As a Philadelphian who grew up at the time when AI was doing his thing, I’m just so grateful to have witnessed this man night in and night out. All heart. Relentless. He embodied this city.
Amen to that! Same here…those times in Philly were special
Kobe said it best “ You guys are lucky he’s not 6'6" inches. RIP KOBE.
Kobe always kept it solid
6'6"
He would have been a souped up version of Jamal Crawford
@@icyboy771zdelusional
@@icyboy771zwhat you smokin 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I still think Iverson is the GOAT still to this day.
Me too
Me too
Pound for pound AI is definitely the GOAT.
And he was just as nice in football. The man was just talented
A true ATHLETE
Nicer. He was up there with Mike Vick in highschool.
@@sav2232 Yes & no. For me & you he was a true athlete. For others it's the partying etc. "a real athlete" would never do, keep body healthy blabla. I the end, AI was AI 😅 Would smoke alot of "true athletes"
My hero growing up. He was the reason why I fell in love with basketball to begin with. Very few people had that impact on my life.
samee
Same
Same❤
It was Kobe for me
Same here bro
nobody can guard that man in todays NBA
IN ANY NBA!!!
Totally grateful to be a Philly fan when it comes to AI. Seriously, he dominated and he was 5'11" 160 lbs.
6"
@artimis409 I am from Philly and met AI a few times at TGI Friday's on City Line Ave, one of the places where him and his crew use to hang at for a bite to eat and some drinks, he is more like 5'11 but regardless of his height the man is an absolute Beast and Legend forever.
4th in all time mpg.
No one comes close to the toughness of Allen Iverson, not even the big guys. He influence a whole generation of people. Normal folks playing street ball imitated him. That's how special he was.
Watching Iverson play in Philly was something I’ll remember forever. Last Sixer player to do that.
last player to be memorable?
@@philagon For me, most likely. Players like Dr J., Barkley, and Iverson, who gave everything they had out there, don’t come often. I’m lucky enough to have seen all of them play in Philly. I doubt we’ll see anything like them for a long time.
@@chris7574 Okay, that's what I thought you meant. What an indictment of the load management era.
Name 3 sixers Ervin Barkley ai all I can remember
@@jrmccall1785 Andrew Toney Maurice Cheeks Moses Malone. Refresh your memory? How about a G Man Jumper from Mike Gminski??
We Love Allen Iverson He Has The Heart Of A Lion
Heart if a lion LOL. Shooting a ball into a hole RAWR!!!!
I have never seen a more fluid athlete in all of sports than A.I. It was like he had roller blades on the court.
The man who perfectly synergized STYLE and SUBSTANCE.
It was dope to hear D-Wade glow about A.I. the way A.I. glowed about seeing MJ in person for the first time.
Allen Iverson had the biggest impact in the NBA ever. He set trends so many trends from the sleeves, headbands and many many more that the rest copied and followed. Such a big impact in the World he had in the NBA. One of my Goats ever.
Hands Down the most electrifying athlete of his generation and it is not even that close.! I changed sports from watching hockey playoffs to basketball balk because of Allen Iverson .
Very few guys competed like this guy, especially at his size. He never cheated the game.
This was so funny to watch 😂 AI was the honey badger of basketball 💯
Perfect analogy
AI will forever be in my top 2. His relentlessness was really unmatched. They'll never be another like him.
who is other one
AI is the best pound for pound, 1-to-1 basketball player to ever step on an NBA court, and I'll stand on Michael Jordan's coffee table and say it to his face. If he'd have ever had a truly solid team he'd have been dangerous, and if he was bigger you could've put him on a team with 4 Mugsy Bogues and he'd have still found a way to win.
And even more fucked is that he was probably as good if not better on a football field.
@@Littlehandler Kobe.
Just say top 1 he cross over the Goat like nothing.
@@Lodgeitudereal shit! 💯❤️ Same here. They both in my top 5. Won't be able to convince me otherwise fr
The only hero I ever really had ...
