    Without a doubt. the best demo of anything any time! As a professional educator I was very impressed with his rapport, his instructional modality (say it, see it, do it), and step by step approach. 5-star! 👍 I am preparing to purchase a digital piano…he sealed the deal. I found my piano. Thank you.

    This man is a génius! His explanations are short and to the point. So is his playing. Always véry interesting, néver boring! Tony is one of the bést! He deserves a raise in salary! Even better, he should be appointed factorydemonstrator!

    It's so well done Tony... lovable by all means! Good to hear those notes from Aaron Copland's fanfare to the Common man played by you.
    It's incredible how Yamaha responded to Roland's and Kawai's new products! They put a few things from Yamaha Genos, the CFX grand from the P-515, and the price of the P-125 -more or less-, and it all makes a splendid package. It makes an end-product you can't criticize!!

  • @izzynoahandsebastian7049

    After this demo, I purchased the DGX670. This demo showed me exactly what I wanted to know about the keyboard before purchase. Being able to create my own arrangements via multi-tracks was most important and that together with being able to hook up a microphone, sign along with the beat, and record to the keyboard got me sold.

    I tried this today and loved it. It might be perfect for me because stroke froze my left arm and hand. I need to find out if it can record the chord changes my left hand would play and then layer melody my right hand would play. If it can it would be an "assistive device" for hand loss/disability.

    I really like your demos. Thank you so much for this. It always depends on what you need. For me, this instrument again offers way too many possibilities, but it gives me what I'm looking for: good 88-key keyboard, good piano sounds for my taste, great Yamaha quality auto accompaniment. Besides saxophone and flute as a soloist, this will be my new accompaniment instrument for a singer after selling my PSR-S975.

    First of all, I want to thank you for your ability to play. I truly enjoy listening to you play, and I wish I had studied piano a lot more when I was younger to be able to do a quarter of what you do now. What you do with arranger keyboards is amazing. I have a rather old Korg PA800, and it's getting long in tooth. I really wanted a PA4X-76, but I'm going to be waiting to see what the new PA5X 76 is going to be like, but I can't afford it right now. Heck, I can't afford a DGX-670 right now, either, but this instrument is a true step up from the previous DGX keyboards, and I wouldn't mind supplementing my PA800 with one of these. In the U.S., with the stand and three pedal assembly, less than $1,100, truly a good deal for what this keyboard is, and I would be more than willing to recommend it to anyone looking for an 88 key keyboard for beginning students.

    A very timely review as I am in the market to replace my old broken EP7. I would be interested to see a comparison with the Roland RD88 which is top of my list at the moment. The piano sounds of the DGX670 are fantastic however, I thought a lot of the other demonstrated sounds sounded very digital. Thanks for a great review! Always love hearing Tony play and without doubt THE best demonstrations on YT.

      At this price point I've never heard a synth that sounds better. Admittedly the sax and trumpet are at times very synthetic, but all in all it's a great sounding instrument. I have one on order and look forward to finally being able to explore it myself.

    • @LittleRichard1988
      @LittleRichard1988 Před rokem

      @@JoeLinux2000 I personally like Yamaha's saxophone sonds and I think they are still usable in muic production as they are the
      same samples used in Halion which is a VST instrument by Steinberg. To be honest saxophones are extreamly difficult to get
      right on a keyboard so you learn to accept they will sound digitized no matter what. Although I have Halion I am hoping to go
      hardware and maybe buy a used Tyros 5 or most likely a Yamaha PSR-SX900 which basically is the 61 key version of this as
      I don't really have space for a piano style keyboard. The PSR-SX700 and SX900 also have a touch screen giving you better
      realtime control over the organ flutes sounds although with the buttons you can also use the jog wheel to more instantly
      change things but physical sliders might be better for the virtual organ drawbars.

    Not much I can add to all the kudos other than vehemently agree this is one of the best tech demos I’ve ever seen, regardless of product category. I am wavering between the DGX-670 and the Roland FP-E50 (there is a pretty good head-to-head comparison video on YT), but this demo may have clinched it for the Yamaha. Regardless of what I ultimately choose, we really are living in a no-lose competitive environment. All the major brands seem to be bringing the best features from their “pro” models into their mid-market products, and offering them at a killer price point. The “invisible hand” of free markets works its magic once again!

    So this is Yamaha’s newly updated product. I so it at the Guitar Center yesterday. I was so impressed. I have been looking for my next digital piano for a couple years while pandemic with my not so good digital baby grand. Music stores don’t have many choices but when I tried this DGX-670 I was sold. I was looking for the only one as close as possible to the acoustic piano. I didn’t need any other features like organ sounds or drum sounds etc. And this key action was not I expected but I couldn’t help but have to forgive it this one time. Checked all the YT reviews and decided I will get it today to end my journey for the one. I am very very beginner born again many times piano student , to me P-45 must be perfect but I like DGX-670 so much I am getting it. Usually when I Couldn’t decide which one I should take I would buy all of them but this one is superior to anything. I think.

