- (Part 1) Kakadu, is BUCKET LIST stuff for most who #travelAustralia, but is it all it’s cracked up to be? We’ve explored Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory and we think that’s pretty hard to beat… You’ll have to watch our little #travelvlog to find out 🤙😁

Highlights:
0:00 Driving to Kakadu
3:40 Epic Drone & 4WD
5:00 Maguk Campground
6:40 Maguk Falls
13:28 Jabiru Visitor Centre
15:00 Crocodiles! Cahills Crossing
17:56 Humbling Rock Art
23:04 Ubirr Lookout at Sunset
Swimming at Maguk Falls is a 2km walk/scramble over rocks from the car park so pack water, suncream and wear comfortable shoes. It really is worth the walk in, beautiful (safe) water - a refreshing way to cool off.
We head to Cahills Crossing to see saltwater crocodiles, wish we had a bigger camera to get some better close up shots. Watch this space on that one!
Our final stop in this video is the Ubirr Rock Art & sunset - we found this very educational and humbling. The breathtaking views from the top of the lookout were just wonderful to experience at sunset, so pack some snacks and settle in. Hopefully it's not as windy for you as it was for us...
*HELPFUL INFO* about #KakaduNationalPark:
1. ⛺️ When camping a lot of camp sites are honesty box systems that require cash, so make sure you grab some! You can find an ATM in Jabiru
2. ⏳ We spent 4 days in Kakadu and we felt that was enough time. We didn’t feel too rushed, plus it was HOOOOOT and we were dying ha.
3. 📱 Use Wikicamps to find locations and camp site PRICING - it varies. And don’t forget you’ll need to pay a fee to get into the national park - visitor centre has all the info
4. 🤙 Kakadu is much more spread out than Litchfield so map out the activities you want to do, and choose the ones near each other per day to save on fuel
5. 🚙 Speaking of fuel, you can grab some in Jabiru. It is pricey, so fill up jerry cans before you get into the national park if you can
6. 🍺 Once you’re in the national park, you can’t buy alcohol (or you couldn’t when we were there) as it’s a dry community. So if you fancy a tipple, buy before you arrive
7. 🪰 Flies flies flies flies flies. Buy a fly net or suck it up LOL (try not to suck the flies up mind, they will try and get in your mouth - as Soph found out in Part 2 Gross)
8. 🌅 Whilst we enjoyed Kakadu and found it totally different to Litchfield, the landscapes of Litchfield really blew us away. So for that reason, we'd recommend exploring Kakadu first before heading to Litchfield
9. ♻️ Always take your rubbish with you 👍
Some FACTS about Kakadu National Park:
1. Kakadu is Australia’s biggest national park, covering nearly 20,000 square kilometres
2. You will find ancient landscapes with thundering waterfalls, lush rainforests, wandering wetlands and exotic wildlife - yes lots of Northern Territory crocodiles
3. Kakadu National Park is a World Heritage listing renowned for both its cultural AND natural values. Pretty impressive
4. There’s more than 5,000 Aboriginal rock art site, some dating 5,000 - 20,000 years old!
5. Yellow Water Billabong cruise is incredible! We couldn’t get on it but EVERYONE said how good it is

Oh sick! You’re on to him too. He’s brilliant. He’s been on a tonne of podcasts too - you should check him out on the Lewis Howes School of Greatness podcast. 🤙

Also, pumped you got to the end lol.
Awesome vid guys…that view at the end 👍
Thanks mate!
Absolutely loved this episode…. Omg can’t believe you swam in that spot even if it looks stunning!!! My favourite the voice dubbing BRILLIANT 😂 KEEP UP THE ADVENTURES
Ahhhh thanks legend!! Yeah it is kinda crazy that they’ll be croc signs along the creek to the waterfall but apparently the waterfall is safe 🤔 the rangers were very certain that we would be sweet… ha bet they don’t take responsibility though 😅
Awww the old Motorola razor, loved that phone! 😂 loved this episode, we are going to Kakadu next year. You captured it beautifully, great work!
I know, right! I wish I could find the old Motorola razor such a classic! Enjoy the trip, guys; you will have a blast. Let us know how you get on and if you have any questions.
@@IfNotNow Thank! We will be sure to hit you up if we have any questions 😁
Well done guys (again) ! Ubirr looks great. Will certainly put that on my list to visit for sure. Duncan’s ‘bogan’ voice-over was definitely a highlight of this episode✅. Great to see you both use cre8tive narrative - story-telling techniques. Enjoying your adventures. Shrimpy
Thanks Shrimpy! We agree, it’s definitely one to add to the list. Next week we’ll have a few more places in Kakadu for you to add to your list 🤙
Please do more voice overs! 🤙
Hahahaa glad you approve. It took a more than a couple of takes 🤣
YEEEEWWWWW! Enjoy guys! And if you’re heading to Kakadu (or Litchfield for that matter) you can drop us a message if you’ve got any questions bugging you 🤜 we spent a month in the Top End so should be able to help! X
What she said. Lol
Great vlog guys. Loved the voice over Dunc. You're next Soph. Great flowing story too. Sophie you and those sandels. 🤬
Thanks guys! Ha yeah, you want to hear my impersonation of Duncan! I’ll have to start practicing my Aussie accent.
And I know!!!! Thought the waterfall was quite literally next to camp. Ha. Next time we go I wear runners 🤦🏻♀️ when I slip I’m not even wearing them, look closely and you’ll see how black my feet are. Gross. Lol 😂
@@IfNotNow and it needs to be boganesk like Dunc, as Mark said. 🤣 It was very, very good.
Hahaha, can you imagine Sophie doing a bogan accent with an English twang 🤔🤣
Soph here. Or do I mean Dunc?
“Ah nahhhh mate not the hommus. Ay stop using’ sa much sheila, leave sum for the rest of us. Ya don’t spread hommus like buttah, YOU gotta spread it like vegemite, go easy ya flamin galah. I spread it like buttah, cos I like hommus. Like REALLY like it. I like it saucy. So next time, buy ya own pot.”
Hmm 🤔 I do agree with you buying your own hummus tho (DS) 😘
😂Haha 😂😂😂😂😂
🤓🤣
Good video, how difficult was it to get a permit to fly the drone there?
It's pretty much impossible, unfortunately. Litchfield NP, was a lot better for getting a permit. In some NP around Aus if you speak to the ranger in charge they have given us permission to fly outside of the normal application process. Unfortunately it's a bit of a mixed bag and frustrating for ppl like us who want to capture some if these stunning landscapes hopefully in future there are some more balanced rules or areas within NP you are allowed to fly rather than these blanked bans.
