This was really helpful, thank you, the issue I have is scrolling through the menu only part of the 2nd menu is displayed ((where you see the number 2 to the upper right of each displayed item, usually average speed, average consumption, ragen on the tank left etc) and this reads 40.0mpg, then 9999mi. Tried the reet and it does not resolve the issue, any ideas please?

What’s the light mean when it’s the one with the triangle and arrow around it? It comes on when it’s a bit slippery out then when I turn it off then back on it goes away. Possibly traction control light? Because I’ve also been reading it’s a catch all warning light too. The code scanner isn’t pick up any codes

It is a warning light for your traction control system, but it can be caused by a number of things. It illuminates when you turn traction control off, but in my car it sometimes came on as I had an intermittent connection to the steering angle sensor, which is a key part of traction system. I am not sure if that would be picked up by a regular code scanner, but VCDS was able to tell me about it and that it was intermittent. I lived with it for three years without any major issue, but I would have preferred to have fixed it.
