Why 90% of golfers can’t hit Straight Golf Shots…

- čas přidán 23. 09. 2022
- This is why you struggle to hit straight golf shots 👇
1. Your golf ball is not positioned correctly at address
2. Your forearms are not in line at set up - BIG ONE
3. Your posture is misaligned at set up
4. You strike the ball too late in the golf swing
5. You swing the arms around in the golf swing not up and down.
What's great is if you have any one of these faults in your golf swing they are really easy to fix and can make an instant impact on the quality of your ball striking and your accuracy not just with your irons but with your driver too.
For example if you want to hit your driver straight just getting the forearms aligned at address will be a real eye opener for you.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Hello Danny a some content again. When you turn your shoulder for the driver where does the face of the club aim please ? Slightly on the right side of the ball or square?
Yep that's a lot like my practice plan.
The link does not lead to the practice plan but to a subscription option. There are two buttons showing Steps 1-5 and 6-x. Neither works.
@@anilmadan4976 it’s completely free, just needs your email so we can deliver the plan 👌
Danny is my go to coach. Never had someone explain fundamentals so easily. Watched one video and went from slicing my driver to crushing it straight. Best feeling ever.
Amazing Donne, well done
Played yesterday with our Sunday club and shot 41 points with 1 blob, I didn't slice the ball and hit my driver straight. Brilliant clear advice Danny and I am evidence that this lesson definitely works, as does all your tips... Thank you
I love it how your example of a slice was a dead straight nice little fade.
🤣
Great stuff. Best graphics on CZcams. Always easy to follow your instructions. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it Noel
Danny this video lesson is a complete package. Excellent love it. I am very grateful you are one of 3 golf couches on CZcams help me get better in my golf. I'm very interested to see in this lesson about the driver swing. Thanks again. This video I will mention to my friends. Bye
All the best Oscar
Best coach on CZcams! Your videos are like the ideal swing: easy and effective. They always make me see what I do to complicate my swing and how it differs from the ideal, and how to get it back. Thanks, Danny, you nailed it again!
Thank you Neil 😁 appreciate your feedback and support ⛳️👍
This was eye opening, and explained why a hit a slice when i miss. Thankyou.
Hope it helps
Of all the slice videos this one was the most ah hah eye opening moment. It was all in the shoulders misaligned to the left causing terrible slices with my driver. Danny, I think a future video solely talking more about shoulder alignment and feet alignment causing slicing would be absolutely appreciated. After struggling for months trying every other textbook slice fix in the grip and swing, this one is what finally I think can say fixed it!
That’s brilliant, check this one out too czcams.com/video/miXs_Oj_BzM/video.html
These tips seem great. I can't wait to get to the range and try them. I really like Danny's videos, the way he explains things makes so much sense. Big fan.
My God, what a great lesson. This makes so much sense about when you actually hit the ball. The driver tip is just pure gold. I hadn't thought of that at all.
Thanks Jay happy to help 😁👍
No1 channel for tips and coaching! Keep up the great work
Thanks Andrew very kind of you 😁
I had been struggling off the tee for a couple years. Watched your video yesterday. Absolutely flushed it off the tee today. Even hitting draws.
What a couch. 👏👏👏
Thank you
Well done Scott 😁👍
I have to say, I've only found a few videos out here that are as clear and concise about the basic faults in our golf swings. Great job. New sub!
Welcome to the channel Larry
After months of struggling with my driver skying it I've just tried in the last few rounds pulling my trail foot back slightly and swinging along the line of my feet. It helps me stop coming over the top
That’s awesome Steve
Great explanation Danny ! Exactly addressed whats going wrong with my swing often times.
Thanks for the picture and concept of the door.
No one simplifies the things while also going into detail as you do.
Sooooo helpful !!!
Absolute pleasure David, happy to help
Danny is a hero. I've been pretty much doing step #1 and #2. Step #3 for got me hitting crisp shots thru my bag. Thanks Danny
Thanks Stephen 😁👍
Never had someone speak so specifically on all my ailments unintentionally, can't wait to hit the range after this beauty
Have fun Mike, love to hear how you get on
Yes! I also felt like he was talking to me directly lol
😂 Same!!
I had a vicar whose sermon always targeted me.
Just what I need. Really makes sense. Will try these tomorrow.
