    Why remove the whole head? Why not just screw off the head and screw back on the cap? Thanks!

    My sprinkler head does not have a visible cap that I can easily screw off to clean the filter. What do I do in this case?

    Do you have to shut off the water to the system prior to taking off the sprinkler head? Or just make sure the system isn't on during the repair is enough?

      You shouldn’t need to turn off your water. I just removed a sprinkler head without turning off the water and there was no leak.

      No pressure. But you should know your programmed times. Usually on in the early a.m. or at night.

    Are these caps universal? Will any hardware store have them? Do I need to turn the water to the sprinklers off first?

    What happens in cold climates where lines are blown out in the fall? Seems like water will be trapped in lines to capped heads during blow out then drain back to a valve to freeze if the head is higher than the valve.

      You just need the majority of water gone, not all of it.

      It would only be a concern if the last head in the zone was capped off. Otherwise, water being blown out would just be blown past the capped head and out the next open head/s.

    If I have multiple sprinkler under 1 zone, and I put cap on a couple of them, would they still rise up?

    • @davidh4921
      @davidh4921 Před 3 měsíci

      Yes and they each would have more water pressure than before

    And then be sure to blow the line out afterwards because from looking at video dirty water/mud was noticeable when the pvc cap was put on.

    The 1800 caps are too big for my sprinkler heads. Are there any smaller ones?

    • @user-zf3xb3qx8w
      @user-zf3xb3qx8w Před 2 měsíci

      probably non RainBird. Mine you have to watch the thread count: I can ALMOST use the plumbing caps but no cigar: wont' go on clean. RainBird is a brand, Go Azusa HS. !!

    What size pvc cap does it take ?

    • @ralphtomaccio4640
      @ralphtomaccio4640 Před 11 měsíci

      Rotary are usually 3/4” and spray heads usually 1/2”.

    First, you that the tires off your car... then you put air in them, and then put the tires back on your car!
