My husband and I , along with our 3 boys, have been watching you guys the last few years. We live in metro Atlanta. We love all your content. Very educational and down to earth. We appreciate you sharing all you do.
Another Atlantan here 👌
I'm from the dfw metroplex. I'm so glad I finally escaped, except I moved to the other extreme environment... the very remote part of southwest Texas.
I'd move out of that dumpster fire ASAP

Make that three. Love the outdoors adventure here in Northern Georgia.
14:16 "Can I try?!" Eric, admit it, you were jealous of her catching tons of those fishies in such a short time!😂 😂 You guys found a hot spot for sure.
You are living the life I wish I'd have started 50yrs ago... At 70yrs old and considering my health, I can't start it now... The brain is willing but the body says otherwise...lol.. Wishing you both many many years of happiness together in the land you love... Greetings from Corona, Calif... I will check in with GREETINGS, God Bless you both...

I love how Eric is like a little boy catching his first fish. ❤️
So many great things in this Arielle and Eric adventure: catching hooligan, beautiful boat ride, bald eagles, mother moose and her twins, Bandit napping in the sun, Bo catching a fish, and (for someone who grew up in Maryland) Old Bay! Thank you for sharing your incredible life with us!
I’m in Delaware and I yelled oh yes when I saw the old bay 💗

15:00 - So cool seeing Bo catch that fish
Bo wagging his tail full of pride as he eats his catch 👏🏽 so cute 🥰
U know it's a good spot when even the dog is catching fish!
Here in South Africa we are waiting for the Natal Sardine run.
Move to Alaska this year, I’ve been watching your channel for probly 3 years, I can’t wait to practice more of the things you’ve taught me. The gardening is my favorite for sure
Hi do those fish have scales?
@@agapecollectables no, we normally just fry it whole and eat everything. If you’re not used to eating with fish with bones then you can remove the head and the main spine, the rest is crunchy. I fry them until it’s crispy. There is no limit but it’s best to eat when fresh.
@@things971 It could be that he is looking for a kosher fish, which needs to have scales. I could be wrong though.
@@miked1765 they could possibly have small scales but we don’t descale them before we fry them. In Alaska it’s called Hoolingan but Its also called smelt.
@@things971 we have Smelt here in the upper Midwest. They are absolutely delicious and yes I believe they do have scales. We fish for them the same way
‘Lady Luck’ should never be disputed😊. Beautiful scenery. I hope one day to see it with my own eyes👍
What a cool video! The eagles, Bo fishing and, especially the Mama moose and babies swimming across the river were all amazing!
Woohoo! You got to use your Old Bay! Making Marylanders proud! 😁
That was so cool seeing Bo catch and eat the fish.
Great trip--eagles, moose crossing the river, Bo fishing and tons of hooligan. Having fun just watching.
You guys sound like two kids in a mud puddle!! So excited. Eric you were so cute when Ariel caught those 38 and said “Can I try now!” I just live watching the life you guys live. Thank you
Very reminiscent of your trip last year!! Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you.
The cow was trying to break up the current, so the calves would be swimming in her eddy. That was quite a swim for them, glad they made it across. Love seeing the eagles. The one pair looked like a parent and their fledgling. It took some scouting and dredging, but you two persevered, plus Bo caught him a fish too😂👍 Take care Eric & Arielle .... now comes the fish processing .... but well worth it🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🦅
👍
We always look forward to seeing what you guys are up to and we are never disappointed and I don’t think I could say what’s my favorite part because it’s all amazing and I have learned so much from you guys. Thank you for sharing your life with us. We greatly appreciate you too
Yoooo Bo have you guys fooled. He ain’t old! He a supreme athletic specimen with amazing fishing instincts.
I used to fish the Naknek River at King Salmon AK when I was stationed there.
Full of Salmon and King Salmon including Rainbow trout.