Being in the building when AI hit his highest scoring game was intoxicating....energy on 300....watching shot by shot drop was a different vibe...AI.. is a monster✔️🤔🏴☠️💪🏾 Philly Philly!!
Allen Iverson, warrior, respect 🙏❤️💪🤜.
Ai was the truth. He was relatable to all of us who weren't blessed with height.
AI THE ANSWER, what a player man, nothing was more exciting than to watch a small dude dominating the scoring over all the tall guys and he never let us down 👏👏👏
My #1 favorite player of all time. Easily.
5'10 without shoes and dominated the LEAGUE! ...And I've been going to Detroit Piston's games since '88.
He’s one of my all time favorites too….but I’d like to forget about his time here in Detroit.
@@RustyShackleford-nf1yz especially considering that Chauncey had a few all-star seasons after the trade. A few bad free agency signings and the team was completely unrecognizable from then on. Been a mess ever since.
Hopefully Cade can stay healthy this season and the Pistons finally make it back to the playoffs.
The pound for pound GOAT. Iverson was everything to a lot of us. His impact is still felt today. Even Ben Simmons wore a shooting sleeve.
“Even Ben Simmons wore a shooting sleeve” 😂😂😂😂
I'm french. Discovered NBA with Jordan and Magic, loved it with Iverson : my favorite player of all time.
When he came on, he changed the game with the attention to handles/crossover. Everybody on the playgrounds to the rec leagues were showing off a crossover. Kids didn’t care if they made the shot but got hyped off breaking someone’s ankles.
AI took iso play to a new level from Jordan with that move. Even if they brought back hand checking after that, not many would be able to keep players locked with the evolution of that move. AI along with the whole And 1 culture changed the game
Well said 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yeah, changed it for the _worse_ by turning it into a bunch of ghetto ball trash.
Facts! Plus the shoes. The Answer and the Question. Tats, braids, and the sleeve
Very accurate. Born in 1991, I was one of those kids.
Yeah for real. I’m from the hood hood and not bragging about it or praising it. But I made it out of there. Moral of story during those times he was our hero and gave us hope by looking like people around us and succeeding .! def top 5 idol in life🤝🏾🔥💯
I'll never forget seeing him cross over antonio daniels twice in like three seconds😂😂😂 I remember that live clear as day
I'm an old man. Seen alot of basketball. Born an raised in Chicago the 4 other players that made me worried against Jordan were Magic, Bird, Iverson, and Isiah Thomas.
AI had a huge impact on the 2000s generation. We all practiced that crossover and nobody could do it the same. Just cold blooded man. Them zip up Reebok tho
Dude, I’ve been following you for several years now and I just want to say you have an awesome show. You always have great content and you keep it concise yet loaded! Thx Tim
Once Iverson had a superstar with him in Denver to share the load with his efficiency went way up. If I were to put a dream team like yours together I would’ve had him in there somewhere.
Ai was a superstar but not the type that could go to a team the team had to be built around him. He was a killer but needed to take his 25 30 shots a night
Watching him battle giants, get broken and come back was a lesson to me 🦾
Not many people know that AI was also a heck of a quarterback. He played against Mike Vick in a state HS championship game (I think it was a state championship). But he used to ball out in football too. What an athlete!
Vick is way younger. They just from the same town . He did play against Aaron Brooks just not for a state tittle lol.
This brother was definitely must watch television.
Sean is the best. Great content. Great commentary. Love these old school videos!
Another GOAT AI congratulations to all of the greats 😊
AI is the 2pac of the NBA. Never the "best" but he made you feel him.
He was the best
Don't diss pac like that😢

The 1996 NBA Draft was the best draft in NBA history with 11 star players.
Moreover, it is really amazing that there are 5 players who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame after retiring.
Nah, 1984 had The 🐐, The dream, Stockton and Barkley 4 members of the Dream team.
