Not only do we have the justice system failing to protect the American people but we also have the legislature unwilling to discipline its members. From Marjorie Taylor Greene poster board pornography violating private citizens and professional ethics during a congressional hearing to Nancy Pelosi being unwilling to discipline the squad back in the day for whatever they were pulling at the beginning of their terms. The bribery abounds and if they refuse to legislate to hold themselves accountable then they should have to wear jackets showing patches of all the corporations and bribes that they are taking that stop them from protecting the will of individual voters. Shame on all of them

Truly, I'm shocked at the Colorado judge who found that Trump incited the insurrection against the government, but then concluded that presidents cannot be disqualified by 14A section 3. How can that possibly be so? How?
If the section doesn't apply to a presidential candidate, because that's all Trump is at this point, then who would it possibly apply to? Nutty, this Colorado Judge is nutty...and weak kneed.

    • @jamesyoungblood6231

Well, 14C3 doesn't include to POTUS under it's grasp. It simply doesn't state the POTUS is included. Consequently, the judge was unwilling to disqualify him. The case will likely be affirmed on appeal. 14C3 was litigated aggressively in the trial, they were unable to show that 14C3 specifically says the POTUS is included in it's list of positions.

Many state laws conflict with federal laws!!!
EX: Marijuana laws. Now Dobbs vs Roe is at issue.
For the record, typically to make it illegal for any felon who has served their time to still not be able to vote is exactly what red-ruled states do.
That's because typically the black & brown-skinned felons tend to vote for Democrats! And NOW, that same political tribe, Rethuglicons--bent on keeping or stealing power happens to have a cult leader that is running for president & they don't want anyone stopping that!
If ANY Democratic candidate was indicted, like Dump-not even convicted, know that EVERY Rethuglicon would be raising hell!!
Rethuglicons don't want every American to vote. They've believed the fewer ppl vote, the better off they are. And they are right. This has been their mantra since 1977.
It's Rethuglicons that passed over 500 voter suppression bills in the past few years.
It's Rethuglicons that have gerrymandered their states so they don't have to change any of their policies for their voters, & keep power over any Democrat that may run.
That's also why they love electoral college so that their loser candidate has a greater chance to take power over the more popular candidate.
Rethuglicons hate rule by majority. Their state laws favor them to stay in power.

The biggest problem with your comment is that Trump has NOT been ruled an insurrectionist by a Federal Court (due process). The DOJ ruled there was no proof/evidence to accuse/try/convict Trump of insurrection. So from the Federal level (and the LESSER State level) Trump is NOT an insurrectionist. Insurrection is a Federal level crime and cannot be ruled on by State Courts. The Judges "mention" that Trump was an insurrectionist is from his own bias, and the statement has no legal standing. Trump is not an insurrectionist unless (or until) a FEDERAL Court convicts him of insurrection (again, that is Due Process). The bottom line is that UNTIL Trump is convicted in Federal Court of insurrection, Trump is NOT an insurrectionist...and the 14th Amendment is irrelevant. This has been tried many times before in US election history, and always fails because States cannot find citizens guilty of Federal Crimes. As per SCOTUS:
Ableman v. Booth, 62 U.S. 506 (1859) State courts cannot issue rulings that contradict the decisions of federal courts.

