Vinnie Vincent + Ace Frehley + Bruce Kulick = First Time Playing Together (at Creatures Fest)!

- Witnessing real KISSTORY! Here’s my short video of (looking at the stage, L to R) Bruce Kulick (1984-96), Vinnie Vincent (1982-84, during the transition out of make-up), and Ace Frehley (original member, 1973-82, Reunion 1996-2002) -- lead guitar players for KISS, jamming together for the first time ever!
Their rendition of "Deuce" (as seen here) is from the first Creatures Fest in May, 2022.
You can see Vinnie on top of a replica of the tank-turret drum riser used by KISS in 1983.
He started the show from there about 30-minutes earlier (as the doors opened) and he was already blazing a solo as the crowd jammed into the room.
Bassist/singer Shane Smith, who performs as Gene Simmons in the KISS tribute band "You Wanted the Best," joined Vinnie on stage to add vocals.
Here's where things get crazy/amazing: the three, on stage, together! It was great to see and I'll always be grateful we were able to be there.
NOTE: I only found out later, we weren't "supposed" to take photos/video of this particular show. I'm happy to share what I did get this special night -- with you!
Here's a great follow-up article including how Bruce feels about the three playing together:
ultimateclassicrock.com/kiss-...
Regardless of what people say about the guitar playing, or Vinnie Vincent in general....it still is really cool to see all THREE of them on the same stage at once 😎
He kinda looks like a zombie 🧟♀️
To make it more official, only 2 are missing in the show. Mark and Tommy. That would have been awesome if all 5 lead guitarists were there... Mark wouldn't be able to be there because, I think, he passed away.
Except nobody cares about vinnie, he's not a shreadder, he's a noisemaker. I Totally agree that Ace and Bruce would be very cool to see.
I absolutely agree with you. It's another moment of KISSTORY!
Bruce is the steadiest among them these days.
Wow, as we get older, we realize our time is limited and it is time to bury hatchets and let bygones be bygones. It is very special to see all three former lead guitarests together on the same stage. Wow!
This!
Agree😎
No doubt and once you get past 50 you start to realize how limited it really is. where is the drummer though?
I'm not sure these 3 have had any issues with one another, the issues for everyone (except Bruce) is with Gene and Paul.
....and as I get older I question what the hell am I doing listening to this crap
I Love Vinnie, Ace, and Bruce!
This has got to be the coolest event in rock history!!! Kudos to all three for doing this for the fans!
Best footage of this oddity so far
This is a moment where all the stars and planets aligned. Never thought I would live to see the day where all 3 legends were on the same stage for the first time ever
2 things: 1. Bruce needs to write a book about his entire career. I want to hear/read what he has to say, and 2. The tension on that stage must have been palpable; Ace & Bruce are always cool, but VV is a wild card...never know when an unplanned 10 minute solo is going to erupt .
I would love a book from Bruce! Also, here's a follow up article with his thoughts on playing with Vinnie and Ace: ultimateclassicrock.com/kiss-creatures-fest/
Vinnie could from out of nowhere go into a ten minute solo but if yet to see or hear him do any of that Vinnie Wizardry from days gone by Have you seen or heard Vinnie smoke an amazing 80 ‘ s style solo ya know , the awesome
kind of super fast fingered ,
string bending , fret flattening ,
( as gene has said ) sounding like a bunch of angry bee’s ,
pink & purple double
king v guitar molestery that we Vinnie fans expect from our favorite pharaoh virtuoso
Bruce said in an interview that VV insisted that Ace and Bruce play the solos.
She can't play advanced lead...never could actually but now can barely form chords...no wonder kiss fired her
@@richardlawson6787 VV's masculinity looks like John Wayne compared to fruit booty Paul Stanley. 😳
What a treat to have these guitar legends rocking out together 👍🤙🤟🎛️🎸🎛️🎸🎛️🤯🎸
Ow Bro !! How exciting to see Ace, Vinnie and Bruce playing together .Goosebumps here !!!
Very, very cool to see All 3 guitarists up there, together. That's Awesome !!
😐👍🎸🎸🎸
I love that Vinnie decided to be Vinnie no f's given .
O my god, what is this fresh hell!!!
Rare and very cool moment in KISStory!
Vinnie has all the stage presence of....... Kulick in 84 :D
Vincent has the stage presence of.....a confused statue.
Bruce is the best of them all now!
This had to be so cool to see live.
It was amazing!
@@Super1234Star what was so amazing? the part where Vinnie kept the fans waiting 90 mins? the rules again any recording of this special performance? huh?
@@Super1234Star you are amazing
@@javtimestwo Were you actually there? And if so, why?
