- We take the first boat trip of the season to our remote Alaskan cabin in hopes of landing "The Big One."' When that doesn't pan out, we get to work clearing a new trail for winter access and remove the old outhouse.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

It still makes me smile that the people with the remote cabin have an even REMOTER cabin where they go and unwind. Love your videos, greetings from 🏴
mee two!
I just said that to my husband lol
where they Live isnt that Remote. they arent too far from town and they have close neighbors. thats not something thats classified as "remote"
indeed
Remote to Alaskans usually means no road access. 😊
Omg those twin moose babies with literally the cord still attatched. They were just born. So sweet. Thank you for showing us the wonderfull wildlife.
The moose’s eyes 👀!!! Soooo proud and beautiful. 😍
We need to encourage you to place one of the twin newborns photos in you calendar next year, A.
And their momma can write ya off like a Datsun
I appreciate the fact you guys have decent language …no calling names or swearing at each other ! Bless you both enjoy the adventures you are living!
I’m sure this gets said a lot, but you guys really deserve some massive credit for your B-rolls, the footage is always absolutely stunning and I don’t know how you even find the time amongst the work, adventures, harvesting, etc. It’s very impressive.
Thank you :)
@@SimpleLivingAlaska You’re so very welcome 😊
Absolutely!!!
Their Channel is too underrated but gratefully it's gradually gaining more subscribers.
I get so tired of thumbnail pictures with that fake :-( and feeling like we're being duped and manipulated by Channel creators and it's such a turn off. Slap in the face that they think we're so gullible. Embarrassed for them to be so inauthentic and desperate that they think this is necessary. And how about those thumbnail pictures with the Home Alone face😱
The moose snaps especially cool, but the momma moose was best.
What’s soo great is the ability to change course in adversity is what brings me back to this channel. It is a pleasure watching you
That moose and her babies are amazing to watch.
No exaggeration. You two are doing some of the best camera work I have seen on CZcams.
👍
I was thrilled that we got almost a full hour and near the end I thought we were only half way through...MORE, MORE please like this. I simply love being taken along on your adventures! thanks so much!!
I can't work around the cabin anymore because of my legs won't work anymore
I get so incredibly excited when I see an upload from you two! It doesn't matter if it's fishing, farming, or cabin exploration in summer and winter, i love it all! And you two are so much fun to watch!
OMG the momma moose and her babies were everything! 😍
Awesome footage
An-hour-long video -against what CZcams suggestion of 10-20 minutes videos to help the ranking- and with ZERO-Ads, this is really awesome.
I wish I was up there with you guys. A southern country boy here at age 63, battling cancer for the second year now.
Been dying for 2 years and am still kicking. Ready to get back to living now!!!
Battled stage 3 Esophageal Cancer last year. After being removed it returned in my lungs. So battling Lung cancer now.
Your videos are soooo enjoyable, worth watching, and humorous at times in a delightful way!!
We are so sorry to hear that. Your attitude is truly admirable. Thank you for taking your time to watch our channel 😊 Sending our support for your recovery ❤
Does anyone besides me hit the Like button even before watching the video?
i do.
All the time. I also end up loving the vlog as well.
I do
Always!
An hour long video is a gift! Thank you! Loved seeing the ptarmigans feathers changing, and the spring babies! Can't wait to see what else you've been up to! Much Much Love As Always! ❤️
I love how well you guys take of your dogs :) a lot of people treat their pets as if they are so disposable, but you can tell that you really love and care for them.
I love how you guys love your dogs and include them in everything. A true family!!!
Love the intro. Again outstanding shots of wide life and True Alaska scenery. I swear this should be a history channel episode, as it is 10 times better than what is currently representing living in Alaska!👍😤 you guys knock it out of the park!
I have to admit, years ago I started watching for the journey, but now it's 50/50 for the nature you capture with your lenses and the journey. The opening sequence of this one was just spectacular. Truly, Nat. Geo. treasures. How did you manage to get them?
Lot of time :)
Its so sweet that your elderly dog enjoys your pampering. He just wants to continue to be included in activities.
