You really can't beat the sound of the 1000cc engines Polaris uses. Even there 500/570 engines sound good. But that slingshot sounds like a 95 honda that got raped by a 17y.o. with a Ebay account. Definitely a cringe worthy start up.

This is not a midlife crisis. this is a 3/4s early 70s life crisis. There are a ton of these here in Lake Havasu city, Arizona and I don't think I've seen anyone under 70 driving them.

You need to wear helmet however I have not seen one Polaris owner or drivers wearing a helmet, ever!

I kid you not, I saw someone post that on facebook. Except he said he "upgraded" from the Porsche to the Slingshot and I quickly pooped on that notion.
Reminds me of my 1979 RX-7. The visceral feel of my car is incredible and I have learned a new word for the feeling!
That is not the correct way to open the hood! That method will actually damage the hood. 1. You do push down the tab that you showed to unlatch the hood.(that was correct ) 2. Then use both hands to grab the hood in the same opening as the tab you pushed down to unlatch the hood, now while gripping the hood between your thumbs and fingers, grip the hood tightly and then pull straight back toward your body and the hood will move toward you while opening up.
they’re actually very fun! my family drives them in the mountains in SC. Tons of stares and people tend to pull over to let you pass them.
I never seen anybody driving these with a helmet.

datboiwes333 depends on what state you live in. I’ve owned mine for three years. Used to have to wear a helmet in NV. California you still have to. Each state is different in how they classify the Slingshot.

There are a bunch of these in Lake Havasu city, Arizona where I live. I have literally never seen anyone using a helmet, but there are no helmet laws here. Plus every single person driving these are at least 68 to 78.

The driving experience Sofyan is describing is reminiscent of my old MG days. The MG did not have any power but the driver's connection to the car and road was wonderful. No way I was going to get a speeding ticket or launch myself off a canyon road at the incredibly slow speeds the MG produced. BUT, the car felt like you were going 100 miles per hour (@45) and you were so satisfied when your Sunday morning drive was over. Some great vehicle just produce tons of fun at relatively humane speeds...

I have that 2.4l Ecotec in my Saturn Sky with a TD04 turbocharger. Boost is up to 15 psi on the stock motor and about 400 lb-ft of torque and allot of fun.

This review is hilarious. I own this exact model, have put 1000 miles in the last month. It’s a blast. I have sports bikes, Harley and love my slingshot. It’s not a replacement motorcycle. It’s what it is. I’m 30 so no midlife crisis. It’s a blast to drive. Also the way he opened the hood was completely wrong. Just pull up and out from the front. Don’t knock it until you try it. Also you don’t need a helmet. I never wear one until unless I’m going to the mountains.

I’ve seen many of these things over the years and it’s always driven by an old man. They also drive them at the pace of a snail. I’ve never seen one of these being driven like a toy.

The hood was hard to open because you did it wrong. After unlatching turn your hand over grasp and pull the hood up from the front.

Stock exhaust exits straight down on passenger side. Hated that on dirt roads! Love my full catback exhaust on mine! Exits to the rear now.

Is the seat fixed or can it slide forward and back? Can someone 6 ft or taller sit (somewhat) comfortably in it? Looks kind of tight in there considering you're only 5 '7

I just first started seeing these type of vehicles on the road this year and always wondered how fast they really go. At a first glance you would think they have a lot of horses under the hood but to hear this thing only has 173 horse power really surprised me. But man i would not want to have to drive this thing in the winter time, you would have to really dress in layers

The slingshot has been out for a while, so I'm surprised at all the people seeing this vehicle for the first time. 🤔
Sofyan is the first person I've seen drive one of these who didn't have grey hair.
Its because they are $30K. If you are buying a house and have kids then you cant afford it. If it was half that price then no one with grey hair would have one!! Its more of a toy and not a daily driver. Young people have to be practical. I own this exact model and have grey hair. I couldnt afford one when I didnt!! Just saying!

Honestly I have the opportunity to drive one of these Bad Boys 2 years ago... But I only drove that base model..this model is cool and all..but I'm assuming all those gimmicky features like the top part brings it up like 3 or 4 grand ( base price is 19000). What's the point of the top if the windshield doesn't even connect? I would love to purchase one tho. ( hopefully later when u can buy some used)

There is a aftermarket kit which is a mount, mirror and an always on backup camera slingshot owners always use. But Polaris should've put it in this fully loaded trim.

the great thimg about this is that there is an aftermarket rearview mirror, and turbo that gives you 280hp to the wheel. on top of the slingshots 30,000g price tag will run you to a total of about 35,000g all together. making it the most stylish and way more powerful sports car you will ever own. All for an affordable price most anybody can afford. can't wait til I get one.