All attendees received an email noting Vinnie would be first and the show would start late due to the crew putting the tank together. I stand by my use of the word, "amazing." I'd call the entire weekend an amazing time!
Also, here's a follow up article with Bruce talking about this performance: ultimateclassicrock.com/kiss-creatures-fest/
Mark is looking down, saying "I should be there with them."
That’s just awesome.👍 Looked like Bruce was ready to do the three guitar swing thing at the end but no one else remembered!
Pinnacle of KISSTORY
Bruce kulick deserves to be in the rock & roll hall of fame. Him, Vinnie, both erics were snubbed
Funny to see 3 former lead guitarist of kiss in one place playing together.
That sounded amazing !! Thanks for posting...
Never would have known it occurred!!
I can’t stop watching the video as it crushes kiss and show. Show was stellar I heard they may continue as a power group. Vinny in charge
I love Ace and Bruce. Vinny straight up cant play. He was never a great pro. Good co-writer but couldnt write alone. And the fact that he hates drummers and wont play with one is just weird.
@@rticle15 vinny is the best noted guitar player in the world right now top rated. He only uses berries and juices to wash his hair. That’s why he is so healthy and natural. Never any chemicals
Vinny is noted for writing the entire catalog of Kes as a silent partner.
That is really awesome I never thought I’d see it but amazing playing and amazing entertainers
Best video I've seen with Vinnie at Creatures Fest! Watching it from backstage and side stage instant the same effect! Thank you!
Keep rocking gentlemen
Awesome!
Wow 🥰, ese maravilloso proyecto lo hubieran realizado desde hace mucho con todos los ex-kiss
That's awesome
Very cool 💯🤘🏼
Too much history!!!!!!!!!!!!!💢
vinnie is looking better, more in shape. Always a fan of his style and the drama lol
It was sad that Mark St. John died in 2007. God rest his rock 'n' roll soul! 🤘🎸
That's so cool !!! I became a KISS fan between Asylum and Crazy Nights so Bruce Kullick was the guitar player and I have always thought he was a favorite guitar player and just a very likeable guy. Vinnie Vincent I think is what helped make Creatures of the Night so kick ass along with Eric Carr's drumming. And of course Ace Frehley, my favorite guitar player of all time. In my personal opinion I think Bruce Kullick is the most talented of them all but there's something undeniably awesome about Ace and his guitar playing. Too bad Peter didn't get to play with them all but still very very cool.
my goodness Vinnie been hitting a gym hard, well done, looking fuc'';in Badass!!! Sounding killer too !! yay
These are the three guitarists that had (besides $tanley) impact on the Sound and Style of Kiss! All the others had to emulate a certain style. Maybe except Mark, his time with the Band was too short, I guess.
It dosen’t matter how long you wear the make up. It’s about what you create while you wear it 😉🤘🎸
Absolutely!
The only other guitarist there is is Tommy who is forced to be an Ace clone.
So all others would be just one person, Tommy Thayer?
Lol. Mark played on one album and Vinnie played on one and a half. About the same. Bruce and Ace played on 6 and 10 respectively.
What others??? Mark St. John and Tommy Thayer?
You make it sound like the LA Guns members total to Kiss guitar players
Bruce is the only one that can still play at this point. It's cool, we age!
Ace can play; he's always been sloppy. Vinnie can't play.
Ace was hired because he had the right look, but Bruce was hired because he was actually a great guitarist lol
How can you say that when the video everyone is watching completely disproves that statement? Ace is a pioneer. Bruce is a glorified session guitarist. Plenty talented, but he didn't create or inspire a single new thing in his mediocre career. Ace is a hero to multiple generations of musicians. He has a style all his own because he was totally self-taught. So nobody can play like him. Bruce just tries to play like everybody.
@@jasondelvaux3036 Just say you have no taste and aren't a musician. It's okay.
Maravilloso
Saw Vinnie on his 2nd ever KISS performance
Awesome. Ace is like the big foot tracks that are found out in the wilderness and everone who is lucky enough to find them puts their foot on top to see how much smaller they are. Yet, he shows up and plays with the replacements.
it would be effing insane to be there...my next life perhaps
Love ACE
Inside their heads...
Ace "I'm gonna blow the roof on this motha. I'm the star!"
Bruce "I could embarrass Ace by doing this song 10x better, but I'll play nice and just strum along."
Vinnie "I hope nobody notices I can't play guitar or that I'm not even plugged in."
přesně tak, souhlas !
Wouldn't it be great if these 3 started a group together and competed with Kiss? I bet they would draw a lot of fans to see them instead of the Yet Another Farewell Farewell tour.
