Hey there! really digging the videos but ive got a question. So I was recently given a 1972 johnson skee horse 30 by a guy and it was missing the key. I tried a number of different keys I had lying around to see if I could get something to work. No keys would work but I used the end of a ziptie and a screwdriver to get it to turn. Im just curious if you know of any key ignition systems that would work with the factory wiring. thanks! and keep the videos coming
Hey bud. Thanks for the comment! Unfirtunatly 71 and 72 30 horse keys are pretty unique to those machines. You could probably wire in a universal type key (the sled will run without a key as long as the ignition is unplugged) but there is nothing that is a direct "plug and play". Do you have Facebook? There are a few groups out there, I am a part of. johnson/evinrude snowmobiles is a good one. Also you could call George at Northwestern Boat Co. He has a large stock of NOS parts. Hope that helps my friend! Thanks for watching!! More sled vids coming soon.
@@delmontindustriesltd7501 I do have Facebook! I’ll hop on there and join those groups. I’m new to the old sled game. I know the old outboards pretty darn good but this old sled kinda fell into my lap. It’s got a little crack in the hood but other then that it’s pretty nice
You gotta clean out an area to work in buddy. I need room to think. 😄 Keep at it. Nice work! 🤘
Lol! I know. It's better than what it was, haha. I don't think I'd know what to do in a place that's organized and clean. Thanks for watching!
Cool, i just got done with restoring the seat for my Ockelbo 300-1968
Nice!! Don't see too many of those machines here. It's a labor of love with these oldies.

@@samsvintageoutboards6847 awesome! I'm the admin in some. Just watch out for Dave's omc. If you choose him for business, pay in cash.
@@delmontindustriesltd7501 are you the admin or Johnson/evinrude snowmobiles?
@@samsvintageoutboards6847 no. But I am in that group. The one I'm admin of is johnson, evinrude and snow cruiser snowmobiles.