Excellent video Danny! After viewing this, I feel it is one of your best! I am going to archive this for future viewing as I have done with other video's of yours! You're becoming my "go to guy!" Good Job Danny!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Really happy to help John
Thank you for all your videos. I have been watching for the past year. I have gone for shooting anywhere from 100 to 109 and now I'm consistently 85 to 89..of course I have told everyone I know to subscribe and share your videos. Thank you for making golf fun
Thanks Tom appreciate the support and happy the videos helped improve your game 😁
Another great lesson! I think I watched too many other instructors who talked too much and said to little to actually help me! Mr. Maude's lessons are the best I've seen - period! So simple and yet so HUGE! Thanks for these!
Thanks Bennie appreciate your support!
Brilliant clarity. Be in no doubt, this teaching deserves a million followers. I’ve been getting the straight left long and huge slice about 1 in 10 shots in play and this helps me understand why. Thanks a million Danny.
Really kind John thank you
Great stuff Danny. Always has such a simple way to relate the material. Whenever I have a hitch in my swing I come directly to your videos. 9 times out of ten it's because of tension and you always address that. Thanks.
Thanks Jason 😁
This channel is helping me. Thanks for sharing, Dan!!
Pleasure happy to help
As always with your videos so informative and brilliantly presented. You more than anyone on CZcams or anywhere else has helped me with my golf. I would love to see some videos on here of you on a course playing against someone as well, that would be really good. Having said that keep doing what you're doing, it's great.
Really hope to do that too Chris
Great tip for the driver. Never heard that before, one I'll be trying out.
Have fun Mark
Another great video Danny, thank you. Alignment is so important and with my driver, I pull my right foot back slightly to promote the in to out. It was scary at first, but I never hit a slice, just the occasional push. Keep up the great content and have a great weekend.
That’s brilliant David
Outstanding video Danny. The “opening the door” concept is EXACTLY what I found about two weeks ago that I was lacking to eliminate not only my slice but to add distance. I didn’t realize that I was gradually losing that coil over time and the tendency to slice was creeping back in. So, it’s now my primary swing thought on takeaway.
That’s awesome Russ
Thanks for this lesson Danny. I regularly slice with my driver so I tried your ‘shuffle’ at set up. I couldn’t believe how effective this slight tweak made to my driving. Straight up the middle with extra distance too! Best round I’ve had for ages! Thanks again.
Amazing John, well done
Great video. Really enjoy the use of the graphics and lines when explaining the swing
Hope it helps Williaz
Best explanation of the arc and how to master it. Thanks Danny
Appreciate the feedback Richard
Great video to understand the arc and ball positions differens between driver and irons and how important its is to have a in to out path with the driver to avoid slice:). Can you provide how different the swing plan is between driver vs irons and how important the alignment posture is.
Check this video out czcams.com/video/v-T0k9f0tZQ/video.html
Great video and tips as always!! Thanks Danny!!
Pleasure Brad, all the best
Thanks Danny..... I recognise all these flaws in my game! And what I thought were fixes were making it worse... More practise.. practise practise!!!!
Have fun Andy
Always look forward to getting your email on a Saturday morning. Excellent coaching and tips yet again thanks Danny
Really happy to help Alan
Thanks millions Danny, you're the most outstanding and adorable teacher in the world. I love and appreciate your precious lessons every time in Korea.
Really happy to help Chang
DM killing it again, this is one of your best videos yet mate, exquisitely explained.
CZcams’s number 1 👏🏻
Really kind George, happy to help
Another great video! Thank you for putting out all the content you do!
Pleasure Michael, happy to help
Thanks so much, Danny. I thought this but never articulated it, and you did it superbly. Nice to get a confirmation from a pro of what I was thinking. Cheers
Thank you 👍
Fantastic tutorial Danny. Hopefully this will improve my golf swing for straighter hitting. Can’t wait to try it out!
Love to hear how you get on Paul
I have learned so much from watching your videos. Thank you for your easy to understand instruction. Always enjoy taking the tips to the range.
Pleasure Wool 😁
Great explanation of the fundamentals and proper setup, Danny. You and Pete Cowan are two of the best golf coaches.
Thank you Bill very kind 😁
Thanks again Danny I definitely see loads of the faults you show in my own game so these fixes are invaluable 👍
All the best Richard
Your videos are terrific mate. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the support Dom
Another great bit of info that demystifies cause and effect of the golf swing, thanks for sharing
Pleasure Jim 😁
So good . The added graphics are great and the swing thoughts are great to take on the range.
