Aussie living in Canada here. Watching this literally brought a tear to my eye. After years of useless pre-game and half-time entertainment, the AFL has finally got their act together and brought a truly exciting live act to the Grand Final. Finally, AFL grand final goers have got their money's worth. No politics, no BS. Just a good live show. Reading the comments, I can see a few Americans commending Kiss's performance and saying they wish they had Kiss at a Super Bowl. Man, how humbling is that! I'm so glad everyone got to enjoy this. I think Kiss just acquired an entire stadium of new fans. 74 year old men in those costumes in 30 plus degree heat, with enough flames to heat half of Russia for an entire winter, rockin’ out like that! Nothing but respect.

@@ronnyvandyk4244 Yeah the first half a dozen KISS albums were really great in terms of the raw rock n roll swagger, energy and the hunger they had in their music especially on albums like Dressed To Kill & Rock n Roll Over, for me . Hotter than Hell was I thought a pretty good album but the production on that album could have been better. I don't like Destroyer as much as those KISS albums as it's too polished for me due to Bob Ezrin production role on that album. I liked some of their post makeup albums a lot in the - Lick it up, & Animalize albums. Creatures of The Night was a good strong solid album from them that deserved the commercial success it didn't get in my humble opinion.

I never saw them play live, but my cousin has. Hopefully he went to their concert, along with his wife and teenage sons and they all dressed up in Kiss costume for the occasion.

I certainly agree mate. I had chills watching it on TV at home! I grew up with Kiss as a kid and I'm now 50. Memories of Countdown here in Australia with Molly Meldrum and Kiss playing all them years back came flooding home! To see them all those years later still so awesome made my day!

I seen them as a kid In 2003 my mom is a die hard kiss fan but seeing them as a child was the most special experience ever.. people say super heros don’t exist.. go see kiss n thst will change.. watching Tommy do his solo as a 12 yr old it made me wanna be a rock star.. the way paul controlled the audience with his charisma and moves.. Gene demon solo scared me but also made me wanna see more i believe Peter chris was there his solo and singing Beth made my mom cry. Saw them in Atlanta in April, 2019. It is my first and only time to see them and they were Awesome! Sure wish I had seen them in their heydays. They sure did upstage every halftime shows during all those Superbowls here in the U. S.

I was at the game ! It was 30 C when kiss came on and I swear with all the flames and rockets going off I got wind burn ! You could feel there heat ! For older gentleman , They Rocked the EARTH ! It was a hard fought game by both sides.

One of the greatest ever pre game entertainment shows ever seen. Pauls voice was incredible, the dancers all wearing Kiss gear and the mini Kiss group was just magical. An incredible highlight in their 50 year career.

I was lucky enough to attend the GF this year. I was totally sceptical about dragging these aged rockers out for the pre-game show. I was wrong. They were brilliant. Absolutely fabulous. The kids made all the more special. Yep, the killed it alright.
Me too, I was sceptical, but they rocked the hell out of it, I don't care if they had back up stuff, they put on a PERFORMANCE, just like Robbie last year. We won't talk about half time...
They dragged them out like an old pro wrestler,,,,, same sorta "act" too...they acted like they were playing fabulously...

This was BY FAR the greatest pre-game show EVER at a VFL/AFL Grand Final. BAR NONE. Almost the entire crowd was head banging or singing! Richo was in his element doing the interview. Farewell KISS.

100% it’s the first time I’ve ever watched an AFL pregame and said wow that’s actually right up there with the Super Bowl halftime shows and I’m 30 years old so it’s not exactly like Kiss are my generation, but they did an awesome job all around. Kudos to the production designer too.
@@annetessari1004the all around production for Robbie was not on this level. Robbie was one man and a mic for the most part. This isn’t The Voice, it’s about more than just how the band sounds. It’s how everything comes together. The dancers, the stage design, the smoke and pyro, the set list, the lighting, the costumes, the choreography. Everything was great.

I saw Kiss in 1983 at the Superdome in New Orleans. Kiss threw thousands and thousands of doubloons ( coins that the Mardi Gras parades throw). It was an awesome show.
My brother loved KISS - and if I knew that he would leave us way so soon, I would have moved mountains to make his wish to see a KISS concert come true. I hear the music, and know that he is at a forever concert. I miss and love you, Todd - and you will always be a part of me. 💖💖💖

When I mentioned Kiss yesterday, one of my twin nephews thought people were going to start kissing at the Grand Final (he and his brother are going through a "kissing is yuck!" stage). Let me write this down for historical reasons. But everyone in Australia thought they were going to suck. This was due to previous (recent) years where we'd got some big name American artists out of retirement (hi Meatloaf) who couldn't even remember their lyrics, let alone have a voice anymore.
So then KISS is announced and mostly everyone sighs and really doesn't expect much.
But the video speaks for itself, they nailed it.
Not into Robbie Williams or Kiss but the last 2 years the AFL could not of got it any better, both were brilliant.
They were supposedly signing Cold Play or Lizzo to perform, both declined, so they got the second best, so they say, but I like KISS better than those 2, good enough entertainment.
@@higherpurpose1212 Coldplay have some good songs but not any that would hype up a game of football. To Lizzo all we can say is thank god.

It was incredible I remember in 2015 I saw them live in Brisbane a the Entertainment Centre I got VIP Backstage pass and when I say Gene walking pass I was like holy crap how tall are those boots will never forget it. Sad that this is their last Australian show
The vocals and bass are a track and I'm pretty sure the guitars are as well.

@@rydermckenzie3524 There are several moments where what they're "playing" live isn't on the track and/or they forget to mime parts that are on the track.
At 7:40 Eric plays two notes on his snare that aren't on the track and at 9:18 when Gene sings crazy he clearly cuts it off well before the note ends on the vocal track.
There's a bunch of other examples but those are two of the more obvious ones.

@brin57 I think it shows what a tough gig it is to pull off. Playing in a big open sports arena. And so distant from the fans. This showed that we need a BIG theatrical performance.
Last years was excellent as was 2017.

Saw them in 1979 and again in 2006. They have aged well. 27 more shows and its over on Dec 2nd. They were my childhood heroes and im glad they still rock hard. Best pre game entertainment ive seen.