@@c86alfonso That draft class was way too big, you cant select such a tiny relative handful of players out of such a huge draft class and try to claim that is the best one, over the 96 and 03 drafts which were much
228 draft pics 84 draft
58 draft pics in the 96 draft
58 draft pics in the 03 draft
To make things worse, in the 84 draft was in the crack era, anyone could have probably been drafted back then, you didnt need too many qualifications to play in the NBA back then, much like alot of occupations that emerged after the 80s, or advanced into the 90s.
Another thing, sorry to burst your bubble, but no matter how popular it is to ride with this regurgitated group think about Jordan being this so called universal goat, not all of us see him, or Lebron as the "best" players, or anyone else commonly named in these "top ___" however many players lists, so for me, Jordan being in that draft class isnt as heavy as you want yourself to believe it is to just say that sh1t as if it was written in the bible, and aside from him, I dont know what exactly about that draft am I supposed to be impressed by, one of the best centers ever, that is awesome out of 228 players, Stockton was special, thanks to playing alongside Malone for most of his career, and though I love Barkley, that is not enough to put any of those players over the highlight guys of the 96 draft or the 03 draft so much so, that I can overlook that there had to have been nearly 150 to 175 total duds in the 84 draft, while in the 96 and 03 draft, there were probably 10 duds at the most; no sir. The best draft class is between the 96 and 03 draft.
Absolute legend
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Allen Iverson, Isiah Thomas and John Stockton - best small guards of all time.
A.I. Was literally a different kind of freak. One of one in his own category damn near fr
Another dennis rodman..they come around every 50 yrs
If AI had 2 second tier stars on his team (like Paul Pierce or Chris Bosh type guys) during his prime, there is no question he would have multiple championships. By the time he got a decent team he was already old.
IVERSON will forever be my favorite basketball player
A.I was basically all of us at 5'11 and represented the majority of us fans and showed he was the goat at that height.
Basically 6'1
Iverson was my favorite to watch. Bad Man. Too fast for all!
AI literally made basketball the fifth element of hip-hop. Iconic.
Great stuff as usual Thanks Again
Iverson was always my favorite
Kobe then A.I. my Era
I saw some people say Harden over Iverson. Never in any galaxy! Iverson actually played on both ends and took his team farther.
The thing I remember about AI was his college career. I was like this dude has one gear, fast gear. He caught a defensive rebound and what seemed like 2 seconds later, he was doing a layup at the other end. In ISO he was terrifying. He was banged up a lot in his career because he played hard and gave ZERO f%^ks! when going to the lane and EVERYONE was bigger than he was. His grit was the reason he is a top 50 player of all time to me.
10*
Same thing I said about jameer nelson & Kevin Durant in college...guess I was wrong
Great video. Love the movie vibe mate. It’s classic! 💯
loved the ending!
I remember what Kobe said about AI "Be grateful for Iverson not being 6-5 like the person who AI wanted to physically emulate Latrell Sprewell.
I remember watching Iverson use the Shamgod crossover. Damn!
My 1 player is Jordan💥 My 2nd Favorite player A.i 🏀
He a real one🔥
The reason I picked up a basketball! Love you Jewelz
Allen Iverson and MJ da most unrate NBA player of all time really cool
Someone once said if Kobe or AI would have played any other era than MJs, they easily would compete for the goat. But I think for them to be remembered in the MJ era is even more spectacular.
Still playing in the 76ers #3 shirt today!
My favorite player of all time
Thanks for your page, I really enjoy it, I'd actually have AI as my starting point in my dream team.
Watching him with Coach John Thompson at Geoegetown I knew what he was gonna do in the NBA...Legend!
"Practice!?!!! I love the way he and his peers use the most memorable press conference from back in the day, and make it relevant today. Young adults who were babies when he retired talk about the crossover.
One of My favorite players
In Chinese calligraphy, he is known as the Red Sparrow. On the NBA tour with Yao Ming, thousands of Chinese fans were there to see Allen Iverson in person. And they were amazed like we were.
my fav player of all time
There’s a reason why he’s called the “ ANSWER “!
