M.F. Luder Unfortunately, they probably will have other dogs, and treat them just as badly. Have you seen the video of the girl putting her dog in a clothes dryer, and turning the dryer on? After the dog was checked out for injuries, it was given back to the girl, pending charges against her!!!! She doesn’t deserve to have another dog, and neither do the people who abused and ignored Maisy.

The previous owners calling the dog ugly is wrong I agree with you, they were just mistreating her. However the weakness of the dog is not appearance but in her utility. What value does she bring to the home. It is understandable that she can not be a breeder, but how about at least a protector. It doesnt seem like that either. At the very least can the dog take care of itself, and from the looks she does not and tears up furniture. She can be a very good dog but needs to be disciplined more so she doesnt cause more work for the owner. On the positive side there is very much potential there but the owner has to help the dog to help herself as well.

All jokes aside - truth is dogs can smell fear hormones, sadness hormones, angry Hormones , chemical imbalances, sickness ....you name it they can smell it...if fact your sweat tells them what you had for dinner last night, and they can always smell it if you've been drinking/drugging. Our problem is most of us don't know how to decipher the message our dog is trying to tell us. With proper training (us and them) maybe we can. This dog has realized that her woo wooo woooooing makes her "Mommy" smile and release happy hormones, and she wants to make her "Mommy" happy.
I trained my dog to say "I love you" so well - that when I recorded her and took it to work - everybody swore it was my voice . She could also say- "Mama" - very plainly. They know what they are saying. For her real surprise - one morning - after hearing me opening the door every morning and telling the puppies "outside - everybody OUTSIDE" for about a month --- I was laying down with my elbow hanging off the bed - and she came up to me and nudged my elbow with her nose. I told her "Just a minute, Judy, Mama's tired" and - I swear - she said "OUTSIDE" in a gravely tone but clear as heck ! Needless to say - I jumped right up and let her outside !!! I think that Maisy is trying to say sentences !!! Have you seen the dogs on You Tube pushing the buttons on the floor that say words in order to answer the owners questions ? Like - the owner asks the dog - "what do you want?" - and the dog pushes the button that says vocalizes the word "treat". Then they ask it other questions - yes or no answers - dog pushes the right button to answer those questions too.... They know what we are saying ----we just don't know what they are saying ! She needs to get some of those buttons for Maisy. You have to put the response button in the same location every time though, so they don't get tricked up. After all they can't read the word on the button, or tell it's color - that's for our benefit. (Dogs are supposedly color blind, but I don't necessarily believe that, and if true - surely colors would appear as different shades of grey.) But anyway , I think you record your voice into the push button - with the word you want it to stand for. I've got to get some to train my dog, if I can find them ! Just imagine how they could be used !!!!
The inventor is going to get rich ! The possibilities are endless ! Now why didn't I think of that ??? Dang.
P.S. - Obviously some dogs can smell things better than others (bigger noses = more scent glands).

I just lost my little girl Pitie mix of 13 years. Broke my heart. I adopted a feral male cat we had caught on our property. We had him before my girl passed, but I was busy with her. When I started working with him, he was used to us, but no one could touch him. He's now my buddy.

I'm 74 my wife and i have had fur buddies for 45 years all good dogs we lost our last dog 5 years ago my wife brought a rescue pitty home shes the best dog we've ever had dogs are wonderful
To lose her dog, then her dad, then her mom in such a short time is unfathomable & crushing. Maisy was there for a reason. Thank goodness that wonderful dog is out of that breeders prison for good.

My grown Son went Kayaking and running from the shore, thru the trees, came a beautiful Pittie someone had dumped by the river. He brought her home, to the vet and now she is his Bighead Baby. Two different colored eyes, ice blue and brown. Such love, such goodness. Thank you.

Imagine losing your dog, your dad, and then your mom in such a short amount of time. Now THAT is rough, respect for carrying on and picking yourself up.
That happened to me. Darling Dad first, then my 17 year old dog and then my beloved Mum. Believe me, it IS tough and very, very hard for a long time. I have another beautiful dog now and I don't know how I would cope without her, she's my life.

I lost both of my cats died last year, one having cancer and one where we were unsure but it could have been from being a bit old. They were at least maybe 11 years old, the one who had cancer was 11 but we are unsure how old the other was probably about a year or two older at most. It was very difficult for my mom when they died and she sometimes brings them up when talking which is a little annoying but I can see why she does it.

@@TinaO-pn7jx To me if you take care of a pet as good as we take care of our selves, is what pet ownership should be. I can't stand pet owners that don't take full responsibility. I live in the country with BLM Land, Up the Canyon at the end of my road. I watch many that take their dogs up to walk/hike. These dogs when they drive by are so happy for this and on the return they are happily exhausted. Its really great to see this. My pets have been strays that were dumped at the Canyon.

Some people need a specific dog for a specific purpose, even if that purpose is to be a companion dog. I'd never bring a random dog with a random background and past into my house. But hey, more shelter dogs for you.

Massive has brought you JOY.....the same thing that our LULU brought us when she decided to adopt us and come to live with is , Lulu is a gorgeous fluffy black and white cat . I lost my job and then my Mum ten days after and then my Dad nine months later ( prior to this we'd lost out 18 nd half year young Buburayam ( aka Tom the ginger cat and my husband swore we'd not get any more cats as he was so heartbroken) so when alulu came to our door miawing to be let in it was the best day ever....she's been with us since and we've moved house , she loves the huge garden here, she follows my husband like a companion all round the garden gree house etc and he is convinced she has come to us from God to give us so much JOY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a sweetheart this puppy is; I'm so glad they have each other. Very sweet doggo Mom too! My heart always sinks when I see their ears chopped off. I will never in a million years understand how someone could do that. Her prior owners did that and also said she was ugly - this puppy is adorable!
The breeders usually do that when they are still puppies. I don't like the practice at all, though.

My grandfather told me to watch how people treat their animals it will show what kind of person they really are! I firmly believe this still to this day!
Your grandfather was a wise man, that’s absolutely true!!!!!!! Now at 53 an animal lover especially dog, I learned that early in life, then taught my children and now my granddaughters the same truth!!!!!!
Growing up, my dad used to say if you bring someone home and your dog (or cat) takes an instant dislike to them, there's a reason. Get rid of them, pronto! Truer words have never been spoken.

A lot of those people usually have trust issues toward other human beings though. They're great to animals, but not so great to people. Not the best way to conduct ones life.
