They focus on speed and adding options like this clutters the browser and slows it down. The customizability of chrome comes almost purely from extensions. They're not going to slow everyone down for the few people who want this option. Those few people can find an extension and decide for themselves if the clutter is worth it. I will definitely be trying this extension out.

Unfortunately, I did not find this easy to use. If I was starting from scratch, sure, or only had a few dozen bookmarks. If I could have simply dragged my existing bookmarks in instead of having to redo them all, I'd use this. But honestly, there's lower tech, lower effort ways to do this if you already have hundreds of bookmarks: -Use firefox for inappropriate bookmarks, or a browser other users are less likely to login to. Then you can use Chrome when other people are looking over your shoulder. Not to mention I believe Firefox itself has more options/extensions right out of the gate for hiding these, so bonus -Use a different windows profile for inappropriate bookmarks -If you know someone will login or you have to share, export your bookmarks, delete them all (if you've got a single subfolder, then a bunch of subs versus putting everything in the main bookmarks, this would be faster). Reimport them when the other user is done. It sounds like work, but honestly, it takes about a minute

guys another fix could be to just sign into a second gmail in chrome (without it having bookmarks) and use that one for browsing. Close chrome and reopen and it will ask you which account you want to browse with. this is where you can between your 2 accounts to get your bookmarks back or continue without them showing up(using the second account). to use incognito mode, make sure you select the proper account before opening incognito mode. to switch between accounts. makes sure you have all (non incognito) chrome windows closed

Did you add your bookmarks to the secure bookmarks extension from scratch? Or did you export the bookmarks you already had? I tried to do the second option but it was not possible
I found how to do it, but the bookmarks are still there as well as the suggestions to my bookmarks every time I type in the address bar. This extension doesn't do anything.
@@TavoC20 This extension worked fine for me, you have to move the selected bookmarks or the folder to the extension for it to work. if the suggestions in the Omnibox is a bookmark it will have a star on the left side of it, if it has a globe icon you can select it with arrow keys and hit Shift + Delete to remove it
@@sneakywombat5287 I ended up solving this by choosing to have a different bar. Choosed duckduckgo bar instead of omnibox. There are other options, i choosed this one cause privacy is basically its thing.
It stopped working as soon as I exported the folder,, I think killed it compacity because I own thousands of bookmarks 😭😭 Edit: Nevermind I got it up again ✌ Edit: It took more than half of the files I've been collecting for forever and it doesn't work,, anyway gonna go have a mental breakdown now

this app fucked my bookmarks and messed up the organization completely, whil crashing multiple times during my attempt to import/export

There is a chance that all the bookmark folders will be saved after importing in and out of the extension, but not the links themselves. No fix.
