🥁 🎤 🔥🔥If you want snare mic. (Affiliate link) sweetwater.sjv.io/WqgWxM
Jeremy, this was so awesome!! Of course, you'd be the one to go rogue on this mic 😂 We loved it!
🫡
I was in the market for a vocal tube mic, couldn't make my mind up, then I heard a singer who put a Gold Lion tube into his Lauten 320. Game changer! The mic sounds like it's worth $3000 (to my ears, at least). So I just ordered it 🙂 So big thanks to people like Mr. Lauten who makes it possible for people who struggle with budget to still get awesome gear, and big thanks to people like Jeremy who show us how to use less expensive gear and make it sound like a million dollar!
On a side note, your description mentions studio one. Unbelievable program. The editing workflow is severely underrated, all the guys get jealous watching my workflow rn lol.
Thought the audio examples were terrible, then I remembered I was at 1.5x speed! Sounds good!
Best snare top mic and best guitar cab mic for the price hands down…anybody still on the fence about this mic just needs to pull the trigger…best guitar tone I’ve gotten next to a Royer/57 combo…get this mic. If you’re doing full band live recordings you will thank this microphone every time! I know they have the Eden but the 208 should honestly be considered their flagship mic.
Trent's the man!!! I love Lauten Audio, I have the Atlantis and its my favorite vocal mic.
Great stuff - I love my LS208 - and Trent is absolutely awesome
I bought the Lauten LS308 after seeing your video because I wanted to record a narrator in an untreated room with some reverb and also the occasional laptop fan noise … and it does great! It's the first mike I could use from a distance of about ten inches without hiss and echo taking completely over (I'd still recommend using a Drawmer DS101 noise gate), even way more expensive shotgun mikes didn't do any better. Closer up, like 2 inches away, it sounds at least as good as my Sennheiser HMD27 headset, but with more low end. Also I would really recommend using the LS208 shock mount with a table top tripod, as the regular clamp is very touchy in regards to steps or contact with the cable.
Now speaking of problem solvers: I wish Lauten did an affordable ribbon microphone … with phantom power for pre pre-amp amplification, and a cardioid pattern 😉
Great as always! When The legend himself Darrell Thorp says a company is"rad" they make killer stuff. If it's good enough for him everyone should have it🤘
I can’t wait to buy two of em. I gotta get one for the snare bottom!
just bought one of these bad boys cant wait to give it a spin
cool song dude! dig your vibes
I love the lauten 308 on guitar cabs. Sounds almost ribbon-y. 208 on snare is killer but this new mic would be very handy.
Also atlantas is bloody phenomenal... vocal mic heaven.
Nice. I have a pair of 308's and I love them. Was looking at the 208 but might have to go with this instead.
I bought the LA-300 tube condenser and it is next level. I'm using the Warm MPX pre amp with it and my god !
THe 208's been my "go-to" snare mic since I got it back in March of this year. The HPF and LPF's are amazing and it just sounds great. Also excellent on bass cabs and as a mono OH. Also picked up a Clarion used in July -- it's been the only vocal mic I've used since. The size of the 208 makes it a bit awkward for snare,...but, looks like the Snare mic solved that -- thanks for spending my money.
Clarion is a sleeper man. Video actually coming on that
Dude the Clarion has been in my top 3 all time favorites for years now. Every chance I get I name drop it just trying to get more people to know about it, because it gets ignored hardcore by the online and studio communities. You made an absolute great choice getting it. I hope you turn out some hits with it.
@@RecordingStudioLoser Do the whole world a favor and when you do your video add in a clip with the Clarion on the outside kick, please. The only thing I've ever found that even comes close to the FC-357 on kick is a $7,000 Wunder mic. I still prefer the Lauten over the Wunder. I prefer the Lauten over the U47 FET.
Trent is the man!!!! Nobody nicer in the biz.
I'm glad he found other uses for this mic. $398 for a snare drum mic when the Audix I5 ,Sure SM57, sE V7x etc all go for $99. But then again I'm not a professional recording engineer there is that 😛 Anyone know what snare mic was used on Dave Grohl's Tama Bell Brass snare ? I heard it was a SM57 ?
Everything, every source in those demo tracks, sounds SO! PRESENT! 😳😳 What is this magic?? lol
Good band. Good mic.
@@RecordingStudioLoser A good band can still sound like they’re coming from dying speakers in another room, so, kudos to you and Lauten 🤷🏼♂️😄

I have been using a LS208 on snare for a while. It simply sounds great and the Hi Hat rejection is amazing. My only negative is the size and now they solved that!
And now you can use 208s on cabs. Where they really belong.
Welp. I guess I'm spending all my money on Lauten mics now. Thanks, Jeremy.
Could be worse.
LOOOVE THIS! Sooo… do you like it better / different / same than the LS-208?
Sound wise they’re similar. But if we’re speaking just snare drum, I like this better because it’s way easier to place on a tight kit.
That mic on guitar and bass made me stop and pay attention. Nice nice nice
👀
So does the Snare Mic supercede the 208? Or are they different beasties?
Similar. If you like the 208 you’ll like this.
I'm really interested how this one sounds comparing the earthworks Dm20 or DPA 4099 core.
Same. I have talked to DPA. Even buying the mics, their displeasure with the idea was made clear.
@@RecordingStudioLoser I think an independend mic shoot-out would be great. I don't care if DPA doesn't like the idea of such a shoot-out. If they are confinced of their product they would not have any problem with it. By the way: their mics will always be bought. I want the best solution for live and recording. Unfortunately I'm not yet in the position to buy every mic I want just to test them out. So if I can buy one amazing mic for both live and recording, I want to know what to buy. So it would be amazing if you could make a video and compare them!!
I totally agree. But I’m not really in a position to buy every mic myself either. Even when companies send mics, there’s no garuntee of a video. And No one can buy an opinion.
I have bought items to compare before, many times… but after talking to whoever I spoke to at dpa ( it’s been awhile. They may not be there anymore) I got less interested in shining a light that way. And was motivated to work with companies that are interested in the craft. The design process. Knowledgeable about their own products… respectful in a conversation. Etc.
@@RecordingStudioLoser I totally understand your filosophy. Even if you don't do a video, how are these dpa and lauten mics compared to each other?
What is the name of the song?
Eh eh, the hashtags that spring to mind are...

Guess for the next weeks it's gonna be Lauten snare mics all over this damn Sweetwater storefront that audio YT-mart has become. Oh well.
🤷🏼♂️
Anyway, sounds pretty good (most Lauten mics are very good, in my experience), phatt, still have to hear a convincing demo & side by side all things equal shootout with the other classic snare mics (SM57, SM7B, Beta57, Sennheiser 441, Beyerdynamic 201, etc) that really proves this fantastc rejection it supposedly has.
Also, it is at least 2x the price it ought to be IMHO.
