  • Our mechanics detail the steps in cleaning an electric bike.
Electric bikes are a bit more difficult to clean compared to a normal bike as there are many electrical cords and wirings you are going to want to ensure don't get wet.

Simple and to the point. But how safe is it to saturate the motor with degreaser?

You definitely don't want to overdue it, but applying some degreaser certainly won't damage it.

Can you comment here on what degreaser and dry lube you use?

We like the Finish Line Speed degreaser and the Rock&Roll Red dry lube. Hope this helps!

    What's the I.P rating of the Beachbum2 ?

Our electric bikes, along with almost every ebike in the world, are not water-resistant. Our Beach Bum 2 does not yet have an I.P distinguished rating. No matter what a bike's I.P rating is, it's best for any electric bike to avoid getting wet as much as possible. Riding in the rain and through water will damage almost any electrical current no matter it's I.P rating. That doesn't mean you can't clean the Beach Bum with water though! There are just necessary steps you need to take to ensure you avoid damaging the bike during washing.
