I’m guessing they’ll do some changes for the grand final, but the darkness is suitable in the performance.

She is more probability to win if she sing for Italy then Norway. That sure. But in Italy she need to sing in Italian and Norway in english = she sing for Norway lol. Seriously she deserve to win like Barbara Pravin in 2021 or Chanel recently. But yes norway are good in télé votes (and maybe if she represent Italy she have 2x more points) but in jury votes i don’t sure she will have more points then if she represent Italy.
And for me I think same for stagging. We need fire and fireworks !

The intro is typical Norwegian folk song. She chose to sing it in Italian, because she is half Norwegian half Italian. I think some of the negative comments are just people being petty because its a popular song and they want another song to be more popular. Shine on Alessandra, you slay and nothing can take that away from you!

I love how the back-up dancers stay in BACK of their Queen. Too many Eurovision dancers come close to upstaging the star. I love the Norway dark Viking Northern lights vibe... and she is a powerhouse warrior... LOVE this!
I think the team at Norway must have watched this video, cuz they clarified the lighting and staging will be more dynamic in Liverpool, going from darkness to light. So get hyped :p

She's an amazing performer, with an incredible voice but I agree, wholeheartedly. Also, Rasmussen did the whole viking thing a few years back and more convincingly.
This can definitely quality but is it a winner? Hmmm...I'm not too sure. I haven't heard all of the other songs just yet but my reservation is that I've heard similar songs like this before. Would be interesting to see this on the big Eurovision stage. :)

Is it just me or is this year gonna be weaker than last year? So far maybe 2 songs caught my attention (Norway included) and I'm already missing 2022...

Okay, so, every year, I wait until the ESC YT official channel has the complete playlist of all of the entries. Then I _listen_ through, on shuffle, twice, phone screen off. That's how I judge the songs and pick my favs. Only after that do I watch the videos.
This year, nothing stood out for me, either bad or good. I did like this one, though. Sadly, it hasn't grown on me, and has been displaced as one of my favorites by other entries that I find myself wanting to relisten to. Don't get me wrong, I still like it.
But … and this is a problem I find with most ESC entries that send a song in English instead of their own language … the lyrics are what I call an "English-Phrase Salad." To a native English speaker like me, the lyrics don't hold together. They _almost_ do, but _not quite enough._ The "English-Phrase Salad" effect is kinda like the linguistic version of the Uncanny Valley: it _almost_ sounds like English, but something is _off,_ something's not quite right, causing it to feel … a bit "wrong," maybe even a bit cringe.
I still kinda like it, but the "English-Phrase Salad" effect has kinda ruined it for me. It's in my top-10, just not my top-5.

I love this so much that I'm sadly disappointed in her official video... like they took my warrior Queen and turned her into an avant guard dystopian princess... I wanted something swashbuckling with the power of her live performance! Maybe with a wind machine? She is my favorite... I only hope she returns as my dynamic Queen on the Eurovision stage.

Klara will probably say exactly the same as Natalie said on the behalf of the Swedish Jury, when handing out the Swedish Jury votes at the final of Norsk Melodi Grand Prix: "Och 12 poäng går till Alessandra!" Which means: "And 12 points go to Alessandra!"
She would say; Why did I not use that music key (Emin.), that chords, that rhythm tempo (BPM/tempo of 126 beats per minute) and that lyrics.

This is my favourite song so far, though admittedly 2023 is shaping up to be the weakest competition in a long time (so far!) While the vibe is Scandinavian, the tune is like an Italian tarantella.

I enjoy the song. It's very catchy and playful. The only thing it needs to change is to incorporate her in the choreography. For the rest is a good representation of norway.
I don't agree, It is not a dance competition. Like Chanel added so much pre-recorded backing vocal so she would be able to dance that much. I rather they sing than dance in Eurovision SONG Competition.

Well that's only your opinion. It's not always the songs YOU like that are going to win, because the music taste is different. According to the bookies NORWAY have good chance to win. So maybe you have to eat your words in May. Only time will tell.

