  • This is why you struggle to hit straight golf shots 👇
    1. Your golf ball is not positioned correctly at address
    2. Your forearms are not in line at set up - BIG ONE
    3. Your posture is misaligned at set up
    4. You strike the ball too late in the golf swing
    5. You swing the arms around in the golf swing not up and down.
    What's great is if you have any one of these faults in your golf swing they are really easy to fix and can make an instant impact on the quality of your ball striking and your accuracy not just with your irons but with your driver too.
    For example if you want to hit your driver straight just getting the forearms aligned at address will be a real eye opener for you.

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
    Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
    I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
    On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
    Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
    I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

    Of all the slice videos this one was the most ah hah eye opening moment. It was all in the shoulders misaligned to the left causing terrible slices with my driver. Danny, I think a future video solely talking more about shoulder alignment and feet alignment causing slicing would be absolutely appreciated. After struggling for months trying every other textbook slice fix in the grip and swing, this one is what finally I think can say fixed it!

    Outstanding video Danny. The “opening the door” concept is EXACTLY what I found about two weeks ago that I was lacking to eliminate not only my slice but to add distance. I didn’t realize that I was gradually losing that coil over time and the tendency to slice was creeping back in. So, it’s now my primary swing thought on takeaway.

    GreT video, Danny. I have been struggling with what seems like a pull to the left and sometimes a severe hook. When you say “shuffle” are you actually shuffling everything to the right a bit? I usually have the ball teed up just inside my left heel. I’d like to see a picture from the side after you shuffle slightly and see where the ball position ends up. Thanks!

  • @gimenojean-pascal1659

  • @Dreveryn
    @Dreveryn Před rokem

    Thank you for this lesson this makes so much sense. I knew not lining up properly can result in hook/slice but I thought it would be opposite. I thought too far back would slice because the club face hadn't fully closed on impact, or too far forward the club face is too closed off hooking it. This helps me because I was having problems slicing then unintentionally exacerbating the issue.

    Great tip. Danny, would you not include the part 'from the ground up' - how do the feet/legs/hips cause the door to swing open. Also, you as a pro separate the right hip and the shoulder without thinking, but many students of the game do not.
    I am not sure I fully understand how the driver to the right caters to the late ball position. Is that the only reason or is that to a degree a visual phenomenon also?
    I have tried to understand this for a while now, so far not really understood the issue. Thank you for the video, I think it is very good.

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  Před rokem

      With regards driver. The golf swing is an arc and you are positioning the ball very late on the arc. Combine this with an upward blow and the club will swing around to the left and away from the target before it strikes the ball. Aiming right you could say caters for this

    Hi Danny, love your lessons! Can you explain the “shuffle to the right” for the driver a bit more?

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  Před rokem

      As the ball is way forward in your stance with driver you are set up to catch the ball late on the arc thus all things being equal you will hit the ball left of target if you don’t do anything. If you add a club face that is open to that path and you will also see a slice

      Tasmania Danny, the small island at the bottom of Australia. Cold, but the scenery is perfection, and the island has the freshest air and water.

    What a brilliant lesson. For a golfer resigned to a slice. It makes sense. Looking forward to putting your wisdom into action. I know there is no such thing as a quick fix, but the underlying reason in this video is made simple by your visualisation. Great job Danny, many thanks

    Love your videos Danny. Great instruction! I work hard at this and have developed a nice fade but still have issues at trying to hit a draw. I try to tell my self lag is your friend along with a square club face. Thanks Danny.

    Danny, I see Champions tour player Rocco Mediate now setting up with his right foot notably back in his stance, he draws everything now. Seems like an example of what you are suggesting for driver. Really enjoy the content, thank you.

    This is an excellent video and if you combine it with the video where you talked about pulling an arrow from a quiver, it makes a great combination and gives you the right feeling when you practice.

    Took this out today and really felt a change in my natural slice I’ve had. More straight drives and irons in one session. Swing alignment at 1:00 works.

    Fantastic Danny! You are really good explaining and transmitting every single concept. I strongly believe that if concepts are clear the subconscious mind will help you to coordinate a good swing, or at least won't be fighting against you! Well done! Bonus comment: I like your passion on avery tip!!! Thanks!!!