Thanks Karnbass appreciate the feedback 😁
How is it, I've watched so many videos on golf and never had someone explain so simply why I hit my bad golf shots, either straight left or slice.
So glad I found your videos.
Love to hear how you get on, all the best
Great video as always Danny love the swing door idea
Hope it helps Jon, have a great weekend
This video was amazing I wish it was longer. I love the details and it definitely all applies to me
All the best Jamie
Finally a video that's actually helped me with my biggest problem. Thank you!!!
Awesome, happy to help
Well done Danny its always a joy to have these videos every week 👏 😀
Love creating them for you
Danny you are exactly right on on your comments on foot alignment on the driver. I slice the ball so I line up aiming left. I will feel really weird to shuffle my feet around to the right, but I’m anxious to try that. Thank you in advance for what I hope will be the tip to straighten things out or more amazingly - hit a draw!!
Thank you TN 😁
Great video Danny!
Really happy to help Geoff
Hey Danny, just wanted to say thanks. I was having alignment issues, with both left and right misses with driver. After watching your vids, my fairways hit has gone from around 35-40% to 75% averaging 250 yards according to my shotscope. My distance is also more consistent with irons. Thanks again.
Brilliant Sean well done 😁 thank you for commenting on your progress 👍
great lesson Danny thank you
All the best Robert
You are an excellent teacher sir. I'm going to the range and I'm going to incorporate this and will get back with results! Very excited!
Have fun Axel
GreT video, Danny. I have been struggling with what seems like a pull to the left and sometimes a severe hook. When you say “shuffle” are you actually shuffling everything to the right a bit? I usually have the ball teed up just inside my left heel. I’d like to see a picture from the side after you shuffle slightly and see where the ball position ends up. Thanks!
Danny you're great and you have changed my perception of swing. Thank you very much for that. I undestand my mistakes better. I'm going to implement your teaching at the driving and 7 iron.
Have fun
Have fun
Thank you for this lesson this makes so much sense. I knew not lining up properly can result in hook/slice but I thought it would be opposite. I thought too far back would slice because the club face hadn't fully closed on impact, or too far forward the club face is too closed off hooking it. This helps me because I was having problems slicing then unintentionally exacerbating the issue.
Thanks Dreveryn happy to help 😁
Great work as always Danny, thanks
Appreciate the support Thomas
The Master strikes again... What a great but simple to follow and understand video
Thanks Danny
Thanks Bux 😁
Great visual demonstration.
Thank you 😁
exceptional video Danny. Great illustration of what goes wrong when not addressing the ball. Little things to keep in mind. Stay well!
All the best Matt
The door-image is great. Finally my arm driven swing has gone away. Much more consistency and power. Thank you so much, Danny!!!
Awesome, well done
Excellent lesson! Thanks for this and the bonus tip. 👍🇨🇦
Pleasure Anthony, all the best
Thanks!! I hope this helps with my hooks on the iron shot's. Going to the range tomorrow and will try these techniques.
Thanks Luke appreciate your support 😁 let me know how you get on!
Thanks Luke appreciate your support 😁 let me know how you get on!
Fantastic video as always Danny, cheers mate
Thank you Andrew 😁
Great timing Danny, I just re-discovered my driver slice this morning….so a handy refresher! Definitely a bit too armsy. Thanks, as ever super tips
Thanks Rodger 😁
Excellent video , thanks!
Thank you AO 😁
Outstanding as always Danny, really appreciate your videos
Cheers John
Hope they are helping John
Thanks so much Danny. Great content as I've been struggling a bit with my driver (again, lol). Straightened me out, hit much straighter!👍
Happy to hear it Kenneth thanks for sharing 😁⛳️
Great tip. Danny, would you not include the part 'from the ground up' - how do the feet/legs/hips cause the door to swing open. Also, you as a pro separate the right hip and the shoulder without thinking, but many students of the game do not.
I am not sure I fully understand how the driver to the right caters to the late ball position. Is that the only reason or is that to a degree a visual phenomenon also?
I have tried to understand this for a while now, so far not really understood the issue. Thank you for the video, I think it is very good.
With regards driver. The golf swing is an arc and you are positioning the ball very late on the arc. Combine this with an upward blow and the club will swing around to the left and away from the target before it strikes the ball. Aiming right you could say caters for this
That "opening and closing door" is powerful imagery. I wish everyone knew about that.