Yes and call themselves Smooch

And from the heaven play MARK ST. JOHN (RIP), too!
The best Vinnie Vincent
Poor Bruce Kulick hes very talented and Ace is a Hall of Famer and they both are playing on the bottom with Vinnie V cheez in out on top of the tank. Halarious🤣
I think ace always plays on the right side of the stage
@@chriseagan7337 They had to have paid Ace alot of money to do this .
Why does Vivian always wear the makeup?
Wow, great point. Now that I think about it that way, I'm stoked Vinnie gets to be top dog in the cheese fest. To see someone whose been beaten down for so long... standing up top like that warms my heart.
@@BadWolf762 he's wearing makeup ?
RIP Mark St. John
Ace was the sound & soul of Kiss.
Bruce was the most technically gifted player.
Vinnie had the sexiest bras.
That tone is Ace's own
I'm bored to tears.
I hear ya
Then you should go watch Paul Stanley lip synch on the "End of the Road" tour. Gene will take your money.
@@edstylc2441 I wouldn't waste my money on that either.
~ Vinnie ~
"Do it" says Ace in his best Peter Griffin.
Well the 3 best kiss guitarist
*WHERE IS THE DRUM SET? VINNY IS STANDING WHERE THE DRUMMER SUPPOSED TO BE WTF?*
Where are the drums?
Who’s on bass, Danny from Counting Cars?
that's right, now he's just counting cash.
Why was there no drummer again?
Makes me want to take a duece
What a coincidence, I just did.
Vinnie still the best!!
It would have been really cool to have Tommy Thayer re-string and tune all their guitars for them,...maybe also stick around and break down the rigs after the show.
lol, good one !
and after he's done tuning the guitars, maybe he can grab the boys some refreshments.
Maybe used Slow Mo Frehley and never got anything fixed. Was Vinnie plugged in at all. I think both Bruce and Tommy should get more cred.
And get Pete his spaghetti
This just in, Tommy Thayer will dress as a tank for the remainder of the tour. Carry on.
Super cool but where in the hell is the drummer set up at?? I've watched 2times and don't even see a drum kit????
It must be cool to see this in person because you got Ace Frehley who is the original guitarist of KISS then you have Vinnie Vincent who replaced Ace, then you got Bruce Kulick who would basically be in KISS for a good while being a good replacement.
Personally, I can't tell the difference between Bruce Kulick, and Tommy Thayer...
Why was Vinnie so high up beyond the other players? He should be below Ace for sure and of course Bruce! why is he celebrated as a God? I dont get it!
$$$
Because he was the lead guitarist in KISS for the Creatures Tour maybe???
Because it was called creatures fest and vinny was the lead guitar player during that era and also Ace and Bruce had already did their solo sets this was Vinnie's set
@@pewsterbaby I can agree with that but why was Ace on the cover of Creatures? I know Vinnie played most or all of the songs, but why is he above the other two? The other two contributed more than he did to Kiss!
@@MrSonordrumr Ace was on the cover because their new record label, Polygram, had a stipulation in their contract with KISS that three original members had to be in the band in order to retain their royalty percentage. They didn't want another big departure like Peter Criss' ending up with a less popular new member like Eric Carr again. Plus, when Creatures came out, KISS hadn't really even settled on who was gonna replace Ace anyway, so they'd have been at a loss as to who to put on the cover. Vinnie's place in the band hadn't been decided on yet. They only went with him for the tour by default of not fining anyone better. Lastly, as to why VV is atop the Creatures tank ... It's because it's the Creatures STAGE. Ace and Bruce never performed on that 1983-1984 stage. Only Vinnie did. He played 55 shows on it for Creatures and another 93 for the Lick It Up Tour (which still had the Creatures stage too). That's 148 concerts atop the tank for Vinnie and zero for Ace & Bruce. It's HIS stage.
This was way cool. Good for these guys. But was Vinnie actually playing? It didn’t like he was playing rhythm parts right and i zoomed in? 🤘🤪
Kulick w the SG, yes!
Wait, did they all do the bop back and forth thingie???
its great to see them alive nplaying together to all the haters , i dont watch this man, love all kiss stuff, they should of played mark st johns album to pay respect to him, that would b really cool
Animalize?
Too bad Mark St.John wasn't still around. Could you imagine if he was there too?
Where’s the drummer? I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️
This is rough. Ace is charging way too much for his Detroit show
No way. When was this???
Un Real.
Wondering who is that bassist on left corner standing tall ? Some guy look just alike G ene Simmons acting performance?
Where is drummer?
Seems like he's afraid to get to the front of the stage he wants to stand on top in the back
Was Aunt Vinnie even plugged in?
