I couldn’t see the difference between the old slip gears and the new ones holding up to the sun. But now my truck starts nicely in the cold. Before it needed a couple of hours plugged in with block heater. I’m in Manitoba so this is serious. I’m very happy that this $150 part worked. Don’t strip your sae bolts with the impact on the installation like I did. Not a big deal.

Keep your 7.3 as long as you can afford to. It's that last engine Ford made that was bullet proof and reliable to 1 million miles. The rest of the truck would die before the engine ever will.

Yes sir! Doing that! Found an 02 F250 a few years back, had ~ 240K miles. Has ~305K now, had to replace high pressure pump, radiator, water pump, oil cooler, intercooler couplings, etc, & wondering now when the glow plugs or tranny go out, haha, but I use her everyday for work. Also threw on a DP Tuner chip. Wish I could afford some exhaust action, but truck pulls soooo much better with that DP chip.

Great video. You should test with a meter if any of the glow plugs work or not first. I have two that seemed dead and I heard that if even one doesn’t it can cause it. Bill has a Powerstroke video on lower oil pump which would be the next stage step if this doesn’t fix it. That’s a little bigger more expensive job, but doable.
