      What year was this bike manufactured? Also is it 200 overall including all the different colours? I am looking at buying one and the VIN has L as 10th digit = 2020. Suprised they were out in 2019.

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  Před 2 lety

      Hi, you in the UK? I am looking to sell mine.
      I believe they were made in 2019 but many were unsold until later. Mine is a 2020 so it has all the updates and is very reliable.
      There are 200 in this yellow and 200 in that blue version.
      Let me know if you have any other questions. Superb fun bike.

    Enjoyed the content and enthusiasm Ade, thank-you. Not seen ‘the missus’. Perhaps is in a vlog I missed. She sounds rather anxious about your antics. Perhaps very sensible? I do like your new bike. Hard to resist opening the throttle and I imagine needs a great deal of self control. Which you clearly possess?

      Ha, well, I dont know about control. Keep having accidents. I was not kidding. I cannot mention my motorcycle or this channel in front of her. To be fair, she was the one who had to look after me when I have a bad crash 4 years ago and the Police came to her door asking if she knew me then rushed her to St Georges trauma centre thinking I was dead. :(

    I really wanted one of these but then i was concerned about reliability for daily rider.
    Im looking at an MT10 sp now but for the same price i can get the mv dragster. The dragster just looks amazing

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  Před 3 lety +2

      It is a tough decision. My dilemma was possibly worse as I was looking at the Streetfighter, Tuono, Z H2 and Super Duke R too.
      I didnt consider the MT-10 SP as I had an MT-09 SP and I didnt feel it was a jump up enough for road riding. The 09 is more fun at normal speeds actually.
      With just these two to consider. I will be honest.
      The Yamaha is terrific value and that saving is a bargain as dynamically, with the SP suspension, the Mt-10 might actually be the better bike. it is also more comfortable, cheaper to run too.
      However, put these two bikes side by side and there is no choice at all IF you can reach the premium price. You have to own a bike like this once in your lifetime.
      I can say this. It is 10 times better looking, twice the fun, you;ll get 5 times the attention and you will feel like a god riding it :)
      It also 'feels' faster up to about 80 MPH. It is super light and the gearing and inertia is amazing.
      Feel free to ask any other questions. I have done 1100 miles now from new, no dramas. The reliability of the 2018+ bikes is a lot better with the foibles sorted out. There is also a strong 3 year warranty as they wish to back this up.
      If you are near Surrey, UK, then you can come and have a look at mine.

      @@maffdiva Great news! I do recommend Powerslide Motorcycles in Stoke. I travelled hours up there just for their service. Tell them 'Ade from WhichBike sent me and hoped you could do some deals!' :)
      Might work. Ha.
      I have to add in fairness. I have been out on all of my shortlist and the bikes in order of how 'good' they are is still:
      1. Super Duke R
      2. Streetfighter
      3. Tuono Factory
      4. Z H2
      5. MV Dragster

    Hahahahahaha....I'd say you bought the Right bike for the Wrong reason and now the bike's punishing you for it, but then again it could just be the wife's voodoo!

      Ha, you are not wrong. Or maybe not. My thoughts on this bike with more and more miles are changing per ride as it settles in. It was brand new.
      My next review, at 1000 miles, will be very interesting!
      I;ve been on the Streetfighter and Super Duke R since and I can deifntely say they are 'better' bikes but, damn, this bike just oozes character.

    A clunky quickshift is not a good thing

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah, I struggled to find the right word.. Ha. It is not clunky in the negative way but in that there is a secure solid movement, not wishy washy.
      One the very best quickshifters I have come across and one of the few things that the MV has over rivals.

    Bike for small people, You want a Mans bike ? Ducati StreetFighter V-4S-220-HP . Did you watch the MV fall apart in Moto2 yesterday? I would never trust a Motorcycle Company that has “Motorcycle Art” as its slogan. Art hangs on a wall and gets looked at. That FireBlade you rode last week is 1000x better bike than this. My MV Dealer is Shady AF, bikes are too expensive for not having any wins in Moto-GP

      I went out on the V4S last week. Sounds superb stock, very comfy, fast in the high revs. Loved it. It did miss character and it wasn't that much 'fun' . I though the SDR was better when i rode it - just looks not all that really and it needed an Akra.
      You'll find all these reviews really honest. Too early to diss the MV. Incredible fun, sounds the best of the lot pushing on and yet still art. 950 miles. It may well go wrong but I understand the risks. I would not get an MV as an only bike!

    So apart from looking absolutely amazing the bike is shite? Lol.
    Just polish it and stare at it.

      Nono, the bike is fun and for me , for this style of bike (i.e. not a track bike or a touring bike) that is #1. Mechanically and dynamically though it is not on a par with the Super Duke R, Tuono, Z H2 or streetfighter. I have ridden them all now bar the Z H2 which i am riding in the week.
      It's still a bike, all bikes are these days. Just comes down to what it important for the person in that bike.
      As it happens though, I have not put on just short of 1000 miles and the bike is dramatically improving which may be typical of the brand, more so than others perhaps. So my short term review might be more positive.

    This over a 1290-SDR- HELL NO !!! The KTM is 100,000 x Better than this!!! MV will fall apart and be a headache to own. I see used bikes with oil leaks under 1000 miles.

    • @RevMonkey
      @RevMonkey  Před 4 lety

      I rode the SDR yesterday. Review going up next week. Awesome bike. I really really liked it and would have been delighted to own it.
      At 4K cheaper than the Streetfighter V4S it looks to be the bargain of the bunch.
      As you will see on my video coming up. I do confirm, and have always maintained, that ALL the other bikes on my shortlist are 'better' bikes.
      It's not always about that though. Over the next videos I will hopefully make you realise that the MV has special qualities!
