For those who dont understand how to do the midscreen 50/50 look at the color of the roman cancel Basically for same side delay the roman cancel so its purple, to cross-up do it immediately so its red

i also noticed with the midscreen 50/50 if you are as close as possible to your opponent and try the mix you will receive a cross up while if you are 1 step away from him you will get a really nasty fake cross up (ram will be on the other side but the attack will connect as if she was in the same side) i prefer doing this with j.K but i'm pretty sure you could get the same result with j.S
I use this to end those mid-to-corner combos when you trick someone with 5S 5HS 236HS if they try to run up and punish the H, and get hit by the 236H and it hits the wall, I followup with 236S like normal off the explosion, then as soon as I throw the sword I start running at them, jump, then I do jK jc jS j214S (with just her hands, since no swords at this point) The first hit of j214S wall plants, then the second hit breaks the wall, and it feels really good lol But if anyone has anything better I could do off landing a random 236H towards the corner i'd love to hear it. Maybe something that doesn't wall break so I can keep pressuring.
6:34 haha I felt that. imo Sol is the best character right now, straight up has everything: health, damage, normals beat everything and a lot of options. Yet no significant downsides like May or Ram have. He makes me really work it in the matches. Great content btw, keep it up!
Good info, I'll have to practice that TK input. So far I've just been using j.214S after hitting an air to air slash by doing j.S > dash j.k > j.214s. Seems like a good option when a full combo with a j.D follow up isn't possible.

If you space 5k well, you can jump cancel 5k into j214S and counter dp's with it. The first hit with hit during the i-frames of the dp start-up but the second hit will counter. You can beat some dp's if you're pressured into the corner if you jump cancel 5k into it.

I didn't see you do this and not sure it's useful, but you don't have to use a tk motion to execute this. If you buffer a jump with your 5K, you can just do the 214S and it will come out very easily. With this, you are able to have your jump be towards your opponent which allows for the second hit to land more consistently and you won't be pushed back nearly as far.
Great stuff man! Can you let us know about her rekkas? I hardly use them. I know they can be used as combo enders midscreen, but I feel like in most situations I'm close enough to the wall to just throw swords instead.
You def have to test vs 5p mash. Its an extremely prevelent option and almost any caracter can do it like sol did. I use 5p very often vs rams in corner and bust out
Tested it, 5K into J214S can be mashed out of but if you delay it it will punish 5P, also CS into J216S is true blockstring, example section has the opponent set to mash 5P in order to see if it's true or not

Could you tigerknee it into a forward (2149S) or neutral jump (2148S) instead when midscreen to try to combat the pushback of c.S and get a better mixup?
Correct me if im wrong, but what makes the 50/50 mix go left or right is the purple rc vs the red rc right? Meaning there's a preemptive visual cue as to what side you're gonna land?
It's all about how much you delay your airdash after RC that determined where you land, for Purple RC since J214C pushed you back and Dash PRC gives you forward momentum you'll either land front or back depending when you press your JS
I'm using an OG Matcatz TE2 since it works on PS5 natively and i do not recommend it at all, it has sharp edges and hurts my wrist, I would recommend an Qanba Obsidian if you want something on higher quality side since i got to try one and it's amazing, My PS4 stick is a QANBA Q4RAF with a brook converter, it's an old stick but very comfy and served me for 8 years now

idk if damage is better but you can simply follow up with c.5S > f.5S > 236S(HS) loop until wall break. I've found it's reliable.
Can't think of a specific route, but I've found Calvados occasionally doesn't wall splat in some routes. Could start there.

You can check the dustloop wiki for guilty gear Strive, it's still a work in progress though for some characters

I know your plus usually when you yrc when your opponent doesn’t block but what move do you use to follow up after you yrc as ram obviously

Sometimes 2d works but it’s not always consistent or 6p
If your opponent YRCs and block it you can go for either 5K or better CS since it'll counter-hit
