The accuracy on those secondaries though... "Captain, we're hitting the sea 4km behind the target" "Right on target!!"
yeah it really needs napoli secondary dispersion to make the secondaries worth it considering the main guns are meh, if shiptool is correct it has worse alpha and pen than graf spee
This ship has the same secondary dispersion as the mainline German BBs but it doesn't get manual secondaries
The weirdest thing for me here is less the secondary focus and more the absence of torpedoes....
With the Germans adding torps even to their BBs, seeing a Cruiser without them is quite unusual.
EDIT: Also, what the heck is up with the Germans only getting depth charges, even on something as big as this thing?! We know they can do it, they gave the Graf Spee a plane and that thing's ancient and lower Tiered.
No airstrikes, so your "ubermensch" ship can be humiliated by sub-humans. lol
Siegfried and Agir get airstrikes as well. Depends on the ship but this not having airstrikes is a massive liability.
it has Hydro and Speed Boost. So, with Hydro you are safe from torps and with the speed boost, one can easily sail above the submarine and depth charge him to death.

I generally fail to understand what the point of this ship is at all. Its a worse ägir in my opinion. Worse guns (double vs tripple turrets), no torps. Yes it has better concealment and, ruddershift etc. But it seems a bit useless

@@GranitWall These are the same people that Added Submarines and FUCKED UP aircraft carriers. They could do it. It would add more clutter to the MM as well.
In my opinion, it needs Schlieffen secondary accuracy instead of Kurfurst secondary accuracy (to make up for the lack of cruiser secondary skills), the addition of Defensive Anti-Air Fire (because it pushes in quite a lot) and Airstrikes instead of Depth Charges (because it gets completely denied by submarines) to be worth it. These are all minor things that would go a long way together.

To conclude this review: Superships are killing everything that's fun or could be fun in this game.
I think Subs and Cv are a bigger issue... superships are just t11 I wish they made money...

Literally gonna milk poor wehraboos for money, just for a limited honeymoon before they kill off the ship's only redeeming features. Its kinda becoming like a virtual car industry tbh - just like german cars irl being awesome, until programmed obsolescence electronics burn out, and leave you with a garden ornament on wheels.
My money is that it will be nerfed before it even hits the dock yard, and all these brain-dead monkeys will buy it anyway.

@@RevyPls Pretty sure its an endgame thing - meaning you either need high tier ships to do the missions, or you pay for it like western kings payed the Roman church indulgence. lol

Last time we got secondary cruier like Siegfried and Agir...we can see how they turned out after the captain changes

German ships just cannot be fun to play by Wee Gee's rules
Not to mention this is a god damn heavy cruiser and it has ship depth charges and not plane depth charges
Seriously. Even Hindenburg has those god-awful ship based depth charges. The way subs are implemented, ship based ASW is all but useless unless you're in a DD, and even then it's the worst kind of ASW in the game. How anyone thought putting them on heavy cruisers was a good idea is beyond me.
I don't think they ever said that Siegfried and Agir are secondary cruisers when they have really small number of them, Agir even before captain changes had only 5.3 secondary range.
Siegfried was closer to it with 7.6, but her/his main point is the 380mm battleship guns with cruiser accuracy, not the secondaries, but you could built on it before the changes.
With the cruiser captain skills, secondary cruisers are not really good, specially with the tier9 matchmaking. WG really screwed up the tier9 ships with the superships...
Just play the German BC line...
Fought one of these in my Missouri. We were alone on the backside of an island. He parked in front of me 2km off my starboard bow, nose in. I bounced every salvo off his nose. Then switched to aiming at his guns and permanently knocked out both forward main guns. He then proceeded to kill me with secondaries alone. Didn’t try to run. Didn’t try to ram. Sat there calm as could be and beat an equal tier BB with secondaries alone while I bounced off him.

You forget the sinops shells are guided by the mighty hand of stalin they could fire in the opposite direction from you and the stalinium heat seekers will still hit you😂

I had the same issue yesterday, was pretty sure no guns were pointing at me and got completely shredded by a full broadside.

Last secondary ship from Dockyard is Atlantico, not Odin if I recall!
Edit for comment: But yeah, when I was in testing, I requested that they buff the secondary accuracy a little more. Sad that it's gutted before the release.

I just got this boat and play it like a Nurnberg at the start and a DD and cruiser hunter as the game goes on. First view games have yielded quite a few nice citadels on enemy cruisers that give me their broadsides.
Was really hoping for a mini schlieffen, both in terms of looks but in playstyle… at least it got the looks.
Still will get it, even if the secondaries suck, a fast and stealthy gun focused battlecruiser could be fun, a playstyle I already enjoy like with st. Vincent and even marseille to an extent, just a german flavor now.

I hoped for it to be a Napoli like, efficient secondary cruiser but with hydro. Sad to see that it is not that kind of ship. Beautiful non the less.
Was it just me, or were the rear guns more consistent in their accuracy than the front guns each time he fired? I felt like it looked like they were firing straight often while the front guns shotgunned a bit each time.

I lost patience with it due to the ease with which it seemed to eat citadels... it ain't no German BB thats for sure

Seems like it’s an ambush hunter. Harasses from a distance, then focus down and finishes off anything weak or caught alone with the secondaries to pound them into the bottom. Charge in and Deek them out to their off side then continue the swing to kite their rudder and turret. The speed boost to pull it off, they might only get secondary shots off at you in return. Like a Winter Wolf taking down an Auroch or Irish Elk.
I got my Schroeder and went into a match last night...and OMG!!! The secondaries just absolutely WRECKED the first DD that came at me. Like, I got one shot off from my mains and the secondaries did all the heavy lifting. lol

Most of the time I feel like most of my teams are on sedatives and the other 2 or 3 need to be. Being skeered of pixels is sully. Nice to see you get the same teams as well.(game 1)

in retrospect, after having this ship for awhile, DAM i'm glad i got it! its an absolute joy to pilot. the Agir twins cant hold a flame to her. she is stealthy, fast, turn great, gun main gun angles, 10km secondaries and ALOT of them. ok so the agir and seig, have some lousy 6km torps. big deal. when it was 1 vs 1 tier 9 cruiser brawls, i went 34 wins, 3 losses against the agir twins.

