In short the inhabitants were originally all Gormaks but when they were introduced to the Force by the Jedi they changed drastically and became the Voss. Over time, the Voss forgot their origins and treated the Gormaks as barbaric savages while the Gormak treated the Voss as a corruption. Discovering their story is one of the best parts of the game and I tell the Voss every time. I also help that Gormak to travel to the stars.
Let’s be fair: There was no way the Jedi could have predicted a physiological change, let alone to such a degree. This was also during a very early period of their Order’s existence, likely when they were still learning about what did what when it came to stuff like the Force. I’m quite sure the Jedi introduce Force Sensitive races like the Gormaks to the Force so they don’t fall to the Dark Side on mass, which usually happens when the Force is misused. This also happened to the Sith species, who lost their window to avert falling when they drove the Rakata away from their planet.
Depending on how rude the Gormak are to me during the few interactions we have with them i sometimes help them get to the stars and other times i dont.
You really get a feel for this story if you play SWTOR, cause once you hit Voss on the empire side you can learn their whole history through the planet story mission. They’re truly fascinating

Love the protolightsabers. It's pretty cool and reslistic that ancient lightsabers were connected to a power pack through a cable and needed to be constantly recharged. Widh to see them in more products
I love star wars species so much to know about them their history and their culture l want to see the Voss in future of star wars
The last Gormak must not die.
Ngl I've been a star wars fan since A new hope came out in theaters but I straight up thought the wookies were originally at war with the Ewoks lol
Yes and Yes. SWTOR era is so cool.
I wish that Lucusfilm could make an Old Republic saga and make some of that SWTOR content as part of canon.
@@orckingi1208 Somethings are, but a lot of those games are also multiple choice so can only get so much. Still adding the Republic & Sith Empire from those times in as Battlefront factions would be good/cool.
@@DarkApostleNoek I meant something similar to the Skywalker Saga but taking place in the SWTOR era instead. Since the Skywalker Saga is complete, maybe they could go hundreds of years into the past and make a movie saga taking place in the Old Republic.
Somehow, Voss fits the description of one of Attack on Titan's famous quotes "this world is so cruel yet so beautiful" a lot in my opinion.
P.S: What is going to happen if the Jedi somehow told the Voss that they were responsible for turning them into the Voss from the Gormaks in the first place?
I don’t know about the Jedi, but I always had my Sith Toons throw the Jedi under the bus
I love the voss species they are a very interesting and powerful species.
That prophecy was true. The Gormak were instrumental in the fight against the Eternal Empire. Without that prophecy... The Voss would have lost.
I enjoyed when the Eternal Empire brought them together in almost a comedic way in SWTOR. Literally just stranded saying F the rivalry we ain’t tryna die
Yep! I'm interested!
honestly space tibet was my favorite new eu addition swtor did
Nice episode.
This was a pretty cool planet to visit in swtor, but on a bigger note. I can’t believe we are going to hear this sound 0:45 remastered in a couple days
Oh my god :D
Truly glorious lore
Please do a topic about the High Republic
I’m honestly not surprised that both the old Republic and Sith empire have tried their hardest to get them to side with one of them.🐱
I think I saw a voss in the mandalorian season 2, so sometime after those events you mentioned some might have left voss
If you play far enough in SWTOR, some do leave the planet.
More pls
Gormak: You are corruption!
Voss: No, you are the corruption!
Sel-Makor: Dance puppets! Dance!
🤣
Like a Voss!
Whoa was not expecting this. The boss are so interesting yet can be so annoying
2:18 hahah
I like the autumn forest vibe.
And Voss girls are hot!
Voss girls, Twi'lek girls, or Zeltron girls, who's hottest?
@@Serocco Zeltron!
@@arhexirthewistful5891 Great choice! I had a crush on Luxa from KOTOR 2 as a kid.
You got discord?
Permission to do a Sepan Civil War against them so to bring back discipline to the roughhousers?
That aside, their nonsense reminds me of the Heresy Wars between the Kiith Gaalsien and the Kiith Siidim in the Homeworld games, as showcased in the manual for the first game and the backstory of Deserts of Kharak.
What game were some of the screen-caps from?
The story and screenshots are from swtor
So is where Quilon Vos got his last name? If so, it looks like Commander Gree wasn't the only one named after another species.
Wow
I think the reason the Voss can’t exterminate the Gormak is if they did, the Balance in the Force will be broken and then Zelmakor will destroy Voss and the Dark side consumes them
Is this all from the old republic?
i defenitly can see why the gormaks hated other sentients so mutch its a lot of simularity there with the sand people of tatooin with hating outsiders beeing a big fan of fighting etc. but also some big differences like their views on technology.
While the Voss were often seemed to be the better options in continuing to be allies to the Republic, but it was the interference of the Jedi that perhaps cause a lot more harm than good considering how much they affected the lives of all the sapient species on the planet. This is a example of having good intentions, but creating dire consequences.
Just another jedi atrocity
👍
Gonna be honest, I don't think I'd even heard of these two until I saw this video 😅
I think their only appearance is in SWTOR, you should check it out if you’ve never played it before
It's pretty curious the gender dimorphism in the Voss species, being the males blue-skinned and the females red-skinned. It reminds me of the one devaronians show, being the males literal demons and the females furries
The essential thing peacefull people must do, is to be so well armed that nobody will dare to attack you. It makes sense.
6:41 Try that approach in the USA and convince their 'christians' to the Voss way.
Answers on a postcard please..😂
It's a good thing I played as a light side imperial agent so i could married a Voss woman.
The Gromak were right.
are their skin patterns tatoos or natural?
Gormaks sound like they'd make great Sith candidates... if Sith happened to like the OTHER Tusken Raiders...
Odd... "Eternal War" vision there too as its WAY easier for EVERYONE and EVERYTHING in all franchises to wage war an force your enemy(s) into peace or surrender then try an absolutely annihilate them which in all realities an franchises is about universally considered impossible to do or not in line with even some of the most evil powers in the combined multiverses franchises preferences. Vast majority of such factions showing totally unable to do such a deed anyways.. so odd the Voss NEVER thought of this obvious point an no one in universe ever tried to point these things out. Totally wiping the otherside out often is the worst way possible to try an win a war especially if yours isn't the bigger side an ONLY so powerful
As someone who got back into SWTOR after so long
I swear to *God* I’ve been waiting for someone-You guys-To cover this race after running the Imperial storylines (Mostly Inquisitor) so many times.
Thank you for this 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌
