  • Rock Art, Epic Waterfalls, Campfires & VIEWS! KAKADU NATIONAL PARK, remote traveling, it doesn't get any better than this.
Swimming at Maguk Falls is a 2km walk/scramble over rocks from the car park so pack water, suncream and wear comfortable shoes. It really is worth the walk in, beautiful (safe) water - a refreshing way to cool off.
Join us round the campfire for dinner at Maguk Campground. Yes, it’s roasting hot but the campfire was a must! Northern Territory steak - camp cooking at its finest.
Our final stop in this video is the Anbangbang Billabong and Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Rock Art - we found this very educational and humbling. Sunset picnic at the lookout was mind-blowing, the scale of Kakadu really does need to be seen to be believed.

    HELPFUL INFO #KakaduNationalPark:
    1. ⛺️ When camping, a lot of camp sites are honesty box systems that require cash, so make sure you grab some! You can find an ATM in Jabiru
    2. ⏳ We spent 4 days in Kakadu and we felt that was enough time. We didn’t feel too rushed, plus it was HOOOOOT and we were dying ha.
    3. 📱 Use Wikicamps to find locations and camp site PRICING - it varies. And don’t forget you’ll need to pay a fee to get into the national park - visitor centre has all the info
    4. 🤙 Kakadu is much more spread out than Litchfield so map out the activities you want to do, and choose the ones near each other per day to save on fuel
    5. 🚙 Speaking of fuel, you can grab some in Jabiru. It is pricey, so fill up jerry cans before you get into Kakadu if you can
    6. 🍺 Once you’re in the national park, you can’t buy alcohol (or you couldn’t when we were there) as it’s a dry community. So if you fancy a tipple, buy before you arrive
    7. 🪰 Flies flies flies flies flies. Buy a fly net or suck it up LOL (try not to suck the flies up mind, they will try and get in your mouth - as Soph found out - gross)
    8. 🌅 Whilst we enjoyed Kakadu and found it totally different to Litchfield, the landscapes of Litchfield really blew us away. So for that reason, we'd recommend exploring Kakadu first before heading to Litchfield
    9. ♻️ Always take your rubbish with you 👍
Some FACTS about Kakadu National Park:
    1. Kakadu is Australia’s biggest national park, covering nearly 20,000 square kilometres
    2. You will find ancient landscapes with thundering waterfalls, lush rainforests, wandering wetlands and exotic wildlife - yes lots of Northern Territory crocodiles
    3. Kakadu National Park is a World Heritage listing renowned for both its cultural AND natural values. Pretty impressive
    4. There’s more than 5,000 Aboriginal rock art site, some dating 5,000 - 20,000 years old!
    5. Yellow Water Billabong cruise is incredible! We couldn’t get on it but EVERYONE said how good it is

Join us next week, we head to Katherine to explore Katherine Gorge, Edith Falls and Katherine Hot Springs.

The Cathedral Termite Mound Quest continues..! Thanks guys - lots of tips for my next winter into NT. Those 🪰’s are the price that we pay here in 🇦🇺for such raw natural splendour! Great stuff again 👍

@@IfNotNow the trip was epic. Everything was perfect and more. We vlogged a bit but mainly photos. We were very busy clocking up over 2000 kms in 2 weeks.

And 2000km in England you’ll see ALOT, not like at home where that’ll just get you to Perth and back 😅😆

    Loctite and/or Nyloc nuts!

Good advice. The tray rack has nylon nuts on it, but they still seem to come loose. I’ve come to the conclusion that the less nuts and bolts the better might move to a rack that is less ikea style and more solid.

Go and get a heap of spring washers and put one on all of those bolts or nuts….

HA. We motored pretty quick straight after. They also lock the gates to some of the car parks at “sunset” (which is pretty silly if you ask us) so didn’t want to get caught short 😄🤙