Me too Adam
Interesting video Danny in relation to ball position. I believe i can sometimes have the ball too far forward in my stance without realising till I'm halfway round. Thanks as always. Have a great weekend
Thanks Jullian, it’s one reason why as professionals we work on set up so much
Hi Danny, love your lessons! Can you explain the “shuffle to the right” for the driver a bit more?
As the ball is way forward in your stance with driver you are set up to catch the ball late on the arc thus all things being equal you will hit the ball left of target if you don’t do anything. If you add a club face that is open to that path and you will also see a slice
Great video once again. Good job
Thanks so much Terrance
Danny, I save ALL your lessons, they are all very good.
This one is a GEM!!!
Will watch it and practice with it - MANY times.
Thank you,
Tom
Thanks Thomas very kind of you 😁
Great explanation , thankyou, let’s hope it works 😊
Have fun John
Thanks Danny, back from holidays and time to follow your guidance again.
Great to have you back Chris, hope you had a nice holiday. Did you go any where nice?
Tasmania Danny, the small island at the bottom of Australia. Cold, but the scenery is perfection, and the island has the freshest air and water.
@@chrisgolfer7528 sounds amazing, my wife’s uncle is a park ranger there
Brilliant tips never seen it explained like that before cheers.
Thanks Ourpea 👍
thanks for the knowledge
Hope it helps
I look forward to these videos thank you for what you do ❤
Pleasure Patrick
Do you have a video about ball position? specifically for longer irons
You’re actually a legend Danny
I don’t know about that but I am happy to help
Hi Danny, great Driver tip, I will be heading to the range today to practice my alignment. Take care
Love to hear how you get on Lee
What a brilliant lesson. For a golfer resigned to a slice. It makes sense. Looking forward to putting your wisdom into action. I know there is no such thing as a quick fix, but the underlying reason in this video is made simple by your visualisation. Great job Danny, many thanks
Thank you Gary, if you apply this lesson my hope is you will be able to change the flight from both a draw and a fade whenever you want
Dear Danny
I hope one day you will come to Italy and to have the possibility to take some lessons from you!!! Very clear all the time the way you explain and the way you try to solve our problems
Thanks Paolo very kind of you appreciate the support 😁👍
Amazing again. Thank you so much.
Happy to help Chadd 😁
As always, Great Video!
Thanks for the support Paul
Love your videos Danny. Great instruction! I work hard at this and have developed a nice fade but still have issues at trying to hit a draw. I try to tell my self lag is your friend along with a square club face. Thanks Danny.
Thanks John 😁
This is a near perfect video for us slicers. So good to be reminded of the swing arc and how it works!
Happy to help Zach thanks for the support 😁
For last two summers I have been slicing my diriver. My irons have been great ironically. This setup adjustment makes a lot of sense. I am going to try it out . Thanks Danny !!!
Love to hear how you get on Bunty
Great and simple instruction an tips. Well presented. :)
Thanks NP 👍
Hey Danny Hope Your well , I had Figured this Out about an Month ago Watching another Golfer that I had Started Playing With , He was Just smoking Every Club ,with Ball Position further Back in Stance than I Did ,and Oh My What an Difference and You have just reaffirmed it ,Thank You Sir ,so Much Cheers From Cincinnati !
Thank you Daryl appreciate you taking the time to comment 😁 happy the video helped you 🙏
Hi Danny, another great video, I live in Manchester which is a bit far to come for a lesson, do you ever do coaching sessions out on the road.
Danny, I see Champions tour player Rocco Mediate now setting up with his right foot notably back in his stance, he draws everything now. Seems like an example of what you are suggesting for driver. Really enjoy the content, thank you.
Thanks for letting me know John 😁👍
This is an excellent video and if you combine it with the video where you talked about pulling an arrow from a quiver, it makes a great combination and gives you the right feeling when you practice.
That’s brilliant Ed
Hi Danny, I've never heard to shuffle to the right and will try it. THANKS
Thanks David 😁
Took this out today and really felt a change in my natural slice I’ve had. More straight drives and irons in one session. Swing alignment at 1:00 works.
That’s wonderful Dave, well donee
So brilliantly again, Easy as that! Love it
Thanks Rick 😁
Fantastic Danny! You are really good explaining and transmitting every single concept. I strongly believe that if concepts are clear the subconscious mind will help you to coordinate a good swing, or at least won't be fighting against you! Well done! Bonus comment: I like your passion on avery tip!!! Thanks!!!
Thank you Javier appreciate your feedback 😁👍
