  • Hello CZcamsrs!
So on todays video we took a call to attend a Vauxhall Zafira that had got stuck on some grass, about 30 mins later we took ANOTHER CALL, to say there friend had got STUCK too!
IN a 4x4 Range Rover SPORT!
SO 1 simple job, then turned into 2 jobs!
IT was a good start for the discovery 4 to test the winching capabilities after the newly installed discreet hidden winch bumper.
Although I didnt pack my snatch block, WOOPS.
DISCO 4 is still a work in progress.
OK LETS GO and get the JOB DONE!
Thanks for watching! LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE ✅
    MR GDB over and OUT!

Great work, Greg. Don't think they will be parking on the grass any time soon!!!!!😂😂
Love your videos Greg. You put your heart & soul into literally everything you do:-) There are not many young people that do things by the book or in general. Your hard work shows in the passion & pride you have in what you do every day of the week without fail. An absolute GENIUS :-)

Fantastic work Greg.. Two GREAT reasons never to by a RR Sport. 1) they are about the least capable off road 4x4 ever on damp grass, and 2) they are nearly always owned by people with no idea how bad they are on damp grass! They are also nearly always badly maintained, with bald tyres and bad brakes. I've seen and indeed recovered many from situations like this. Full fat Range Rovers and Disco's were much more expensive for a reason!

There not much wrong with a sport, this ground shouldn't have caused to much of a problem. Though i can't argue with you about how they are kept. A set of decent tyres and someone who knows how to drive, ie don't on that ground. Think my Full fat would have got stuck on road tyres.

The range rover sport has identical running gear to the discovery 4. It all comes down to tyres and to much throttle

@@johnseaton1031 as a recovery operative of 40 years i can tell you I have recovered many on a rope/chain with a Hi Lux on factory tyres an Isuzu, a Navara and even a Transit recovery truck. I've also seen plenty of 2wd standard cars go where these wont. Only ever recovered one Disco which met its end in a river upside down. You could however be right... The Disco generally attracts more sensible people... Tbh i would much rather have a Land Cruiser than either car. Simply my personal preference!

@@coletorrens1121 I've had a similar amount of time, though through various clubs etc, both training and general running. I can understand you're like for the Toyota's, however i've been Landi based, spose what you know. I wouldn't have any of the newer models though, some seem to attract a sort of 'chave' appeal. They aren't the work horse's they used to be. I only ever carry a minimum of recovery gear while out, never found i needed more.

In terms of lighting (white spots) can't recommend the LAP Strolux range - unbeatable for the money. Serious quality and performance at very reasonable prices. Pretty much the same as Strands gear, just not with the price tag! A 42" double stacked lightbar would look great on the roof of the Disco, and/or a 22" double on the bumper/grille.

That range rover should drive out of there, all down to technique and learning how to drive it correctly, most people drive every vehicle in the same way, which works just fine on the road but not in that situation. Good job but personally I would use a soft shackle at the stuck vehicle end and not a heavy steel shackle, two reasons, one is no chance of damage to the casualty vehicle and two less weight moving through the air if something breaks.

Honestly that grass was both long, very wet and the ground slopeing. No place for a car and no way the heavy range rover on road tires had any hope of pulling out the car once it was on the grass.
To be honest I know for a fact my isuzu d max on all terrain tires would have be leaving ruts driving across in low box with good all terrain tires. I doubt I'd have got stuck, but no chance it would have had the traction to pull the car out.
