This game was like watching paint dry. Both goalies played great, sad that it had to end in a shootout.
Hahaha….tell me about it. Boring is a understatement, even the shoot out felt dead, like the place was a ghost town.
Minnesota is famous for it's snorefest hockey.
Not a bad result, as Canucks get a point from the game. Previous encounters, it was always losing with nothing. But that was perhaps the best example of how not to play OT. Neither team showed any guts or willingness to test the goalies.
At least DeSmith continues to prove exactly why he deserves far more game time than he's gotten this season. 6x games doesn't do justice.
Dunno what ur talking about, this is Desmith’s 10th game played
@@seanworre1l Even if it was indeed 10, that's still not enough. That's less than a third of the games the Canucks have played this season. And even after just 10 games, he's 11th in the goalie stats across the entire league. That speaks volumes about him.
Thats because we have a superstar goaltender in Demko... @@conorcahill5422
@@conorcahill5422i see what you’re saying, but desmith falters when he’s overplayed. Demko is our star goalie period. Previous years he has had to play way too many games. This year, 10 games in 30. Give or take 25 ish games for desmith and thats a hige load off demko’s shoulders. When we go to the playoffs he will be ready
Those were absolutely garbage attempts by Vancouver on the shootout!
Pretty solid goalie battle up until the shootout as well.
Agree Petey and Miller looked awful. Going to blame it on the time start lol
Damn I thought you were over exaggerating until I saw the shootout attempts 💀
The wild look like a bunch of pickles skating around 😂
Not sure what I hate more. 3 on 3 OT or Shoot outs.
Yeah, they make the game finish way faster but it feels like a coin toss.
they should just get rid of the shootout its gotten more and more boring over the years i swear
mad cuz lost
Have to agree. I've never been a fan of the 3 on 3 OT format and I'm not a fan of having a shootout at all. Both were implemented to ensure a winner, but as a fan it feels like a loss.
@@J_Dawg90 Shoot outs are terrible. So bad in fact, I might hate then more than 3 on 3's.
@@J_Dawg90 me? i dont care for either team homie try again 💀
A great victory for the Wild. The Caucks move one point closer to Vegas.
Yah but should should Vegas keep winning, that 1 point closer becomes 2 points farther(maybe even 3).
As a Canucks fan, my vocal cords are kinda sore after watching the entire game from shouting. I was literally having a panic attack at the third quarter and at the overtime, hoping for the Canucks to win for the second point before the time is over, especially when they get power plays.
Ultimately, this game was a disappointment. Watching the Canucks fail all five power plays and missing all three shootouts is ridiculous.
Congratulations to anyone who stayed awake through whatever that was.
This reminds me of the Wild team we saw last year in Vancouver that gave the Canucks so much trouble. I remember they absolutely smothered the Canucks in a a very clinical 4-0 win. Not sure where that team went In the first 20 games, but this looks a bit more like the team I expected to see.
Wild fan? I agree wholeheartedly as a Nucks fan, they completely own us of late. That 2-0 win we had wasn't that telling after they blitzed us in the First in our own barn. Minnesota since the Coaching change looks 'Wild'. They were missing two key pieces back end also.
@@brizzchizz7302 Canucks fan. Paid good money to watch one home game where the Wild completely take the crowd out of the game before it was even half over. I didn't pay to go watch another that season.
Kuzmenko got the handles he needs a try
Man, do I hate shootouts. What a stupid way to end a TEAM game. One of the multitude of reasons Bettman has been a curse to hockey.
Is soccer any differ? (Worst way to do any pro sports)
Only the nucks would ever play back to back days with morning starts, imagine of the makemelaughs had to start 1 single game that wasn't their own timezone? Or even back to back on the road?
@@lndependentMind aww. I delate no more. I delate no Paul. Late no doubt delate. He....he....I don't know what it means
GGS Wild. Well that wasn't the Canucks playing at all. Slow skating and not too aggressive. Lets see how Chicago goes. GO Canucks💙💚💙💚💙💚
Wanted to watch this game but NHL network take this game away… same with my caps tonight. STREAM ALL THE GAMES. OR STREAM NONE
It is so weird to see the Wild in North Stars gear
Solid win for the Wild! They've been playing great since Hynes took over. Let's go Wild! Keep it up fellas.
Those Minnesota jerseys are awesome
I thought the color on my device was out of whack
Son of a Gustafsson
Gustavssonson.
good W for the wild, handy V.C seemed " not at the races", which probably makes that a decent pnt for them.
Should be a one and half minute video
Pettersson needs someone skilled to play with. Seeing him out there with Mikheyev and Lafferty hurts my soul.
Mikheyev is very skilled, Lafferty not so well but he's been playing well recently
Yes, I think they need to put Kuzmenko back on that line... I like Tocchet otherwise, but leaving Kuzmenko on the fourth line is not the best for him or the team...
@@seamusoleary3712 Kuzmenko was taken off that line because he wasn’t playing well. If he starts playing well I’m sure they’ll move him back
@@johnnybaxter1953 : I understand that, but he's playing better... when in a tight checking game, changing up the lines with more scoring talent might be a good idea.. i agree with the original poster... pettersson's skill set might be better suited to a real sniper.
Question for you analytics guys: how does the %age of games decided in OT this year compare to previous years? I feel like it's way higher, but what do the numbers say?
