Im new to salamanders and 30k; loved this battle, thank you. I have a couple questions...Covenant of Fire RoW has a limitation where you must take a centurion with the Legion Champion Consul upgrade. I didn't see that in the army list?? Also, on the first turn why not shoot the Aiolos missiles too

Pyroclast have invuln 5+ to melta, plasma, flamers n vulks. And not sure if wall of death applies to melta mode for the pyro flamers?
I loved this batrep! Thankfully, this one didn’t have a “feel bad” shooting reaction like the last time the Salamanders were in the vault. Shooting reactions is one of the worst aspects of HH2.0. This batrep was just fun!

Great report. Just one thing you chaps seem to have forgotten the 5+ shrouding for night fighting.
Warpfire plasma blaster is an assault 2 weapon. I think the Core Book FAQ from a few months ago says that Pinning tests are taken after the Reaction is completed. So Return Fire and Evade would still go off. If you want to run a No Corrupted list it wouldn't be a bad idea to take more Warpfire plasma support/heavy teams for good anti-infantry/Dreadnought. Also, I don't know if it was rolled but the Salamander's legion reaction requires a test to be made at the end of the Assault phase if they lived.
Hey, I figured I'd ask professionals because I've seen so many different rulings. When I roll a 1 (gets hot) with plasma, do I roll to wound myself, thus giving it a chance to (breaching) on myself?
No, you automatically get wounded at base AP.

Great word bearer showing! Ashen circle was first to meet the ash, but the terminators became the drake skin on gal vorbak plate! Fun tit for tat! Great watching

Edit: also the plasma would wound on 3+ and -I think - breach on 5s.
The breach roll value shouldn’t change, but they should have been wounded on 3s
@@scotmabrey4868 if you're reducing the wound result by 1 wouldn't that mean a 4 would be a 3 and therefore not breaching?
@@adamjones5363 breach happens on a to wound roll it’s not changed by modifiers for the to wound, just like Rend would not be affected by a to wound roll modifier.

As someone who don't play 30k or are even that in to the 30k lore, I have a question?
Why do the space marines look more like primaris than first-born?
Isn't this supposed to be literally ~10k years before primaris was engineered?
It's just a similar looking iteration of Space Marine armour
Mk10 armor (that primaris wear) looks really similar to mk4(maximus) pattern armor.
But mk 6 and mk 3 look wayyy different.
Cawl took a class on cleptomania.
The Primaris marines where a type of armour called mark 10.
It incorporates design elements of armours used during the heresy.
Example the helmet of the mark 4 a 30k era armour, well it's design is on Primaris.
Terminators are heavy infantry for assault so resemble gravis somewhat. And marine in general share design elements.

Aioles missile launcher cant shoot at an other target anymore... It just doesnt need line of sight with it... useless realy
Its still ok for pinning checks w/o line of sight with guided fire
@@JH-ci7gu yea but if you dont have linenof sight with the deredeo, only the missile launcher shoots, and thats a lot of poinrs for a pinning check
