You should have watched the video! That is half of the legend of this song. Huge hit for them and off their 2nd massive comeback album in a row, they were back in stadiums on this tour. For more greatness try Living on the Edge, same general era and as good a song. Enjoy! 🎸
Yes, late 80’s, you guys have to watch the video though, it’s hysterical, you won’t know what you just watched 😂😂😂
You absolutely should watch the official video for this song!
Love In An Elevator has special meaning for me, because where I used to work the elevator had a simple wall switch inside you could use to effectively stop the elevator anywhere you wanted, between floors. Most elevators have emergency stops which sounds an alarm, but ours had a silent stop switch so it could be held for loading/unloading, since it doubled as the main and freight elevator. My girlfriend and I used to meet in the elevator on break, move it between floors and stop it so we could make out. You've heard of the mile high club, well, we are a part of the "loving it up while I'm going down" club. While the elevator was stopped you could feel a slight tug when someone was trying to call it to a floor, so we could tell when someone wanted to use it. There was at least one time when we exited on separate floors to ward off any suspicion. We never got caught.
Yep.
BS
" Last Child " is a good one
And “Walking in the Sand” (back to back tracks,or close to, if I remember from one of my greatest hits of theirs-
Brad & Lex, for your 14th Aerosmith song, I'd recommend "Rag Doll"!
Rag doll is one of my favorites! Agreed on original videos
I agree. Watch the videos!
If I remember right, Liv Tyler made an on screen appearance in that video. Best Aerosmith song they haven't reacted to yet. EDIT: On second thought I think that was Alicia Silverstone. I think Liv was in Crazy.
ragdaw, commonappansimi
@@davidcollins897 Alicia was in “Cryin’”, “Amazing” and “Crazy”. Liv joined Alicia in the video “Crazy” and was also in their video “Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing“ by virtue of being in the movie Armageddon, for which that song was written.
In the mid-late 80s, Aerosmith crawled back from substance abuse problems and infighting to recapture their swagger and musical relevance. Their 2nd act was impressive. They also became more open to doing songs written by other songwriters, which freed them to focus on 'style' and performance. "Permanent Vacation" was a great album for any band or any era.
I think the outside writers are good and bad.
A hard rock band like Aerosmith doing songs by someone who writes for Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Michael Bolton and Celine Dione doesn’t sit well with me.
Liv Rundgren was the stepdaughter of rockstar Todd Rundgren, and she randomly attended some rock concert, and came home and told her mom: "Mom, I was at this rock concert, and the lead singer looked just like me." and the mom said "Uh, was it Aerosmith?" ... "Ummmm, yeeeeah...?" ... "Uhhhhh, we need to talk." LOL!🤣
I never heard that story. Is that really how she found out.
@@chrisa4695 Yep. True story.
Joe Perry the riffmeister. Talk about a guitar hero. He’s up there on the list
Joe Perry had a very unique guitar sound. One of the greats 👍🔥
One of my favorite Aerosmith songs from the comeback era along with Rag Doll and Dude Looks Like a Lady.
Aerosmith's career was about over having had a ton of hits. Then they did a remix of walk this way with RUN DMC !!! It's really what made rap mainstream and rejuvenated Aerosmith's career with them having some of their biggest hits of all time. So if you haven't done walk this way with DMC that's a must for cultural history.
NO! Rick Rubin got Run DMC to sample Walk This Way ... .. .
Early 90's guys.....early 90's. This record was.......................... Huge. ( Still is)
This was off their album Pump.
It's a classic. From 1989.
The cover seems to be a little truck doing a bigger truck if I remember correctly😂
Yes I saw them on this tour, really great show.🎸
Kings and Queens
🎺🥁🎸🧨💣You guys need to do “Seasons of wither” and “You see me crying” by Aerosmith! 🎺💣🥁🧨🎸
Listen to the tracks from "Toys In The Attic" That was my introduction to Aerosmith and been listening ever since.
Always loved toys in the attic! Remember listening to that album when I was maybe 10??, got to take my son to an Aerosmith concert when he was around 13 or so, company I worked for had a box which was nice, they opened with toys in the attic which made me so happy
Oh a ROCKING tune from Aerosmith's Pump album!! You two should react to more songs from that iconic album! Great reaction to this song Brad & Lex!
I've apparently have been riding in the wrong elevators.
😂
Aerosmith's 1989 album 'Pump' was a massive hit at the time... it didn't sound like any of the rock records out there at the time. It was pure Aerosmith, going to #5 on the US charts and sold 7 million copies (the biggest record of their career at the time) and scored MTV hits like 'Love in an elevator' ... "Janie's got a gun" ... 'What it takes'... 'The other side'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥
People knock Aerosmith for using outside songwriters, but sometimes that is what some bands need to deliver a quality record... They end up w/ a crappy record by themselves without any assistance.
My earliest memories of Aerosmith are Walk This Way with Run DMC, Love In An Elevator, Dude Looks Like a Lady........