Katie thanks for bringing Laurence Tribe... These are some of the things I've been saying for some time...
Tick tock tick tock....(we probably shouldn't hit snooze...or we all will lose)
Here is what I've been saying for months, and even about someone like Trump coming to power as far back as 2011 as it related to a Lecture Series I did on Deitrich Bonhoeffer... So these have been my comments most recently, capturing some of my long-ago comments as well...
Once indictment and successful prosecution take place, I have to hope that we will be better than Germany was during Hitler's time. I pray there are more conservatives who have read and are aware of the history, who ultimately understand if they allow Trump back in office we will be the 4th Reich, and who will come to our rescue?!... This is what I've said over and over again...about what is next, and how important this moment is in our nation.
We need more conservatives like Liz. I know she and I would disagree on a number of issues, but on this issue and in a general way such a conservative is who we need in charge of the grand old party...
Thanks for your report... we need good strong honest conservatives back speaking to the public... Democrats need Republicans, Republicans need Democrats, and both need a few honest independents to keep this democracy thing afloat...
now a bit of history...ethics...and philosophy...a bit of theology...and etymology (with a bit of humor for good measure)
For those many in the GOP who still are on the Trump bandwagon, the end does not justify the means...
(the best for democracy is the ends and the means) the more familiar "end justifies the means" is simplistic and short-sighted. MAGA Trumpians apparently think the likes of Steve Bannon who are anarchists will bring them back into power and security. Well, Neitzche's sister thought the same thing and edited his materials well used by Hitler... We need to read CS Lewis Dymer, and just remember the history, to see how that worked out for them. Here is my take on another earlier comment...on another current revelation re. some of this. a little bit of philosophy -- nominalism... Again ask Hitler how that worked out for him, ask Alex Jones what he thinks of Nietzsche, and again has anyone read CS Lewis's narrative poem Dymer... Kafka the Trial or in German Der Prozeß or Metamorphasis. This is where we are going, if not already there, not a good place and even those who think they want this kind of new power, it's not so new, and in the end, it's not all that it's cracked up to be... Here is my take on all this trumpery (see definition at the end)
those who blindly follow I would say deserve what they get...where did the conservatives with a backbone go... there are very few who still have anything like a real conservative agenda, just follow the leader, or as Bonhoeffer suggested of Hitler, the "Misleader." I'm glad for today's revelations, ... And I do pray he will come to trial. I do hope he will be prosecuted to the full extent for the crimes committed, but ... and this is a big but, I still stand by what I've said earlier again and again...Even if Trump is put in Jail and serves time, economic and other issues as in Germany at the time of Hitler (runaway inflation, the inability of either side to govern, etc., and so so much more in parallel at present [it only took ten years there])... REMEMBER THIS:
Hitler was thrown in Jail after his failed Beer Hall Putsch, then in Jail wrote "Mein Kampf," followed by being "democratically" elected. The rest is history, we've been there and done that. The following quote from Metaxas:
"On January 30, 1933, at noon, Adolf Hitler became the democratically elected chancellor of Germany. The land of Goethe, Schiller, and Bach would now be led by someone who consorted with crazies and criminals, who was often seen carrying a dog whip in public. The Third Reich had begun."
Metaxas, Eric. Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy (p. 138). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition.
For the following, I can only say boy has conservatism changed since the early days.
It was George Santayana who, in his Reason in Common Sense, The Life of Reason, Vol. 1, wrote "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Santayana's quotation was a slight modification of an Edmund Burke (1729-1797) statement, "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it." Burke was a British Statesman and Philosopher who is generally viewed as the philosophical founder of modern political conservatism.
Another reminder from the "Book of Confession" (Presbyterian Church [USA]) introduction to "The Theological Declaration of Barmen", these words:
"In January 1933, after frustrating years in which no government in Germany was able to solve problems of economic depression and mass unemployment, Adolph Hitler was named chancellor. By playing on people's fear of communism and Bolshevism, he was able to persuade the Parliament to allow him to rule by edict. As he consolidated his power, Hitler abolished all political rights and democratic processes: police could detain persons in prison without a trial, search private dwellings without a warrant, seize property, censor publications, tap telephones, and forbid meetings. He soon outlawed all political parties except his own, smashed labor unions, purged universities, replaced a judicial system with his own "People's Courts," initiated a systematic terrorizing of Jews, and obtained the support of church leaders allied with or sympathetic to the German Christians."
    trump·er·y | ˈtrəmp(ə)rē | archaic

He passes out a token treat to National Guard today, had to wonder if he's thinking 'losers' or next time he wants a soup kitchen if elected in. The cruel hypocrisy and jokes will be saved for his way to Club member owned Mar A Loco.🤬

Actually, my part of the world is pretty fearful of the consequences if Trump gets back in! And for all the peculiarities of the USofA, the Judicial reference to The Constitution is impressive - as it should be in Constitutional Republic! It's scary to note Trump's campaign references to so many dictators he has 'great respect' for - almost as if he is planning how to apply the same tactics if h wins (or even if he doesn't!) next November!

    • @EddieMulchy

There's that pesky "Specifically Enumerated" clause in the Constitution getting in the way again.
The Constitution specifically enumerates three (and ONLY three) qualifications to run/serve as President. As a previous President, there is no possible legal argument that Trump doesn't meet those 3 requirements. Insurrection is a FEDERAL crime. Without being accused/tried/CONVICTED of insurrection by a FEDERAL Court, Trump is NOT an insurrectionist and the 14th Amendment is irrelevant. STATES cannot convict you of insurrection and the Supreme Court agrees:
Ableman v. Booth, 62 U.S. 506 (1859) State courts cannot issue rulings that contradict the decisions of federal courts.

I suppose if he wants to waste time and money running for an office he CAN'T HAVE, that's up to him. And if people are stupid enough to vote for him, it just shows how many stupid people we have here.
