi Tesla network. No other manufacturer is even close to these kinds of options for their clients!

    • @shepherdsknoll8
      @shepherdsknoll8 Před 5 lety +13

      Take a look at the key components in a Tesla. The motors, inverters, batteries, battery management and software are all superior to the competition. If major manufacturers do invest what’s necessary to build the same technology, they will be priced way higher than Tesla. In addition they simply do not have the batteries, vertical integration, and infrastructure (Superchargers), to compete, because they have not made the investment. I would love to know how many of the brightest people in the world work for Elon also.

    The bear case on why Tesla is down so much revolves around Q1 numbers, which as most analysts presumed, is attributed to falling demand. If Q2 numbers were to rebound strongly as Tesla has guided and observed so far in April, I wonder what thesis will the bears come up with next. Car sales is falling in US, Europe and China, but sales for EVs have been increasing. It's a clear sign where the consumer market is headed. Tesla is so far ahead of the alternatives, it's almost a no-brainer for EV buyers to favour Tesla when it comes to value-for-money. Even without autonomous vehicles, Tesla will come to dominate the EV market in the next 5 years, as long as they keep up production and innovation.

      Actually, Musk said they should be down, again, in Q2 2019. He said Q3 2019 should be a return to profit. They have some things they want to do. i dismissed her before i pressed play, thinking this would be a crazy position. but then i listened to her, and actually sounds pretty smart. now i need to contemplate.

    Peerless auto expert Sandy Munro says Tesla is light years ahead of everybody else. If you were a brilliant young engineer, who would you want to work for? I have no opinion on the outcome. Is it an idea whose time has come? I can think of reasons it might be.

    At the time, they thought she was crazy. But I guess anyone would look crazy when they're the only one who sees something that no one else sees. At the time of writing this, Tesla is trading at $880/share post split. That's equivalent of $4400/share pre-split. Simply amazing, I'm investing in ARK, especially after they showed her fund being up 28% when TSLA was down 18% in the same period. Are management fees a little high, maybe, but the performance is well worth the cost of owning the fund.