The horns at the end are always a blast to focus on
Anything from Aerosmith Pump album rocks! 🎸
Best Aerosmith numbers to check out
Eat the rich
Livin on the edge
Fallin in love is so hard on the knees
That's so cute. You push the stop button lol
Great reaction as always, the entire Pump album is incredible.
"I really need a girl like an OPEN book to read BETWEEN THE LINES." 😉😆
Hell yeah, the thrill of getting caught!
You guys are getting good at recognizing when a song came out!
This was a great album from ‘89. Other great tracks from it- The Other Side, My Girl, What It Takes
they're definitely musically enlightened now!
Been begging for “What it takes” and Hole in my Soul” for the longest- LOVE the band and sooo many of their song from throughout the decades of their music- also love “Walking in the Sand.”
Wrong came out in 1987 summer when going second year Ferris State University bought it on cassette week came out during summer
Everybody it came out summer 1987 bought cassette week came out my second year Ferris State University
Love “what it takes” and “hole in my soul!” Just cannot get anyone to react to them-🤷🏻♀️ Both so deserve to be in “rotation.”
You need to watch their official video. They're much more fun.
I Love Each Member of Aerosmith. One of the Few Groups I Can Feel That Way About. ❤😊
Lex, you've developed a very keen ear when it comes to dating these songs. Nailing it almost every time now.
When I was young Aerosmith was honestly my favorite band of all time. I think their first 5 albums are as good as any bands 5 consecutive albums. Even though I probably saw them 3 or 4 more times after Draw The Line, I never really got into the music that much. JMO
Saw them in the spring of 90 in Dallas on the Pump tour. The Black Crowes opened for them. GREAT SHOW!
I have this theory that great rock front mean are influenced by Daltrey or Tyler. Chris Robinson is from the Tyler school.
Aerosmith is America’s Rolling Stones
Joey is "Choking A Chicken" in the elevator. Innuendo to the max! Idolized them since the early 70's. Great video. Gotta love Steven's performance every time on stage! Both Toxic Twins are the coolest.
Steven Tyler, the master of the double entendre lyrics, or maybe it is as overt as you think. And he is allowing for some "extra" time "Kinda hope we get stuck...", the one time you want a mechanical malfunction. The old MTV video shows the song mostly taking place in a Department Store, remember those?
As Steven Tyler tells it, this one was inspired by one of his pre-sobriety days when he found himself in a hotel hot tub with a bevy of women. When they moved the party to his room, they piled into the hotel elevator wearing nothing but towels and bathrobes. One of the ladies decided to have some fun and push all the buttons in the elevator, which brought it down to the lobby. When one of the girls opened her robe to show Tyler her goods, the elevator doors opened, giving the crowded lobby a look.
Quite possibly the only song in Rock and Roll to successfully incorporate the word "sassafrass".
Video makes song more better.
I have to re-suggest their "Ten Inch Record" :D
I remember when this album came out. The local rock station played the whole album. I still have it on cassette
This is my favorite reaction channel!! Yall are definitely the 🐐 !
"Love in an Elevator, Living it up when I'm going down."
It's been several decades, and I had no idea what he was saying until now!
😯 well you do now! Lol
@@kimberlinibambini1988 I honestly thought he was speaking Spanish...
Great song, with a really cool shuffle-like drum groove by Joey Kramer and great harmonies and transitions between the sections. When it was first released, I thought "Ah, more dirty guitars and killer grooves instead of another ballad". When I was staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Panama City, Panama a few years ago, I stepped on the elevator and in big letters right above the door, it said "Love In An Elevator".
One of their best.
That song hit the spot...nice. Rock on Brad & Lex
This came out in 1989. Steven Tyler too went a little sex crazy with lyrics for a few years as he tells it in the bands bio book “Walk This Way”. A great read btw
I recommend either What it Takes by Aerosmith or Living on the Edge
You should listen to Aerosmith - "What Kind Of Love Are You On". It came from the movie Armageddon. Thay always have some crazy lyrics, like their other song "Big ten inch".
I remember french guessing some dude in an elevator in Lake Tahoe back in the day 🤣😎💯
Thank you for sharing this with me
You take all the love you can and keep on riding.
"The love you take is equal to the love you make ".
Now Brad & Lex this is example of a song in which you should watch the actual video.
This was Aerosmith's first song release for their comeback since they hadn't released a new song in like 8 or 9 years. It worked out great because they already had momentum thanks to Run DMC covering Walk This Way and introducing Aerosmith to a new generation and new demographic.
They had just released Permanent Vacation two years before this with a bunch of hit singles like Dude looks like a lady, Ragdoll, and Angel.