Small sample size is small from my cursory glance at this and last year's standings/records, but we're on pace for about the same (actually a little less) OT games as last season. We're about a third of the way through the season and there have been 95 OT games so far (according to Google and adding up OT Loss columns). Last season saw 293 OT games in the regular season if Google is indeed accurate. Rough math would make us on pace to see about 285 OT games this season, if we're estimating that we're about 1/3rd the way through the season.
the arena seems very quiet? can hear the players more than the fans in these highlights
Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild wins in shootout against J.T. Miller and the Vancouver Canucks 🏒🟢🔴🟡
Minnesota Wild went up to 12-12-4 (28 pts.), while the Vancouver Canucks move to 20-9-2 (42 pts.)
Minnesota Relish
Браво воротникам! Вытащили игру, аплодирую стоя!!
You guys let Canucks off the hook.0 for4 on power play.Shootout was abysmal.Looked like they never practised before. They all sucked!!!!!!
Honestly both wanted to steal this game but gustafsson was the one that did it. Good game Canucks they got a point
Both goalies*
thats the sign of a good side, collecting pnts even on the bad days. 82 games makes a long season, gather pnts & aim to peak post-regular season!@@TotallyDzvil
Защита у рыб мощная, видна работа тренера. Гол- это практически единственный провал у них в обороне. Минипуты кувалдой взламывали защиту рыб: набросы, дальние броски, индивидуальные действия, а по другому никак не получалось.
Wild finally looking better
the coaching change seems to have had the desired effect!
They need to bring back tie games so everyone can go home on time without all this silliness
I’m in favor of the tie too. Plus we get accurate standings instead of all this circus crap.
Should have put the hometown kid in the shootout toch
So there are no more ties really? Can't they just put 5 on 5 for 10 mins in OT? If nobody scores, the teams were evenly matched that night and move on with a tie.
I heard on the Radio after the game, the commentators were casting blame on E P. Hmmm I thought who else did not have had a good game? I also thought playing a game of Hockey was a game team sport! The Nucks could not score on the PP, and could not score in the shootout!! Way to go Team!!
North Stars playing better lately.
cant even pronounce Kirill Kaprizov's first name correctly
Gus 🚌
I hate shootouts!!! Just do continuous OT!
Can Petterson do something? He should take whatever the Canucks are offerinf him because hes not playing any better
Continuous 5 on 5 OT was way better imo 😢
for how long though? until a team scores?
Yeah, then hop on a plane, get 3 hours of sleep and suit up the following day. That ain't gonna happen.
Pumpkin Pie!
Oh well got 1 point at least.
Что с дисциплиной! Вчетвером выиграть невозможно.
Bring back the tie, but after 10 min of 3on3 ....dreaming abit i know.
Canucks first period blues. But after that got it going.
I honestly hate shoot outs lol
That was woeful to watch
skol wild hum now bois
bring back the tie, whats wrong with that?
Hi
How Sportsnet can get 10 mins of highlights from this snooze of a game baffles me.
Too many replays. Come on, Sportsnet, we don't need to see replay after replay after replay of non-scoring plays. Just get on with it. Boring.
I hate shootouts!
This doesnt change the fact that you can make lots of money betting "maple laffs and deadmonton coilers wont win the cup this year"
surely better bets going than them 2 almost certs? do u understand the odds process? & i ask in all sincerity
Leafs and Oilers definitely have a better chance at the cup than Vancouver.
@@glennhankins6927Leafs yes Oilers no
@@glennhankins6927 Oilers aren't even in a playoff spot, but please continue.
@@ponchopyro3314 It's an 82 game season, Einstein. Vancouver will collapse in March and Edmonton will pass them.
I speak for the team and my self 11am games can not be a thing plssssss Tom again at 11am who makes the schedule canucks play so many back to backs in the first have of the season its ridiculous and the canucks need to learn how to enter the zone on the powerplay cause last couple games its been abysmal but it was a good game boring but good structured game hopefully we give bedard a little more to complain about Tom at 12pm NHL hates us on the pacific
Why did canucks send the worst shooters for a shootout?
Who would you have sent?
@@justjacksxnHughes, Boeser, hronek or any other decent shooter.
Got a point shoot outs are lame should be a point each
Miller is great but..Please TAKE him off the shootouts..../
Nice NHL good job setting up a game with an afternoon start in a different time zone. What a snooze fest hope they dont do that again
Hope? The Canucks literally play tomorrow at noon. The schedule people really hate the Canucks.
@alexwinter3272 I mean the forcoming seasons can't really change the schedule now.
Another pathetically boring shootout 😂 worst part of any NHL game
trade Kuzmenko
this game was just painful to watch. the OT was trash and shootout (as always) is just infuriating. these slooooooooooow shots are just not entertaining
Canucks r chittt!1!! This should’ve been an easy win. Not vgk has to lose 2 MORE GAMES INSTEAD OF ONE IN ORDER FOR THE CANUCKS TO PASS THEM FFRICKKKK CANUCKS ARE #1 IN THE WEST
The wild are the most consistently boring NHL team of the 21st century change my mind…
Sleep walking
Was such a good game...then it went to a stupid shootout. Ruins the entirety of the game. Shootouts ruin every single game. They also dont make sense analytically. Like how does winning in a best of three breakaway challenge result in winning "2-1". The wild did not score 2 goals. They scored 1, then the shootout.
Always love the salty leafblower tears 😂
The animations on the boards are a travesty. Great sport, garbage league.
Both teams were dreadful. Zero bodychecks thrown in the whole game?......bring back the 1980's please. This was amateur female hockey at best.
Simple reason the Canucks lost is because they always lose morning games. Also doesn't help when your powerplay is pathetic. Time to bench Hughes for once he's horrible on the powerplay. Always makes the dumbest passes instead of the logical one and 99% of the time when he shoots he misses by a mile or it's blocked.