Wow! That ride home was intense! Every episode is like an adventure with naturalists! I love learning about the varieties of edibles! Never realized how noisy ice flows are! As always the scenes are stunning! It means so much to watch! Thank you both for bringing us along! 🚤 🎣 🌲 🔥🫶🏻🏔

Scrabble player for 30 years here … zeet is not a scrabble word. 😁
I like the way you cut trees. Instead of just going at it. You stop after cuts and watch the tree for movement. Very smart safety move.
Hi guys! We have fiddleheads here in Northern Maine, too! I just made a cream of fiddlehead soup on my channel. I have a fiddlehead cleaning tip for you. Drill a few 1/4" holes in the bottom and halfway up the sides of a 5 gallon pail. Fill it about 1/3 full of fiddleheads. Hold it in a fast running current and they water will wash them all clean, with little effort.
My husband and I really enjoy your channel. Thank you! ❤️
Those newborn moose calves!! ❤️❤️
That was a rough trip back; I hope didn't get worse! On the upside, those wildlife shots were AHmazing!
The moose twins and pair of swans made me swoon. Also, the cabin looked great. --Jessica from Florida 🌞
I’ve been eating this since I was a kid and I’m 73. I have actually made my own Boston bread from scratch and if you like the canned you’ll love it homemade. The snow geese were beautiful thank you.
Your commitment to your love of Alaska , your love to one another, the wildlife and nature is awe inspiring. Never give up.
Pretty birds, and seeing the moose babies, just precious. ❤❤❤
I never skip the ad when it comes to your videos even if it's 3 minutes long. Big fan
This kind of video is better than tv ❤
- The twin moose babies. 😍
- “That’s what Smokey the Bear would do!” Of course he would. 😂
- The swans. 😳
- The peaceful feeling of the remote cabin in the wilderness. ❤️
- The foraging for such interesting edibles! 👌
- The breathtaking beauty and really, the entire experience!! 💯
Seriously, can I just come spend a couple of days with you guys and follow you around!?! I mean, it feels like we’re already best friends (even though I’m old enough to be your big sister... or your mom, I won’t admit which lol!! 🤣). Great job, I love your videos. You two should write a book about your whole journey and all the things you’ve learned.
Growing up in the early sixties, as little kids my father would make every Saturdays boiled hotdogs and B&M baked beans with B&M bread. It took me years to stop eating hotdogs and beans on Saturdays.
Sixties baby here. We had B&M beans with our hot dogs if my dad had a lot of hours that paycheck. Other wise it was just standard pork and beans. We always thought we were eating like kings on those B&M Saturdays.
Just waiting for you video this morning. We have snow here again in Colorado….depressing after such warm weather but we do need this moisture for sure. Your videos are so beautiful and natural. Love them always.
My 53rd bday was May 15th. It's kinda cool for me to see a little bit of Alaska and my favorite CZcamsrs on that day. Always stunning videos! Thanks for sharing 💞
Happy birthday :)
b&m bread heated served with real butter along with B&M beans and hot dogs was a staple with my family in the 60s and 70s. my parents grew up in the town where they were prepared in Maine back in the 40s. they have been around a long time and helped feed england during ww2
B and M brown bread and baked beans with hot dogs are a northern New England Saturday staple. Delicious! And nostalgic.
Your video editing which includes all the animals and land is breath taking! ty for letting us see Alaska thru your eyes. it really is a treat! National Geographic needs to see these!
I was watching your clips in a random order. You guys have captivated my attention and I am watching all your new and old clips during my free time. You both ROCK. So organized.
Growing up in New England, we had brown bread with beans and hotdogs Saturday nights.
“Well yeah that’s what Smokey the bear would do” 🤣 🐻
Always did great with a Johnson Silver Minnow tipped with a 3" curly tail grub at Flathorn Lake for pike. Your video's are the best on CZcams, so enjoyable and you bring back so many good memories. Thanks
So beautiful. There’s no way you could make me leave.
😂😂
I love fiddle heads with garlic and butter, oh my..!!
I love yalls channel so much. Alaska is the last state in the US where you can be pretty much free. I so wish to move there 1 day and just live. Every man dies, but very few actually live!!! Yall living
The pumpkin bread in a can is delish too, i get it at kroger
The way you show the beauty of Alaska is breathtaking. The moose babies were epic.
