Really helpful
These are nice first time purchases for a family. I've tried the F701 and liked it for the price. It has a very balanced set of features and it looks great in the Light Oak finish. Maybe the exact model will have been superceded by now, but the 700 series is good IMO.
As usual, we get a very agreeable low-key presentation from Bonners.

Top ! If we play with our eyes closed on a rp 701 and a fp 30x, will you hear a big difference in sound quality when the technical sheet is identical? What’s your recommendation between Roland RP701 and Yamaha CLP735? And, F701 comparing to DP603? (I wonder why DP603 is still so wanted given that it’s an old model from 2016?)
dp603 has an upgraded action for one thing (PHA50). Speakers are 40W total and cabinet has a soft close cover. I like mine a lot... Might be getting dated, but has audio and midi BT, and tons of songs and voices built in.
What's the name of the melody in 3:40？It's so beautiful.

Is this piano much better than the fp-30x.
Personally for me the key feeling of the f701 is smoother and less "clunky" than the fp30x. I bought a fp30x for 2 months ago and couldn't get used to the heavy key feeling. I was informing about speakers which I can plug in into the fp30x because I wanted to build a cabinet by myself and the salesman showed me the roland F701. When I started playing that one I was immediately sold and changed it for my fp30x. It saids to be the same PHA 4 keyboard, but it feels different, in my opinion much nicer.
Nice review! I am wondering what it is with all these supercheesy string sounds in every piano nowadays. I have not heard one that comes even close to a proper string VST.

Digital keyboasrds/pianos today...come so far. As have "hybrid pianos". No longer do we hear cheap artificial sounding simulations. Back when these simulations sounded toy-like. Not sure when the TECH got to the point where it is today...where grand piano's sound like the real thing. Or so close that it's hard to tell the acoustic "real thing" of a Yamaha CFX concert grand from the digital MIDI version (or from a Hybrid piano)...unless you've played the CFX acoustic a lot.
Some how the technicians responsible for capturing the nuances of an acoustic concert grand have gotten this good. If you've heard a Bosendorfer grand you'd recognize it on an digital piano. So close to the real thing it should satisfy the casual piano player. Or even a pro who's practicing at home. Most true professionals would be at the studio anyway or on tour. No real point in having a $200,000 grand at home (annoying neighbours, usually limited space, no acoustically treated dedicated piano rooms...).
Plus for most families the ability to put on headphones and not be heard...is a major selling point for any digital keyboard/hybrid piano in the home. Something that wasn't possible before "good quality" digital keyboards/pianos came along (not sure when that was...10 years ago?). Before most had to rely on acoustic upright pianos...where you cant control the sound of (annoying family members and neighbours) not wanting to hear our piano playing at that time for whatever the reason). Still goes on...Ii dont think the average person knows how good digital keyboard/pianos are today. So much more affordable too.

You really need to get down to a shop and try them. I went to a shop a few days ago to try a Yamaha 144, Roland rp 102 and an equivalent Casio (can't remember the model now), the Casio sounded far better on person than it did in any CZcams videos I watched which surprised me, but not as good as the Roland and Yamaha, the Yamaha sounded almost a little muted while the Roland sounded warm and the best to me and I liked the key feel. But now I want to go back and compare the 701 and 164, reviews and opinions are one thing, but for the cost of these you really want to get to a shop where you can try them and see how they sound and feel in person, also leaning toward Roland as Yamaha only have an app for apple not android, and plugs in with cable vs Bluetooth on Roland which also supports android. I'm a total beginner and to now have been practicing on a 20 year old cheap electric keyboard, so compared to that they were all great. But you really need to go and try them, I was surprised
