*Great review Roger!* I would just add if you're going to use alcohol, it needs to be 99% IPA or you'll get micro scratches on the lens. A microfiber cloth is also the preferred method.
Roger, this video was very helpful! The instructions that came with it weren't clear and neither was the Comgrow CZcams video. If I may, I saw something in your video that you might want to double check.. My air assist kit came with THREE different air assist nozzles. The smallest was attached to the that black plastic bracket just like I saw in your video. The medium nozzle had two tiny screw holes on the top to mount to the black plastic bracket to replace the smallest nozzle. The longest nozzle has no screw holes on the top and is the same height as the red acrylic guard. I installed the longest nozzle because I figured it would be the same height as with the acrylic guard when I went to adjust the focus... Now, maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like you put the medium nozzle on in your video. Maybe you meant to do that, I don't know.. But just maybe your focus is off on your "Comgrow Comgo Z1". Forgive me if I'm wrong, but you might want to double check that. Thanks
This is a "universal" kit that fits many different lasers. Only one of the nozzles fit my lens and the focus is not set by that, anyway. I did modify the shield in a later video to fit after the air assist add on.
@@rogersshop my apologies then.. Thanks again for the great video!
They should have to include a modified shield with it. For safety reasons.
?? Do you need to clean the honey comb once in a while and if so what do you use to clean it. Thank you Roger for making sure everyone knows to keep kids and animals away from the light! Your are a great teacher.
I do clean the bottom metal sheet from time to time with grill cleaner (like for a BBQ). Have not had to clean the actual honeycomb.
The newest ones come with the nozzle attached & a modified shield
The newest air assist kit or the newest model of the machine itself?
Question, I just got a comgrow 10 W and I bought the air assist And I don't seem to have the same setup as the one you are showing On the 10W one that I got does not show the lens it has a black extension with the air input , to me after watching I don't think I need any of the nozzle adapters or any other shielding, I can use the Red shield without any mod's of course I'm old and dumb but alas it is what it is, (new Hobby). by the way no where did a mention of the 7mm piece of plastic, until I watch you I didn''t have any Idea what it was used for. Thanks
The air assist has a dial with on/off. How did you determine the dial setting?
If cutting, I run 100%. For engraving, I back it down to about 50% to keep the lens clean.
the air assist blows air. you really dont want that red glass cap back on because it will block some air flow.
I modified it in a later video and it does not affect air flow.