Im sorry despite she has a good voice, this entry doesnt get me warm. Its very generic and we have seen and heard this style so many before on the ESC stage. This isnt spiritual at all in my feel. It will have its many fans across the board and could easily qualify. It could do top 10, but also mid table. All the best.
It already have many fans across the boarders. It has gone viral on TikTok in both Europa and USA. It was nr. 1 on Spotify top 50 global most shared songs, it is now nr. 3, no other ESC 2023 are even on the list. Odds nr. 3 to win, now closing the gap to Sweden as nr. 2. She won the public votes and the jury votes. And have gotten good reviews of music journalist. So I think you will be surprised in May.
I believe people like you always get pissed off when a certain song becomes viral and climbs up the odds. We can say the same about the "generic ballads" we hear every single year and which are extremely overrated by the juries. In fact, nothing can be 100% original nowadays, cause music isn't rocket science! But personally I haven't heard this sound anywhere else but in Norwegian entries. It's really captivating and mysterious. THIS is what a random fan expects to see in Eurovision 2023, not politics, controversial songs or bland compositions. :D

Would they have granted Alessandra 12 points and wanting her to represent Norway in the Liverpool if they thought this song was a copy of a Swedish entry from last year? Hardly. @annafiore1640 Hey Anna, the reason for refering to the Swedish jury vote, wasn't to use this as evidence for "good quality", but to state that the Swedish jury acknowledge that the song "Queen of Kings" isn't a copy of last year's "Run to the hills". This because they know plagiarism isn't allowed at this music competition and surely wouldn't give credit to a song which doesn't meet the requirements.
Last year Klara Hammerström was the one to be confronted by the medias about similarities between "Run to the hills" and a song released the year before: "Thunder", by the Austrian DJ Lum!x. Klara said back then that although Thunder was a very big inspiration for her to write Run to the hills, the songs aren't alike besides of the rythm. I'm certain that Lum!x (Luka) could've been confronted the same way by possible similarities between his music and other songs made prior to his own, and so on. Klara has made it clear that if anyone feels inspired by her then that's the greatest compliment that an artist could have. She has stated that she of course is cheering for Norway, according to an interview. Alessandra has claimed that she didn't hear Run to the hills prior to producing Queen of Kings. There's no conflict between Klara and Alessandra, even though some people seem to enjoy making it seems that way in their comments.
Queen of Kings and Run to the hills have different key, different chords, different rythm and different lyrics, according to the producers. Some have drawn similarities between Queen of Kings and another song "En til". "En til" was produced by the two co-producers on Queen of Kings that Alessandra cooperates with, but again the key, rytmn and lyrics are different. "En til" was also released before Running to the hills.
To say a few words about this years Spanish entry, that you mention in your comment. I would regard this as a good entry. As I haven't heared the other Spanish entries, it's hard for me to have an opinion about this being a vise choice of song or not, in terms of which song having the greatest chanse at the international final of the ESC. In general I can mention that I do like Spanish rythms, and the traditional touch that this song clearly has. It doesn't surprise me that it achieved a high score. Although there would be similarities to existing songs, that makes us feel that this song is indeed Spain and not from let's say the UK or Greece, that still doesn't bother me as long as we're not talking about a copy of another song. The same goes to all the other contributions. None have created a brand new music genre by any means. They're all a result of existing music one way or another, without it meaning that they're copying each other to an extent that they're not an original piece of music. Well that's my thoughts.

And by the way, EDM can be traced back to the 1970. So if Sweden can win in 2012 with a EDM song, So can Alessandra in 2023. It is usually nothing new that wins ESC, all the songs in ESC are similar to other songs, same genre of music... No songs in ESC 2023 is original or something new, so it is a matter of taste, like it is every year. And this song is a lot of peoples taste, it is why it have gone viral on TikTok in Europe and USA. And was nr. 1 on Spotify most global shared songs. It is now nr. 3 , no other ESC 2023 songs are even on the top 50 list.
I don't get the hype. There's nothing special or interesting in this song. No regular viewer will remember it 2 days after the show.

Right! It is literally copy-paste of Run to the hills by Clara Hammarström, I thought it was the same song when I heard it the first time. Just basic pop, song. Czech Republic, on the other hand, I can listen on repeat. So much better
It is about the whole package, song, vocal, choreo, staging. Right now we don't know what Czechia's staging will look like as the NF final staging and performance was very weak
@@sav0001 The Eurovision stage is completely different. Last year the UK and Spain did not become winner potential until rehearsals. Noa Kirel from Israel is expected to have a pop song with dancing.