I'm excited to see how you can get those snow machines up this new trail to the cabin! Good work, you guys! May all this effort pay off in abundance in the near future ... :>)
Wow those sandwiches look delicious. You've done it again....I'm starving now.
Erik says "Look at this old, thing I found.." Haha! That old can opener is what I grew up using.. And brown bread is amazing, love the stuff.
I know, I have one of those OLD CAN OPENERS. They work the best.
We had steamed brown bread every sat night with our baked beans and Cole slaw. Sometimes with raisins in the brown bread.
I still use one just like it… lol
Living the dream of so many people (young & old) I wish I was young again and followed my dreams 🤩 👍🙏
Hey guys the view is amazing, love seeing the babies (Bo & Bandit) with you and finally zeet & zeep are actually nouns!!!
I just love all the nature (places and animals) you share with us. It’s so breathtaking there.I truly appreciate that you share these things with us. Yes I’m a city folk, lol. So it’s just wonderful to see all the things there that are awake! Bless you both!!
Fiddle head fern. Instead of taking time to peal and clean it. Next time, try to toss in open fire in a metal net. This method may help remove it quickly, adding smoke flavor to it and partially cooks it. Love your.
“You spit the fire 🔥 out? --Ya that’s what Smoky the Bear would do!.” 👏👏😂😂😂
Another beautiful and wild adventure--love the wildlife and the gorgeous scenery. You two are the best, thanks.
Thank you for sharing the animal, pictures, especially Mama Moose and her twins! Great video as usual!
You Two.....Simply The Best.....Luvs My "Od Man" & Bandit ......Try Some Rapalas' Lures....& Daredevils......They're Spawning & Protective....Good Luck !!!!!!!!
My first thought when you go off the boat was “you need to do something about your trail, too steep”! I was so glad you had that in your plans. Love watching your videos, lots of verity.
🤣😂 love the Smokie bear comment.
Thank you for sharing the awesome video of the wildlife, those moose twins were the best. You discover such beauty in nature on your vlogs, love it.....
Ah! A New England favorite brown bread!! We have a B&M factory in Maine. I haven’t had that in forever. Love your camp vlogs the most.
I remember eating canned bread just like that at my grandparents house when I was a kid. We called it Boston & Philadelphia since it's Boston brown bread and Philadelphia cream cheese.
Did it catch on fire?
Yeah
Did you just spit on it to put it out?
Thats what Smokey Bear would do...
Lmao!!
Beautiful scenery. Loved the wildlife shots.
I always wondered why you didn't terrace the orgional path to the cabin, like the new path too! Love to live vicariously through you guys!
yeah, like maybe some stairs, or some rocks placed strategically. YUP?
Takes time to do all that. They are there only a couple of days at a time. I am sure they have many plans for the place, it certainly has potential. My husband and I had a remote cottage and it took years before it was the way we had planned. Of course many changes along the way. We always felt very excited about our accomplishments each time we visited our cottage.
@@teresadaigle6991 Yes, not to mention the mandatory RnR and fishing that is required for each trip! 😂👍
It'll be nice for the unloading/loading back up come Winter...they sure got creative trying to make it easier last Winter! Especially the stove! 😳
The stairs would disappear under rhe winter snow. I had thought they might rig up a pulley type system but that too would need storage over winter while not there. A zip line down would be fun & a pulley line up. All requires extra gear being brought out and they still have shallow rapids to navigate .
Bumpy ride at end 😳
I have no idea why anyone would want to live in the COLD. However it's obvious you Lovely people do, so the Best of Luck to you both. Thank you for living out side of the Square and sharing your Adventures for me.
The wildlife footage you shot this video was marvelous! The twin moose calves, WOW!
Thanks, really enjoyed it.
Did Eric say, “Thats what Smokey the Bear would do”? (Spit on the chain saw to put out the fire) LOL
And swans? Did I see Swans?
Fantastic video...an hour of captivating wonder watching these two amazing people...and the puppies! This is my favorite CZcams channel (and I watch several).