I run my Roon as secondaries, double rudder mod is needed on that one though.
The only problem with this ship vs others 2ndaries cruiser is no torps. Yeah the 3 has advantages on their own like napoli with smoke, siegfried with 380mm and this with speed boost however with torps you can make enemy little bit scared to against your 2ndaries

I'd be curious to get your opinion about the French Heavy cruisier Carnot.
It's a wish variant of an Alaska or an Agir, but when playing well with her 10 330mm gun, she can be realatively impacting in game. Not saying the 3.8s base secondary reload for brawlers.

In summary, no torpedoes, secondaries that seldom hit, unimpressive main guns and no airborne asw (depth charges instead)... only good things are concealment and that the back of the ship is low to the water... nope not enough good with the ship to warrant a nerf... frankly the secondaries need an accuracy buff to make this worth playing... btw keep in mind that this ship just like the Agir and Siegfried can fairly easily be citadelled through both front and back so the low concealment is essential for survivability.
A German Alaska where you sacrifice Radar for a very good Speed Boost.
Might be tempting.
you also sacrifice guns.
Alaska has both better HE (25% more DPM and fires per minute) and WAY better AP (way better pen and improved pen angles)
@@arczer2519 Don't forget the Germans get 1/4th he pen on everything! The damage is crap to compensate, but at least you can pen even with tiny guns.

i am pretty sure you can still pick the ship you want them to shoot at, just no manual secondary buff

Happy Holidays PQ! I got this ship today, I took it out for 1 match and got T9 mm - I got 3 kills and 185 secondary hits and activated my Lutchens - I took down so many ships it was the most fun i have had in 2 years - this ship is great at DD support - which I am a DD main - wow I was blown away - really glad i got this one - its what i thought the Siegfried would have been - this is amazing the guns are dead on i destroyed a DD when i pushed into the cap I have never seen so many shots off my ship and I have all the best secondary ships - the speed boost makes it easy to reposition - this ship will be nerfed i can tell OR it will be removed like all the good ones - I think this is gonna be a great Holiday Season Thanks PQ great videos your DEAD on - on this ship - Cheers mate!

Half me went hell yeah I'll suffer the miserable grind to get that. Then the sheer prevalence of super ships and it being tier 9 and the lack of manual secondaries just nuke that from orbit
Never got the Admiral Schröder, because I knew this gonna suck monkeyballs in higher Tiers. I played a few times against it and no matter what, it was so easy to take on. Especially with the lack of manual secondaries and the low accuracy of the secondaries, it's not even worth to consider it as a good brawling ship in a meta, where brawling is mostly suicide.
This ship might be a good DD hunter destroyer...
If the secs main issue is accuracy....well......i do full sec spec Flandre/Champagne so atleast i get more pens (and bounce more shells) with this bote :D

In last game for depth charges to work you need to use them, I guess with so many ships in close vicinity you forgot u have a sub just next to u. , that depth charges would had killed it, they are strong, I know, I am from the future.
I would love to see a gernan ship with only secondaries. Like 4x2 200mm 8x2 150mm, 16x2 127mm and 32 x2 105mm! Low visibility like 8km and 12.6km range on the guns! That would be fun to try!
It if just had better dispersion of the secondaries this ship would be a dream, just give it Georgia secondary levels and not even Napoli levels and it would perform so much better...

A secondary cruiser in random battles is a dead end in the game I find. Ranges are too great, the ships too weak (armor/hp wise), and in general the meta is hiding/range for protection at high tier especially with super ships around. There are many other gimmicks that make more sense for a cruiser that are already in the game or would help them. Even with the Napoli, which is the best secondary cruiser, I rarely get to use them outside of some unique situations and unusually only for a few minutes before I am dead or the game is over.
Maybe these ships would be more useful if we could use tier 9/10 in Operations that would be be useful with how quickly those turn into brawls. Or they gave them some sort of special perk/captain that allowed them to be more like secondary battleships for accuracy.
So she trades the German torpedo with a lot of drunk secondaries. On top of that, she gets depth charges instead of asw airstrike. That is tragic

If you would have had back to back Double Strikes and a five game win streak like I did the first day I got it…I’m sure your review would have been a lot more favorable of this ship.

Yes. This is WG's new M.O.. Nerf a ship directly or indirectly then monetize the 'fix' in the form of a new ship or gamble-box event.
You know maybe for a captain rework 2.5 or 3.0, they could go into individual ship classes and say things like "this cruiser has no torpedoes, therefore we give you the option to increase it's secondaries or anti-air instead of torpedo related skills".
Why play this if I can play P. Rupprecht for free? And it does have secondaries that with captain skills can hit target, has torps, better guns, more health. Speed, size, turning radius, rudder shift almost same. Only advantage of Schroder is detectability, more range hydro and speed boost.

brawlers are pretty well useless until the end of the match unless you have over 10km secondary guns.
While the ship looks enticing, the lack in accuracy on the secondaries and alpha, along with the fact that she will face superships, Imma avoid it like the plague. I already have Napoli anyways.
