- Who takes steroids and are some Steroids safer than others?
It’s not just Bodybuilders, everyone from Chess Players to JFK have dabbled.
On this episode of the Escape Your Limits Podcast, our guest was the science editor of Muscle and Fitness magazine, an editor-at-large for Flex magazine, and a regular contributor to Ironman magazine for 28 years. His articles were the only articles read in bodybuilding magazines by 3-time Mr. Olympia champion, Frank Zane. He is the creator of Applied Metabolics, an in-depth newsletter about food supplements; exercise science; steroids, and much more.
Besides his writing, he has been a nutrition consultant for numerous elite, world-class athletes such as Floyd Mayweather Jr, Oscar de La Hoya, and Vassiliy Jirov. He was also a competitive bodybuilder himself and trained alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger at the original Gold’s gym in Venice, California in the 70s.
Today, he spills nothing but the truth about:
• The biggest mistakes most bodybuilders make
• The myths, truths, pros, and cons of steroids
• And how a lot of safe supplements can have deathly effects

I learned more from this video than listening to body builders talk about it for years.
Most bodybuilders are only concerned with the affects that will help increase body mass. They don't appear to be concerned with negative consequences.
The heart doesn't know muscle from fat so big is big.
@@ponzo1967 Exactly, and most, if not all, of these overweight bodybuilders should not be weighing a hundred pound of more. Most of them wouldn't even weigh 145 pounds naturally given their height.
This was such a great interview, Iv'e watched the whole thing several times, this is a good edit/clip, needs to be played in all gyms and lockers rooms once a day.
Jerry is brilliant!!!!
Go Jerry Go. You are my go to guy for information.
Excellent informative video. Thank You
Great podcast the doc appears to be thoroughly enjoying himself...👍
Thanks for listening
There was also cocaine in JFK's shot
Amazing very intersting and informative interview ,, thank u so much
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is great info, thanks, wow. Learned a lot 16:51
Very interesting
This guy knows a lot !
I love listening to Jerry, I always learn so much
interesting stuff, kind of weird that big pharma companies don't market these SARMS
So far not a single SARM had passed all 3 clinical trials, which is required before selling them.
cortisol and testosterone use the same building block pregnenalone. when cortisol is too high for too long we are talking about the "pregnenalone steal" and less is available to make testosterone.
there must be a reason that nature made it that way. maybe it makes sense to preserve energy for surviving in stressful times and not wasting energy for sex or building muscle.
for growing muscles you might hunt for the sweetspot of hard short workout but keeping the cortisol from getting to high.
✅
Great interview and information, thank you Matthew. -cmikegetfit
Chess players do take steroids, since we have androgen receptors in the brain and more androgens in the brain lead to faster fire rating of neurons.
All in the mind bro
14:52 thanks for interrupting at a critical point in the conversation, GREAT job!👍🏻
Atleast say, "Excuse me for interrupting, but you saying the truth of the matter is ______?"
No way around there, do you hear me, Coleman and Cutler? 😂😅
very good suggestions . but who`s that bold guy in rainbows sneakers💅
What if you were ones in great shape and fell off real bad and gained a lot of weight Could you still talk test or deca?
Test would definitely help
I watched this video in the hope that Jerry might say how safe Dianabol is. I'll have to find that out elsewhere I suppose.
It's pretty safe as Long as you don't abuse 😂 I'm surprised he didn't say so.
@@hollyguillory8122 . . I went on Google and asked the question . . and got an extremely negative review of it . . or at least I thought it was a review. It really painted Dianabol in a negative light, talking at great length about the dangers to the liver and kidneys, etc, as well as may other negative side effects and extreme dangers involved when you take it. It was only at the very end of the review that I noticed it was a paid presentation, brought to us consumers by the makers of the natural alternative, D-Bal Max. At $100 Australian per bottle, I decided not to buy it, and to stick with my pre-working cocktail of a couple of cookies and a cuppa coffee, and my post-workout protein load . . my dinner! But if the negative properties of Dianabol are only half as bad as that article painted to be, I won't be buying that either. I'm 69 and may just have to settle for what I can get via HIT training.
GREAT INFO
Thanks for watching!
@@EscapeFitness Jerry one of the smartest guys around - honest & lots of integrity he is around my age
I had to have steroids for my eyes. I could see for miles and miles.
Thank you for this video. It sounds like there might be benefits to Trenbolone - you'll make new friends every day.
Jerry has clearly never used Tren before lol i'm referring to the fat loss with this drug.
Who cares!!! Why keep questioning something that is no darn good for you, PERIOD! STAY AWAY FROM THAT SHIT!!!
Exactly....