By far the best guitarist is Vinnie for the past decade. He only still uses juices and berries for his hair
Funny how Ace is there promoting Vinnie - it is Vinnie center stage and up
Was Vinnie even playing??? Couldn't even tell!
Is that The Count singing?
This stage-"scenery" is more Spinal Tap than Spinal Tap's whole movie.
NO SPIMMMMAL TAP HERE !!!! WRONG CHANNEL
is Vinnie ill or just terribly out of practice? he seems so slow and focused, but bruce and ace really seem to be enjoying it and bobbing along
I honestly just think he doesn't really play much guitar anyway more. When's the last time was seen actually shredding like he used to? It's a shame, because the first VVI album is amazing.
Wanted 2 go 2 this 2 c Ace, then heard Peter was gonna join him. But then saw $175 price tag & thought not n a million yrs! Not here 2 shit on it (tho I am glad from what I've seen I didn't waste my time & money), cause this made so many fans dream come true & is a Kissstory milestone that the rest of us will never experience, & is ALL that matters!!! But seems amateurish 4 Nashville. I think most of that had to do with whoever tf put it all 2gether. They should prob b fired, cause anyone from here could've done a better job w/ location, backing musicians, & sound. Really here just 2 mention a little trivia 4 the die-hard Kiss fan that I got 2 c the Creatures tour here n '83 at 11 yro & it wasn't announced till the Sunday b4 the show that Ace had been replaced (thanks Paul & Gene!) by a one, "Vinnie Whiz"! I should still have the newspaper clip n a scrapbook somewhere? So glad u got 2 go, girl! U get 2 go down n KISSTORY!!! 👏 👏 👏 Rock On, mofos!
🤟😝❤
I'm not going to down them at all. I just spent a year recovering from a stroke. I went from the Eng tech that could solve everything to nothing. Missed almost a year of work struggling to function for a whole day. Finally in the last month returning to what I would call normal. Life can kick anyone's ass so you better remember that while you talk shit.
Who's on drums and where is he?
ive said it before i think all the ex members should form a band & record songs, Record an Album
Why?
I know what Paul will tell them to call this band ….. uhh rhymes with Kiss
@@giraffesareselfish9563 the question for you is why are Giraffes selfish? LOL
@MetalHeart8787 because they just run around looking out for #1
Bruce holds the whole thing together the other two guys don’t know what planet they’re on.
Now this was the kind of thing i was hoping for at the FINAL shows at MSG. Nope....just the same old set.
*WHO WAS THE WOMAN, DRESSED UP TO LOOK LIKE VINNY VINCENT?*
I realize this is like a crazy thing like Charles and Marylin Manson jamming, but wtf? Have some drums and bass up there. Just have them all dressed up like the Green Man... just SOMETHING... hell, I can play those parts on bass or drums, and I'm primarily a guitarist and only a little into Kiss. Lol. I think Ace and Peter were the best part... just do what the real Kiss does, and put a drummer and bassist up there... miming.... using Styrofoam instruments... all painted green too. I played at a campground about 8 years ago, and our drummer didn't make the gig, which was 3 hours away, so I made the roadie set up a drum kit.. the keyboardist and I programmed all the drums before the set, and then extended the jams... And something happened that never happened before... A lot of people compliment the drummer!! He wasn't very well lit obviously... Nothing on the stage was actually... so wasn't a big deal that the drummer wasn't lit... But he pulled it off... There was just enough drum leakage for it to sound real.... Even if the leakage was all pretty much off beat. Lol And nobody knew. Not one person. Even the people who ran the place said wow that was interesting. I've never seen a drummer play those electric drums before... He was good! Lol
Where was the drummer?
Band should be called "Ace and the Replacements".
Really blows that Mark passed away before this happened....
Where's the drummer ?
Who's playing drums?
Did you like "Sister's Doll"?
Yes, Spanrz, I actually love Sisters Doll! Very talented young men we had the pleasure of meeting at a KISS Expo in NYC when Peter Criss was the featured guest several years ago. Obviously, they are HUGE KISS fans and friends of the Criss family, but they also have some terrific originals. It's just good rock and roll!
I wish these 3 would go on tour... call it. 3 Kissman Tour. The Spaceman+Guitar man and Transitory man. ...fckn killer🤘🤘🤘🤘
It was the right call not to bring Ace back during the last tour. This video and the more recent one from Eddie Trunk’s birthday proves he cannot replicate his own sound !!!
His talents have faded away into this!!
So sad to see the once mighty guitar hero of KISS let his talents just fade away!!
Where’s the drummer?
