    Everything I've learned from Sublimation on glass cutting boards to assembling this etcher engraver was thanks to you. Love the step-by-step instructional videos. Made it a snap to set it up. Now I just have to learn to make stuff with it.

    Thank you so much for this step by step guide. You saved me a ton of time and frustration 😊

    The video is great and very informative but the feet are backwards LOL I built it the same way then look at the picture and realized they were in the wrong spot

      it is MUCH easier to bolt the laser to a base with the feet flange facing out. Position of the feet makes no difference on the operation of the laser.

    Just received my Z1 today. They must have seen all the videos about the manual because mine came with a very well written and detailed one as well as a user guide. This manufacturer watches utube lol.

    Thanks! Roger your video was very helpful and super easy to follow unfortunately the manufacture didn’t put the correct wiring together the power plug and pwn plug should have been wired separately but they put them together to make one plug, so I had to send it back and buy another Lazer Engraver, but again thank you, looking forward to seeing more of your videos , best wishes Margil Samaro 🙏✌️😎

      Hey! Same thing is on my laser, I got one wire for one plug both the Power and Pwm attached to laser head. Since opening I cant make the laser to work and I am dealing with customer service as having issues with Alarm 9, Alarm 1 and now even Error 24. Absolute nightmare, mine is out of date for return so I am just hoping to find answers online. When you send it back did you get replacement from comgrow?? Thanks!

    Hello. This was a great video. My question is. Mine was cutting at an angle. When I manually moved the laser head on the gantry from right to left there was greater distantance from the frame on the right side. How would i align my gantry so there is equal distance.

    Just received my !0 watt Z1. The video was very helpful to get started and to better understand the manual. One difference I found was in the way the legs were installed. The version of manual they now ship has the lags opposite being parallel with the outside frame versus this method inset some from the exterior. Any opinion on which might be better long term for balance and things.
    Thx great job.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Před rokem +2

      I mounted the legs "backwards" from what the manual shows in order to make bolting this to my base easier. Since it is bolted down, balance is not an issue.

  • @kaotik78

    When attaching the X axis it would twist the frame out of square. I had to adjust the eccentrics but now I am wondering if they are too loose as the X can move freely with almost zero tension or drag. Is there no real issue with this or does there need to be some resistance or tension on the extrusion?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Před 7 měsíci +1

      When held vertical, it should roll slowly from gravity. Too loose and it will mess up your graphics. Too tight can result in flat spots forming on the wheels, eventually making 'bumps' in your work.

  • @dennismason1187
    @dennismason1187 Před rokem +1

    Hey Roger, this was a great guide. Couple of questions; the x axis moves ok after installing the belts but there is a binding sound, like a zipper and it moves clunkily in a point or two. The wheels on the y axis seem okay. I have messed around with them quite a bit. Is the gantry supposed to be silent when it moves after putting the belts on? It still moves back and forth, just not easily like it did before the belts. thanks

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Před rokem

      Belts might be too tight, or out of alignment

    Nice video. I watched the firmware upgrade you posted and it appears you leave the SD card in after upgrade and deleting the file. Should the SD card be put in during the assembly also or is the just a way to keep up with the card?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Před rokem

      The laser works either way. Just a bit faster with the SD card installed

    Trying my first burn today. "Start From:" = "Current Position", "Job Origin" = left front dot. I load an image that came with it and it appears in the center of the screen in Lightburn. I click the "Frame" button and the laser moves around the front left corner the size of the image. I click "Start" and immediately get "Hard limit triggered. Machine position is likely lost..." I can find absolutely nothing about adjusting the limit switches or why I might be getting this error.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Před rokem

      When using Current Position, I always start from center and have the laser module in the center of the intended project before framing. When a laser has limit switches, I always work from Absolute Coordinates and have origin in the center. Try that and you should have no issues, but be sire to home the laser first.

      Most of the companies anymore send a few extra screws/nuts/etc. in case count is off or one has a bad thread. If you are short hardware and still have parts to assemble, then you were shorted a bag of hardware.
