Hozier is one of my absolute favourite poets and singers of this generation. The way he creates and weaves stories in such an artistic way whilst managing to convey exactly what he’s trying to say is just 👌 that and he’s Irish too soooooo
Anyway hope you are all good and well! I’m currently in a indecisive writing hole trying to decide whether or not to write a creepy Halloween song for the release of the FNAF movie coming out soon. So lemme know if you would want to hear that! Very much 50/50 on whether I wanna release what I’ve written 🙈 I’ve only been writing songs for the last year and generally they’re inspired but something that already existed, this would be entirely original so it’s SCERRY

THIS is a heavy song! a beautifully sad song but GOD DAMN DOES IT FEEL LIKE A GUT PUNCH!!!
This song has always been so odd for me cause I used to listen to it alot and made this whole story line for it where there was this guy, he met a girl and they started dating and they start talking about religion and find out she's not religious but he's been part of the church for years and as they go on dating, he ends up finding holes he can't deny in his belief and starts to question his belief when someone of his church tells him to leave her (for some churchy reason) and begins to develop anger towards the church when he remembers a moment from his past where he heard the pastor say that praying doesn't actually help any of the people, they were all born sick and are destined for hell, and realizes how terrible his church is and the terrible things they've done all in the name of their goddess.
Then someone told me "oh its a song about a guy being gay" and I said "pfft ok" then they showed me the video for the first time when I was a kid and was like "......I HAD A WHOLE STORY."
mad at the person who couldn't just let me have my made up story line xD (This is how it's been for alot of songs)
You should absolutely turn it into a story
I honestly thought it was a star-crossed romance in a extremely cultish society where all was given to worship, even one's own life. While the king/pope lives a life of luxury and gluttony, he tells them they are sick for having want, while she, the lover, saw another world as a child and shares the truth with the singer.
The song isn't about being gay; that's what the video is about. The song is about questioning church, religion, and beliefs. Write your story. Just because this has become, rightfully, a queer anthem because so many of us queers have bad relationships with religious beliefs we were raised with doesn't mean it's only for queers. Your story fits the song lyrics.

Just the anthem of how I feel being a genderqueer pansexual born into a deeply religious family. I'm currently in a lesbian relationship and I love her and am thinking about marrying her but I hurts me so much to know that my decision whether to marry a men or not will alter the way of whether my family will love me or disown me... I will be pushed from the most loved grandchild to the most disgraced grandchild by just being with the person I love... And I know that that's not what religion was supposed to be, that's not how the bible was to be read... I would describe myself as an agnostic nihilist but I know that the way religion is used to hurt ppl or make them feel bad or unworthy is not right and that everything is so wrong! My girlfriends family are also very religious, her grandfather and brother being pastors, but they don't see us being gay as something bad but good. Love is kind and love is good and love doesn't hurt. And saying that "God/Jesus/Holy Spirit hates Gays" is just utter bullshit... If "God loves all their children" is a motto, they love ALL their children no matter what. And it just hurts me...
I'm sorry for your position. For me it's much less of a problem because I'm just aroace, but they don't believe me and don't take it seriously and I don't think they ever will

First of all this is amazing!! Your voice and the audio is perfect! The art, the animations and the lyrics being shown too are all great.
But I have a couple suggestions for the visuals that could maybe make it even better. (you obviously don't have to read the next part or do it cause frankly they are just suggestions and I don't know if they are possible/doable)
1. Having the backup vocals appear on the screen too, thiis is cause sometimes in any/all songs back up vocals can be unclear. They could either just be on the top of the screen or be free floating/in random areas.
2. It would be cool if the art/animations changed slightly over the course of the songs (I know that would be a lot more work but I just thought it would be cool)
examples:
For this video maybe the wings could have started as white and slowly turned to black? You could also change the animations slightly so that the "wind" is calm at the start but gets stronger moving the picture more later in the song. (also this is a completely stupid ocd nitpick but I think the wings should have moved way slower that the hair since it would be heavier)
In the "Vampire" video the blood could slowly add up. Like the song starts with only the mouth and nail blood but as the song gets more intense more blood appears until the final blood in the foreground appears like a splash.
IT IS SOO GOOD BUT I WISH YOU WOULD SING IT LOUDER AND BOLDER, YOUR CHORUS VOICE SOUNDED SO GOOD DAMN
