All his offers from major colleges were withdrawn. John Thompson of Georgetown was the only coach to give him a chance, where he was ultimately drafted from. He came from a rough area in Newport news, Va. He was the first player who wore braids, tatoos and brought a hip hop culture/street culture to basketball. He is basketball legend. He molded what you see today in mostly all the new generation of players. He deserves every last bit of it. No I didn't have to read his bio. He was my basketball idol growing up. I literally studies his moves. As millions of others did.

I met Iverson back in July in Charlotte... He lives here now that he's retired. I was walking into the Mall and through the food court and walked right past a guy sitting alone at a table drinking a .99 Polar Pop from Circle K. I stopped for a second and thought to myself....Damn that dude looked like Allen Iverson. I did a double take and sure enough it was A.I. chilling in the mall doing his own thing. He saw me recognize him and he waved me over and I got to meet him and chat and take a picture with him. About that time everyone else in the food court recognized him and they all swarmed around him for pictures.....Super down to earth dude. It's so cool to see an NBA icon just mingling among us acting like me or you and being willingly approachable.
I met him Him when he was still playing in Philly. And DC was on the team they had a game here against the Pistons and He was at DC mom's Crib just chilling in the Hood kicked it with him and DC .But i wasn't star struck with DC cause i use to See him all the Time by me Staying a block over from him.But AI i was happy like a kid on Christmas morning.

I met him working valet uptown Clt in 2018. He was watching March Madness at Hooters and I worked at the hotel across the street. Got to drive his Bentley truck and we ended up waiving his parking fee. I wanted to chop it up with him since he was always my favorite player growing up but he was always on facetime with someone talking shit.
He wasn’t always approachable . He was on some bs in Philadelphia when he played there
I saw AI with his crew at the Harrahs Cherokee Casino at the roulette table where i heard he plays there once a month. Im from Philly myself and i walked up to him to say hi and he was so laid back and gave me a fist 🤛.
