Nice addition to the truck! I like it too. It adds character and style. I also like the flag intro. I'm not sure when you started using it....shame on me....but I do feel its the best one. I've noticed it before but haven't said anything about it till now. Congratulations on selling the house!

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I've got the only one so far on a Ram DS... I took a Ram DT and 'modified' the mounting rails to make it work. Should be available in the next year for everyone else though.

Great video mate! I'm interested in getting one now as we tow full-time in Australia with a 2017 2500. I've got the same roller cover but it's getting sun faded and now has grey patches. Any clues on how to restore the black into it?

Good luck with the MRI. I'm terrified of tight spaces and they wanted to do an MRI for lower back issues and I told them I can't do it, so they said they would knock me out. When it was time first they gave me a sedative, then the anesthesiaologist came in and checked my heart rate. Long story short they couldn't do it because my heart rate went up to 160 even after another sedative. Now they believe me when I tell them I am terrified of confined spaces.
B Stewart ExecutiveCarCare Thanks bro! I am terrified also and unfortunately have had several MRI’s. I have to take a Pill 1 hour before my MRI to knock me out while I am in it. It sucks being like that but it’s better then knowing what’s happening. 😂

Try and get one that does NOT have a jatco transmission.i,ve had no issues but i know guys who have.First Daimler now Fiat...God help us Ram guys.

@@poyo3582 not what i was told.some do some dont...the other issue is the needle valve lifters.some say its a oil vicosity issue others say its a metallurgical/ mnfctr issue.wearing down cams and causing misfire codes."suposedly" dealt with by Dodge in 2015.dont get me wrong,i love the Ram we bought,2015.bought it strictly on my love of Dakotas,great trucks.i beat the hell out of 3 and zero tranny and engine issues.bought a Ram cuz we needed a larger beefier tow vehicle...i should have done better research...so far so good though.great paint,low miles,in state whole 21,000 miles,great mntnce record...what wasnt to like?
Love your videos! As a fellow Ram 1500 owner and camper owner, I have been kinda looking at this spoiler too. Have you noticed any changes with aerodynamic towing?
Chris Veach Thank you! No I haven’t really noticed a difference but I also hadn’t towed the camper to much before Installing the spoiler. I love it though and it really makes the back of the cab look so much better.
I have this egr installed maybe 2017 shortly after I purchased my 2016 Laramie…today it still looks the same…it’s held up well and I bought for looks and fear of rain coming in 3rd brake light
Replace that crack with short tube headers. Did it on my f150 and it sounds amazing plus it was little more peppy. Pretty sure i gained the acceleration i lost with my bigger tires and lift feels like it anyhow. Plus got another 1.5mpg

Like the video the truck looks great. Was wondering although you have the roll-n-lock does the spoiler eliminate the backdraft if rear window is open? Big problem I have dust/dirt etc in bed will blow into the cab

Say I install this and I already have a leak. Or maybe I don’t but would I lose my warranty if there ends up being a leak? Not that this would cause one or anything. Just curious.
Just installed on my RAM after watching the video looks great. Any thoughts on a video on placing the in cab filter for the RAM. Was surprised to find out many model years required you to modify the location to place the filter, not a standard option. What are the benefits of installing it? Thanks.
ffstahly I haven’t even thought about that to be honest. It’s a big advantage as it filters the air you breathe coming through your vents. Especially if you or anyone riding with you has allergies. A lot of manufacturers make it an option for some reason.

mark benson Thanks! Well it’s kind of hard to do here but I try and make videos before winter if I can and keep them. Otherwise I make videos at my work where I can wash indoors.
it looks great i checked egr website to get one for my truck but they don't make them for a 04 dodge ram

Fyi we thought on my buddy's ram with same noise was a leaking manifold/exhaust turns out it was a valve seat coming out apart and eventually ruin the motor it's common look it up also the lifters and cam loob also come apart/wear off get it check before it leaves you stranded
miasmaro98 Thanks for the info! Yeah I know all about it I am a mechanic and have seen it a few times. I checked it before I bought it and the right side manifold gasket is blown out in a small spot. Gonna remove it soon and fix it.