You know how world conquerors respect world conquerors? That’s what it was
Allen Iverson
Calvin Murphy was nicknamed the “little giant” but Iverson also comes to mind
My absolute favorite player
Everyone remembers where they were the night he crossed up Jordan.
Just like 9/11. It’s like the whole world stopped for a moment
Yes AI was,I'm 5"6-1/2 now .... when Ai came out an I discovered him as a player I,watched an study him played, I was playing varsity from the the 7th grade , top teir basketball, national basketball ,tournaments ,all city basketball 🏀 because of Ai ,that motivation, players was big an tall I was short an fast an can jump......6 championship 5 first runner up 2 mvp at that time I was standing at 5"4...,, big up to Ai for all the inspirations
An this real talks Ai motivated us gaurds under 6ft that we had something every one else didn't ,strong legs an speed,.so speedy short gaurds were born....
AI is Top 1.
Ive got a basketball shirt with his face printed on it and says, 'Best Point Guard Ever!'
Allen Iverson could break your ankles when he did the crossover with three pump face on you and than go to the rim
AI just didn't care he kept returning to the paint like Jason Voorhees
Bro, you and Funky make the best basketball video's
I was at his first college game against a great Arkansas team at the Memphis Pyramid. It was obvious he was going to be an all-time great even then.
We are so lucky to watch him in Turkey BJK club for a while. Thanks Allen.
Iverson was also great in football and recorded a nice album. Gotta love his talents.
Illest living legend baller to ever come out of 2 up 2 down(people from that state knows what this means).
And he was like maybe 5'10".
I was standing next to him in the pro am game.
Who dk that means VA??

So I guess everybody knows everything hu 😒
NEXT!
@Rio Facts I'm just saying. You made it like it was a secret. I think more ppl than you realize know what it means. Even if they didn't, a quick Google search tells you. And those of us that mess w/ "Bubba Chuck" hard enough know where he's from. VA, Football, Bowling Alley etc. That's scratching the surface👌🏾

Again(U)made it like everyone knows like when u didn't have to respond period.
A simple statement and here someone comes(U)
Everybody knows this 😒
Comment on bigger issues and stop thinking because u think something everyone else knows ✌️
@@riofacts8283 It's okay buddy 🤣
Such a fun player to watch.
When Ai put MJ on his ass....the league knew they had a problem on there hands💯
I remember seeing him jump out of bounds on the baseline catch the ball with his left hand, swap it to his right hand and drain the shot from almost behind the backboard. It wasn’t so much the play as how easy he made it look.
When I tried looking for video of this play, I couldn’t find it. Because he was making ridiculous plays like that regularly.
I THINK THAT HAPPENED IN A ALL STAR GAME!!!
@@THEREALLORDJ it might have been…also might be why I couldn’t find it.
Allen Iverson my all time favorite player pound for pound was a real dog up against all sizes 😂
I remember I always looked at the ball when he shot it. It's not spinning enough yet it still went straight right in. If you play basketball, you know shooting a ball without spinning it, it means you basically just have a very very hot hand. I bet he did.
Mom I’ll
That retro music is at the end is great
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Iverson and Marshawn Lynch are two of realist 🤙🏽
Even Shaq knew he was tough. Straight up savage with a driller's mentality. Step up to a driller and be dropped six.
Yassss
Nice jib on your video! AI was greatness.
Iverson baby Goat❤
Still my all time favorite player to watch
Big part of my childhood was watching AI battling out there with Kobe. Fond memories.
Jordan, Bird, Bryant and Iverson. My four favourite killers
he rapped about Antoine Walker on his album, if I recall
AI was your favorite player's idol. Simply GOAT.
Even the referree hates Iverson always got a travelling violation.
3:34 The Derek Fisher intervention. lol I will always laugh at that.