@@michaelduran8627 You are right. I was thinking of Dude. Man my memory sucks anymore. LOL
Love this reaction. I do have a request for a reaction for y'all. I know you have reacted to the band Depeche Mode before, however, one of the band mates recently died. I was wondering and hoping for another reaction... paying tribute to Andy "Fletch" Fletcher. An oldie, but a goodie... "Blasphemous Rumors" (this song was banned in many countries following it's release). "Stripped", "Black Celebration", or "Fly on the Windscreen". Please and thank you, it would mean a lot to me as well to all other DM and Fletch fans. ✌
Top 10, or even 5 favorite bands of mine- This was late 80’s (89, if I recall) my senior year- I’ve requested, and see others as well ,(live streams and comments) asking for your reactions to “What it takes.” He’s hitting those high notes- Also “Hole in my Soul.” Both definitely deserve exposure. Y’all could surely be the ones to do it- know what I mean??😉🤞🏼
This is the first time I've seen others asking for 'What It Takes.' As well as Steven's unearthly higher range, it has a gorgeous Leslie(rotating organ speaker) guitar solo, a favourite sound of mine.
@@damonhines8187 yes! Someone else that gets it- Those songs never get enough votes on the live stream polls when requested and just aren’t reacted to- Have you heard “Hole in my Soul as well?” If not, plz take a listen and get back to me on what you think- “Walking in the sand” as well. We need to get these greats out there!
@@kimberlinibambini1988 will do, thanks for the tips!👍 😀
@@damonhines8187 oh and btw- when you listen to “Hole in my Soul” (I just got done listening yet again lol) plz also watch the official video with it- great mini movie- you’ll see reference to a very iconic movie-it’s the way they put this video together, and **of course** the song itself- I’ve listened to it over and over. Along with “what it takes” soooo many times- Among so much of their music- Just love this band-anxious to hear your opinion on song and video- 😄 oh, and “Walking in the sand.”😬
Aerosmith real picture of rock and roll Steven Tyler is Mr. Rock and roll
*If you want to react to more Aerosmith songs, try these: Round and Round__No More, No More__Last Child__You See Me Crying.*
Great song - in fact the whole ‘Pump’ album is fab 👍
My favourite part of this song is the dual guitar solos.
Maestro Fresh Wes - Let Your Backbone Slide
Some lifts have two doors, you can open the inner safety door to stop the lift. Then its PARTY TIME ?
Yep. It is what it says. Getting busy in the elevator 😂😛
Sedona sunrise is one of my favourites and it’s a hidden gem you should try it
Given how much Lex reacted to "going down" I'd liked to have seen Lex's face if a version had been found with the Catherine Epps into that went "2nd floor. Hardware, children's wear, lady's lingerie/Oh, good morning Mr. Tyler, going....down?/[Stephen Tyler] Heh heh heh Oooo....."
It’s from the pump album released in 1989
It’s a fun song. Stephen Tyler had a knack for a clever turn of phrase. Video is dope too.
Check out Aerosmith - Nobody's Fault and then you can do Testament's cover of Nobody's Fault.
You might know this one but Jaded is a great Aerosmith song.
Steven Tyler tells a real life story where he and Joe Perry did have this experience with 2 girls. It’s hilarious when the door opens and people are flipping out seeing pants at ankles. Listen next to Seasons of Wither of of the “ Get your Wings “ CD and tell me what it’s about. If you can’t I will help, it’s a great, great song.
Try Deuces Are Wild by Aerosmith...I guarantee you Lex will LOVE it! It kinda reminds me of her!
You should have watched the full video for this one. 'Going down, Mr. Tyler?'
Steven Tyler said it was based on a personal experience.😂
Big 10 inch or something from their blues album " Honkin on bobo "
This was a huge one in its time.
You stop the elevator between floors to get a little more time, either way, a quickie of some kind for sure.
From 1989 good song My Favorite Aerosmith you know where the early years but then hey I'm 60 I like others but I like the early stuff. Sadly I hear Steven Tyler's back in rehab
You just pull the emergency stop button but don't set the alarm off
Great guitar riff!
React to "Shut up and Dance" by Aerosmith. It rocks!!
Your just getting started. No matter how many songs you hit. 1000's + more.
Just remember kiddies... these days there are cameras EVERYWHERE!
OMG, you'd love the official music video too!
Should've watched the vid!
I Suggest Watching the Video of this Song. It's Fun and Cool. Lots of Details too.
this song was played everywhere but an elevator
Yes, Steven Tyler is WILD! 😁
Phill Collins “In the air tonight” live HD
Firehouse--Reach for the sky
Your next Aerosmith song should be either "Cheese Cake" or "Chiquita".
You should see the video to this song
video is awesome
Ha! “Seems corny, though.” Absolutely.
I’m not going through all the comments but I hope surely someone told you guys to check out the song “Rag Doll” from the same album
Angel
Remember this is radio friendly, sassafras becomes sexy ass when sung live.
Best X-rated/not X-rated Aerosmith song, best ever dirty mind song, is 'Pink'.
Pink is a great song
The actual video is worth watching
What a great song! Steven at his best, not to mention the whole band!