I got the spoiler for my Rebel but need to find which waterproof caulk that’s strong enough to last
It should have come with windshield adhesive. If not you want the 3M Urethane sealant that’s used for windshields. It has done great on my truck and it’s been on for over 4 years.
It does look good, I wonder if it could be painted and clear coated to match the body colour? How’s the texture of it?
Jamie Rosenthal Thanks! Yes it can be paint to match. People in the Amazon reviews painted theirs. I think it looks good Black because of all the black on the truck. It is completely smooth with no texture to it. I plan on putting a coating on it to protect it.

honest D Thanks! With everything in the camper for camping it was right at 6,000 lbs. It does good but it really could use more power. It’s all In the hitch system you buy. I use a Trunnion hutch so the truck stays level. They are expensive but worth every penny if you tow a camper.
Cool cars. I have a wk1 and a 4th gen ram aswell! Have you seen any mpg increase with the cab spoiler? Looking to put one on my crew cab
Haven’t noticed any gains in MPG to speak of. It’s more for looks and keeps water off the third brake light.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailingjust did some research on it and it supposedly makes the trucks more aerodynamic which reduces drag which should give you better mpg and acceleration. Gonna order one asap! My eco diesel needs all the mpgs it can get lol

LJM2stepspain Thanks! So that was quite the debate because I thought I should paint but everyone else said keep it black. I’m glad I listened because it adds a nice touch with the rest of the black on the truck.
So I’m looking to get one of these for my 3rd gen Ram. Basically what I’m thinking of doing is customizing it to fit. The 3rd gens have Basicaly the same size 3rd brake light and width. Only difference is the 3rd gens have more of an arch. So I would need to curve it to fit the truck. My question is was this spoiler really sturdy or is there some flexibility to it. do you think I could heat and form it to fit my cab.
It didn’t seem flexible at all. I don’t think heating it would do any good. Look on www.americantrucks.com website and see if they offer one for your truck.
Hey brother how are you did you ever get the roof spoiler onto your 3rd gen? And if you did how did you do it? And what year did you have to buy the spoiler meaning if it was from a 2009 dodge ram or 2011 in order for it to fit good?
How's it holding up ? I ordered mines after watching your video. I think I'll go with double 3m tape right below the original lines are at. Did you make any differences for installation? How's it holding up now after a year or so?
Oh man I love it! People ask me about it all the time. The adhesive that comes with it is what holds windshields in place. Once it cures it’s not going anywhere.

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing yea movings a pain.we relocated from ct to tn 1.5 yrs ago.it took us 6mos. to pack and get rid of " stuff" tip: the donate clothes bins were a blessing.
It looks like it’s sloping down instead of being level with the top of the cab. Is this true? If so, can it be mounted level?
Yes you can mount it level. I’m person it doesn’t look like it’s sloping but I had to make sure it covered the entire dent.

Just bought this but it would arrive in 15 days.. Is there enough "roof" to cover/deflect the rain from hitting the third light directly?
Ex J Yes It will completely cover the third brake light to keep water from getting in it.

As long as you use the urethane adhesive that comes with it. Once it cures it’s not coming off without a lot of effort.

Why would I take it off? It suppose to be a permanent modification.
It’s attached with tape. It’s not permanent by any means ole son.
@@rickylee2477 No it’s attached with polyurethane sealant that holds windshields in. The tape is there to help hold it while the polyurethane cures.

Any issues with it going through a car wash?
I only use touch free car washes in the winter and it’s been fine. First few times I was worried about the drier going over the top of it but have had zero issues.

Now I have to clean her all over again :) (that's what your vid's are for)! Anyway, maybe they will come out with a newer version for the 2019's and the new body styles! One question for ya. I'm looking for a tire dressing that can take that trip and clean up nicely without having to strip and apply all over again. Any ideas? Not looking for glossy shine but satinesq.... Thank you!
dj 91 Tire shines can be tricky depending on the environment they are in. Your best best is CarPro Perl diluted 1:1. I can usually get 2-3 weeks out of it.
FAB Automotive Detailing Thank you sir! Going to give that a try. I currently use Meguiars Express for my tires (100%). I love the not to shiny shine but durability is not good and this trip absolutely killed my tires. Dirt, dust, freezing rain and yes snow. We were between 8,500 feet and up to 12,000 feet.
dj 91 I also don’t like shiny tires! PERL gives a nice satin finish. Ethos tire shine is also a good choice but doesn’t have quite the life of CarPro.