Bushradical has a couple videos about building outhouses and it's pretty clear to me seeing that old junky outhouse you took down that he is right!: you need a plastic pee shield or else it'll degrade the plywood much faster than it would without. It cracked me up when Eric said "Look at this old thing I found" regarding the can opener... that's the same can opener I use! Not sure where I got it, but the electric can opener takes up too much space so I ditched it.
I agree with you on the hand held can opener. I too have both. The hand held works out quick at times than my electric one.
I have two of them, one was my mom’s I inherited! Works great!
Man, that Flex tape at Lowes works great for patching wader holes
Yes, Another Beautiful trip....so love that Wild Life and Food! Can't say I have ever seen bread in a can! I know people can bread...maybe a new show topic for the two of you???
ANOTHER amazing video.. and I could watch running water ALL day and never tire of it. It is soothing.. thank tou for sharing!!
I'm so envious of those greens. I would love to try those! Everything you two cook always looks so good! "That's what Smokey the Bear would do." Lol.
Zeet is not a scrabble word. Love the video.
Another amazing video in every way! The wildlife, the work on the cabin, the drone footage- all just incredible! Thank you for bringing this to us, I am grateful to experience beautiful Alaska through you.
Varied and fascinating
Eric waving to the cabin was heartwarming. 🥰 As always the nature footage is excellent! Great video..
I know, I loved that part. It’s hard to say goodbye to something you love so much.
Really awesome video♥️🌻🌄🌹
I love all that birch wood! I would be making so many crafts with that wood. So beautiful!
When I was growing up, my grandmother used to make baked beans every Sat. and she would make that bread in a No 10 can or two. She would make one bread regular and the 2nd one sweet with raisins in it. YUM, so good!!!! That was our supper for Sat nights and we ALWAYS looked forward to that when we went to our grandmothers!!!!
An elderly friend of mine used an old outhouse for a smoker. He said after using it several years that he needed a new one as the old one had lost it's flavor . He was a real character.
I absolutely LOVE all the beautiful Wildlife 😍 😍 😍!!! I was laughing so hard when Eric "casually said" we're burning the pooper!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Much Love from FL 💖💞🌴💖💞🌴💖💞🌴
I didn't even know B&M Brown Bread was still in production. Growing up my Mom would occasionally buy a can to serve with her baked beans. Thanks for the memories.
Cheers from California.
I envy the simple, Alaskan life you two have. You work hard, but make most things look fun. Living your dream.
Another journey with two of my favorite folks. Glad to see you all will have an easier way to the cabin to unload from now on. Bo and Bandit always steal my heart . Scenery shots were beautiful as always. Thanks for the ride.
Beautiful trip.
Love the remote cabin trips
Dodging ice is like dodging potholes in Indiana.
Amen!
Looking at your Dogs, it reminds me, that there is somebody for everybody. :)
I swear this is the only place I love seeing snow in May. Love from the GTA
A one hour video is such a treat!!! And, holy moly, how did you get so close to that moose and her babies?🤗
Your photography captures such beautiful scenes and wildlife…that moose w twins🙂! You had a lovely adventure. Thank you for sharing it w us. Susan
Watching you guys...many memories are coming back from my old good days camping and fishing in Patagonia.....Hard working lifestyle but so rewarding. I'm missing all those days of pure life and joy...
I loved the birds of Alaska.
Fantastic shot ! (When you threw the log at the stuck tree). Creating your paradise! Love it!
Yay a long video!! Looks like y’all had a great trip. Love how you guys get the cabin set up little by little. Your videos have also showed me that you can have plans but you can’t really have plans. Alaska will most likely alter your plans. Thanks for sharing!
Omg 😆 it’s what Smokey The Bear would do…. LOL
Thank you so much for the adventure.
It was so wonderfull to see all those Birds and the Moose with the little ones.
I got tears in my eyes tot see the swans and the Eagles. Really stunning. Hi from the Netherlands.
Can't believe, I'm the 1st viewer😁😁💖 (such a fan!).. Aah-2nd thanks to edits..
You guys have made such a great life for yourselves 💕
Wow,how lucky to get a picture of a cow moose and her twins.
I've been watching you guys for a few years and possibly my first comment, you're loved and envied, I live vicariously through you, thanks.
