The guy from the album art is their mascot Eddie, who's been featured on pretty much all of their albums and shows up in some music videos as well. You should check out their live concert videos, one of the few bands that make their live videos better than the album :)
And of course also on their plane, Ed Force One!
Also for more about this particular album art, in the time between Number of the beast and this album, Eddie got a lobotomy. Hence the padded room, split skull and name "Piece of Mind."

Iron maiden is one of the worlds premier bands, been a fan since 91 and im going to see them for the 17th time this july, on my sons 21st birthday.
Maiden have a decades-long year career full of classics. They are coming to the states for another tour in the summer. I saw this tour in England last year and it is BRILLIANT. I would suggest doing a live video. Rime of the Ancient Mariner from the Flight 666 film :D

The cover is a picture of "Eddie", a mascot of sorts that they developed from early on in their career that took off and even became part of their stage show. He's always evolving.
To be honest.. it is nearly impossible to find a bad Iron Maiden song. Two albums in the 90's had a different singer named Blaze Bayley.. I believe he was their third singer.. was not really a good fit for the band.. and even tho the songs to me at least.. do not stand up to the rest of their catalog.. they are not 'bad' songs in and of themselves. The vocalist on this album.. Bruce Dickinson.. is almost universally considered the be the voice of Iron Maiden. Not taking anything away from Paul Di'Anno.. the vocalist on the first two albums.. very talented and considered by some (a small minority of fans) to be the better vocalist.
I'd suggest the following songs by vocalist:
Paul Di'Anno - Purgatory
- Phantom of the Opera
Bruce Dickinson - Caught Somewhere in Time
- Dance of Death
Blaze Bayley - Futureal
- Lord of the Flies
This will give you a good idea of the three separate vocalist's styles... but is by no means a listing of 'best songs'.. because such a list is near impossible to make.

Iron Maiden changed members a lot in their early years and the band tried to figure out what they were all about. Bruce then became the lead singer and he's universally understood as the voice of Iron Maiden. Then he had to leave and Blaze filled in and I'm in the party that just doesn't like Blaze with Iron Maiden. Just sounds wrong. Then Bruce was back and its been awesome since. Paul Day was their first singer but was only around for a year. Di'Anno was also only around for like 3 years.
@@DarkKnightofHeaven Yeah I was pretty sure they had a vocalist before Di'Anno but I am not versed in their history at least not that far back.
Don't get me wrong about Blaze.. had he been in Maiden after Di'Anno left.. I would have considered Bruce's voice to be a wrong fit for Maiden, as Blaze would have been the voice I had come to expect.

Blaze has a very bland and boring voice.
They had 2 vocalists before Paul Di'anno, it's mentioned in the biography, Run To The Hills.
That said, Paul Di'anno was the 1st on recorded material.

Love this one, there are so many greats and sure you're inundated with suggestions. I just wanted to say, I was so happy to see this pop up on my page. Awesome reaction and glad you liked it, I do recommend a live performance because even now at 60 (drummer 65) they have more energy than bands half their age! An Iron Maiden performance is seriously entertaining. So I recommend one of the suggestions from Rock in Rio 2001 -it was an epic gig. I wore it out on VHS way back!

Oh yeah, and they don't ever seem to take videos down/copyright strike. Their official website commented on a reaction channel that I saw, just being fun and silly! You can use, anything it seems. Their site has official videos and stuff. Neither they nor the company seem to strike -they put out a whole live show from a couple years ago immediately for free on here and stuff. Really cool guys.

Fear of the Dark Live is amazing, you should check it out. The creepy zombie dude is Iron Maiden's mascot, Eddie. They use him so they don't have to put themselves on their albums. He appears in a ton of different ways on all of their albums as well as a t their live shows.
Oh yeah thats one of the things of heavy metal my dude, its a rollercoaster of emotions. Thats why most metalheads hide a golden hearth behind a hard carcass I can tell you from experience. They touch the feelings but they dont wanna feel weak, you know, most metalhead I knew are waaaaaay more nice than regular people in other clubs. I live in spain so I don know how it works for other countries but here? Metalheads can be really tough but if you feel them and they feel you theyre the sweetest creatures I swear.

You are looking at Eddie the Ed the mascot for Iron Maiden he's apart of every piece of Maiden artwork, from Ed Force one, the bands plane to their stage show, even had his own video game. Respect Eddie he's old than you are, lol.
This cover is after he was lobotomized after Number the Beast. The artwork collection is pretty impressive often with lot's of Maiden easter eggs embedded, the one for Somewhere in Time might have the most of all.
Get use to the timing changes, it's a signature feature of Maiden of songs, only group that might lean into more is Rush.