    • @1spartacus1337
      @1spartacus1337 Před 2 lety +1

      You made a great choice.
      The DGX has the same action as the P125. DGx 670 can be found for about $850 USD the P125 is $700. $150 difference gets you far more piano with the same action. Only reason to get the P125 over the DGX 670 is portability. If it’s for a student taking it to and from school the lighter weight is better as the P125 is a thinner lighthearted piano. If it’s for the home go with the DGX670.

    Excellent review and playing! Thanks for posting this video. I think that Yamaha has a winner with the DGX-670. Even though I already have a Casio PX560, I'm seriously considering getting one of these as a backup in case anything happens to the PX560. Plus, it just looks like it would be fun, and productive, to learn and experiment with the DGX-670. 👍

      I'm trying to decide between the DGX-670 and the Casio PX560. Which one is better in your opinion?

    • @TheMg49
      @TheMg49 Před rokem

      @@musicmatters1114 I haven't got a DGX-670 yet. So can only comment on the PX560, which, because of money problems, I had to sell a while back. The answer to your question is that it depends somewhat on what you want to use your keyboard for. For me, it's making original (original for me at least) music, not necessarily for performing. All things considered, the PX560 is a fantastic keyboard for both performing and for original music production. If you can afford either the DGX-670 or the PX560, and you want a stage or performing keyboard, then I would recommend the PX560. Be aware that the keyboard action will take some getting used to. It will take some practice to get up to speed if your fingers aren't used to the fully weighted, hammer action. As for my situation, I eventually started back with a Yamaha ew425. Next one will be the DGX-670 because I'm just curious about it, and it has all the features I need. Then, hopefully in a year or so when my finances are better, I'm gonna get another new PX560 (or its upgrade in approx. the same price range, if that happens) because I really liked it.

    After watching this and many others over a period of 6 months I finally bought one 3 months ago and have barely scratched the surface. I have a tiger by the tail for the rest of my life.

      Our hi-tech society also has much to highly master. I too would like to know more than the somewhat cryptic although precise manuals included outline.

    One of the best demos I've heard on the DGX670. This keyboard is on my wish list to had to my stuff. I've been playing Yamaha portable keyboards for over 30 years. It bothers me that Yamaha doesn't solicit any input from musicians playing their keyboards. Helpful things to consider. A halfway decent speaker system that can handle at least 30 Watts. Why should you have to carry a PA to use this instrument for every gig. Also. If you are using an external PA it would be nice if you could shut off the onboard speakers. I accomplish this by plugging in a stereo headphone jack into the headphone jack to shut off the speakers. Why would you do this. When you play a dance and realize you blew your onboard speakers (like I have done). Yamaha has no process to get input for the players of their instruments. If you can pass this on to Yamaha Tony that would be great.

    I think it’s important to demo the computer capabilities with a DAW. With the USB audio/midi using a DAW is a piece of cake and syncing a VST to the DGX is almost flawless.
    When I was searching for info concerning the full USB function I found nothing on CZcams?
    It’s probably a deal breaker for some who actually would use the board for midi but may think the implantation is not there. I found even the limited ADSR on the board can control parameters in most VST’s.
    The DGX is more than a stand alone board.

      Hi do you know if we can export the accompaniments as midi data to a DAW such as Cubase ?

    • @PumpkinSeed17
      @PumpkinSeed17 Před rokem +1

      Minimal Audio interface info even in the manual, though mentions it's 44.1 khz 16-bit, and that there's a feature to enable or disable loop back of computer audio output. :)

      @@marcelcouture5373 yes, it can save and export ("backup") MIDI songs ("data") to a USB drive, which I believe you can then import into your DAW, though I'm not sure if you'll need to convert the MIDI to the MIDI-0 format, which is notably also playable on Player Pianos!
      "You can record your performance as an audio file (WAV format - 44.1 kHz sample rate, 16-bit resolution,
      stereo) directly to a USB flash drive. This instrument allows you to record up to 80 minutes per single
      recording.
      Sounds that can be recorded:
      • All sounds produced by your performance (Main, Layer, Left, Song, Style)
      • Microphone sound input from the [MIC INPUT] jack (page 77)
      • Audio Input Sound from connected devices (page 95)
      NOTE
      • If you want to record each part separately, or edit the recorded data after saving, record the data as a MIDI Song (page 68).
      • To record your keyboard performance and microphone sound separately, record your keyboard performance as a MIDI Song
      (page 68), and then record the microphone sound by using the USB Audio Recorder function"
