    I have been watching videos on both of these. I am a former Ninja 300 and ZX6R owner, so I am going to get both.... I will get the Ninja 400 to get back into the riding habit and keep it, then buy a ZX4RR when I am back into peak riding form. When I had the ZX6R, I just missed my 300. I still do. So, I will get a used 400 and then buy a ZX4R after a year or so of riding again. I love both.

      @@unlockmypassword I never got bored of my 300. I just lived in Alaska and it was going to take way too long to get a new ECU, so they bought it back and sold me the ZX6R. I missed it the entire time I had the 636. Also, I will use it for running all of my errands. The ZX4RR will be for fun riding. I like smaller bikes.

      Sounds like a solid plan, and something I could do as well. Might get a used n400 then maybe get a new ZX-4R after a year or so. After all - I think its more fun riding a slower bike fast, than riding a fast bike slow 😂 (as I'm not a really a fan of riding insane speeds lol)

    Honestly it's almost a shame that the Ninja 400 is such a great beginner bike since it tends to get typecast as such. I've been riding off and on since I was a kid, everything from dirt bikes up to big Harley baggers. Just got back into riding after about six years off and got a KRT Ninja 400 and I have to say, I haven't had this much fun riding since I was a kid racing about on my Honda dirt bike. It really is just a blast to ride. Riding position is great (too many worn out body parts to spend any amount of time laying on the fuel tank) but you can still tuck in or lean through the corners. Even with the price point suspension this thing will carve a corner as much as you have the nerve to go. I laugh when people on the internet say it won't do highway speeds. It loves to cruise between 80-85mph and I've had it up to 115. Now to be fair, it accelerates hard (for a 400) up to 100 and after that you're just flogging it which thankfully it doesn't seem to mind because, yeah I flog it a lot. Also: Kawasaki and their "Don't exceed 4k rpms for the break in" LOLOL

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for sharing!! Great info! As far as their, "Don't exceed 4000 rpm" it's interesting because my Z900RS SE had that for just a few hundred kilometres, while my Versys 650 had that for longer if I remember correctly. But yeah, 4000 rpm is a very different experience on my 950 cc four cylinder bike than it is on a 400 cc twin cylinder. I'll never say that you shouldn't break in a bike according to the owner's manual, but it's much easier to stay within those parameters on a bike with a bigger, more powerful engine, for sure!

    • @gpd456
      @gpd456 Před rokem

      @@PeterLoweOne The 4k rpm break in thing is pretty much just Kawasaki covering themselves. The shop foreman at the dealership (knowing that nobody is going to keep it under 4k because s-l-o-w) simply said, "Vary the rpms and don't redline it until after the 600 mile break in service". This is the way I've always broke in mine and it's a pretty good practical/realistic guide for the average person to follow since once again, one of these bikes at 4k rpm = you're going to be getting passed by Super Cubs LOL

    Zx4rr detuned for USA market. Simple tune can make 70 plus horsepower at rear wheel vs 55 at rear wheel standard. With a pipe approaching 80 horsepower with a powerband like a 600 zx although a few less ponies and torque. It’s an expensive motorcycle but with a tune and pipe could be a beginner bike that you keep. Not a huge change when move up from ninja 400 to Zx 600. This bike definitely powerful similar to a Yamaha r7 if a tune and pipe.

      I would always recommend the Ninja 400 to a new rider. I think you'll have a blast on it, and it can teach you SO much. The Ninja ZX-4R is a very limited edition model for this year. It's going to be harder to find, more expensive to buy, more expensive to insure, and frankly, for a newer rider, it will be so far beyond your skill level, you probably would be paying for things you can't benefit from. The Ninja 400 is a great bike that you can get on and enjoy from day one, and really grow into, and continue learning on. I've been riding bikes since I was 16, and I'd still love to have a Ninja 400 in my garage.

    Zx4rr is about 5.5 pounds per horsepower. A 2023 Corvette z06 is about 5.6 pounds per horsepower. The standard Stingray model is about 7 pounds per horsepower. Remember that next time you call these bikes slow.

      This would be all the super bike that I would need! It's hard for me to tell if this would be "enough" speed for someone else. This one is certainly quick, but it's more about a fun overall experience. It's much quicker than what you have, but in a straight line, the ZX-6R is going to be quicker. So it's tough for me to judge.

      @gpd456 Před rokem

      Go sit on both (assuming you can find a 4rr in stock somewhere). When it comes to pretty much any 600 super sport you're going to be laying on the fuel tank all of the time. If you're fine with the riding position a ZX6R probably makes more sense as far as the price point goes.