Probably one of my favorite CZcams channels! For some reason I find your videos so relaxing they have been a part of my nighttime routine for about a year now !!! So refreshing to watch your channel! Thank you for these amazing videos :)
Your show is so exciting to watch. Thank all of you for my front row seat to an exceptional life. My life has been great. At 82, I’m slowing down and watching this great generation of couples homesteading, working hard and honest.👏👏👏
Glad to see you get into the hooligan. When they are running in the Kenai River, they look like a long continuous giant pencil lead right next tothe shore. One scoop will literally fill the net to the brim and it's almost impossible to lift it up it's so heavy. You could fill your cooler in 10 full scoops. Glad you found them closer to home. There are spots in the valley rivers way upstream where they can be so thick, you'll run them thru the jet unit of a boat.
Hooligan hotdogs with jalepeno mustard, rosehip ketchup and zucchini relish... Could be a $15 appetizer at a nice Alaskan restaurant.
The moose n d babies, what a amazing sight to see. Be a beautiful river n d wild life, awesome. May God bless d work of ur hands, good health n prosperity. Bless u
Thank you for scratching my fishing itch!
That looks like so much fun! I can't believe Bo just went ahead and grabbed his own fish for lunch! (How super-cute)💕 Beautiful scenery!!
I am enthralled by how behaved the doggies are. And trying to feed a wild eagle had to be a blast. Such fun!
Eating the whole fish reminds me of when I lived in Greece while serving in the military. The fish was called “Merides” and they were fried to help soften the bones so you could eat every bit of the fish….just a little lemon juice and I was in heaven for the whole meal.
The chopper moving above u is a another beautiful sight.
What fun was this adventure! I was so afraid the two baby moose would not be able to make it…good, attentive mom. Beautiful scenery as usual. 🥰❤️👍
That was super exciting seeing you find the thick spots! Awww that was a relief Mama and babies got across. So wonderful you were able to film that. I do not think I knew what a female bald eagle looked like. That was also very interesting. Amazing looking Hoolidogs :) And love those eagles just acting like Seagulls! This was a much more relaxing spot than last year for sure. hugs
I’m not positive, but I think it was a juvenile eagle. Both the males and females have the ‘bald’ heads. It takes a while for the heads to go white.
@@kellyheidel4337 Ok thank you. That makes more sense :)
Love it when you skimmed along the boat. NICE!
Love the sights that you show for us & THE FISHING !!! MISS MY SMELT TO EAT IN THE SPRING TIME!!!
Thank you Eric & Arielle for this wonderful video. We in the tropics can only dream of dipping our hands in 2 feet of river and catch wild fish by our hands! Only in Alaska!
I always enjoy when you tag us along with you.
I love how you're always so respectful of nature. You let the momma moose and her babies in peace so she didn't get stressed out crossing the river. Lovely!
“Im hungry” lost it lol
I remember watching last years hooligan fishing video, time goes so fast, loved Bo catching his fish ❤️
We used to go out as a family on the Cowlitz River in Washington and dip for smelt (what we called them). We would then take them home and have a cleaning party. My Grandfather would smoke them and that was my favorite way of eating them. You should try it, could carry them while hiking, oh so good.
Wowowow amazing trip catching hooligans & loved it when I saw u frying the fish and enjoying it 👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌👌
Hooligan is such a fun name for these lil fishies.
This was such an amazing video. Can't wait to see Alaska myself. My husband and I are going to vacation in Alaska because of you two.
My favorite part is when Eric genuinely asked Arielle “can I tryyuyyy?”
14:16
The moose and her babies were a delicate to watch. Thank you for sharing.
I'm in my 70s and remember going as a family to a local small bridge on the Nooksack river in Whatcom county Washington state with a big scoop net to net Hooligans. So many people would be there. Quite a festive event. People, nets and little wigglers everywhere. Those days are long gone. They went the way of the oysters hauled out by laundry baskets...People usually take more than they need of just about everything.
My husband and I, along with my son and his fiancé are planning our move to Alaska in the next 18mos. Seeing all that you do is getting us excited to build our homestead up there ☺️
please consider utubing it, would love to hear about your adventure.
@@bearofme We will for sure ☺️ Thank you ☺️

That was an amazing adventure, and a wonderful video. Many years ago when my work took me to Africa, we saw a mother elephant and 3 younger ones crossing the Zambezi River to get to a small island in the middle. They go under the water while breathing through their trunk then go under with their trunk, come up, and go down again. I was stunned how far they swam. A local had told us that the river was full of huge crocodiles who can attack and eat almost every animal who dares to enter the water, except elephants.
That's amazing!!
I am going to be honest I have a super lazy day living in Florida it's nice out but here I am watching videos, but when I watch one of yours it actually motivates me to get work done and tend to plants, because all your stuff thrives and works for you and I want the same like the garden my chickens etc. So I go out and actually get work done thanks to your working videos lol
The difference in the dogs personalities make me laugh!
One of the summers I worked in Anchorage I had a coworker tell me about hooligan. His family would just store them in buckets packed with salt and pick them out for snacks. Always sounded.....interesting but now I want to try it lol.
I was so happy to see that the moose and babies actually made it to shore. (Though I'm sure you would have edited it out if they didn't). I was so afraid for those tiny twins; you can hear momma's sounds of encouragement to them. Bo is the fisherman, Bandit is the pond contractor. So much talent in one family! Looks like a fun day! Thank you for videoing it when I know you were both excited to be fishing.
You two are your best cheerleaders. But my grandsons are second!!! How awesome!
I absolutely adore watching you guy's
What a great fishing trip! Scenery was beautiful as always. It’s delightful to see and hear how much the two of you enjoyed yourselves. Susan
Another exciting adventure you took us on this week, I look forward every week to your videos they are always so much fun tagging along with you both as you teach us and also give us some great laughs along the way. Never have watched a dull or boring video on your channel. Love when you all are in the garden either planting or harvesting. I have learned so much from you both. Love the channel
That looked like a BLAST, however I have to say my favorite part of this video 📹 was how you captured the Moose with the 2 baby ones!!!💯💯💯 That was so AWESOME!!!😎😎😎 Much Love from FL 💖💞🌴💖💞🌴💖💞🌴
Wow, no food shortages there. Amazing. Just walk outside and get ur dinner. I love it
I never get tired of watching y'all. You have WAYYY more patience than me fishing. Keep up the awesome content!
They look a lot like smelt we netted in the cowlitz river in Washington state. They came in from the ocean going up the river. They were great eating. It brings back fond memories.
Charles Brand yay for the Cowlitz Smelt! It is so sad that the limits are so small and usually only 1 day now.... but at least we have the seals and the eagles and all the rest coming up the Columbia to partake in the bounty and that's always cool to see.... my grampa used to take us all smelt dipping when I was young and it was a huge weekend event for us... and we all loved smoked smelt!
Yup same fish
very cool kids. enjoyed. cu ty :) hug
My favorite videos you guys fishing or hunting.
I really love fishing so I especially enjoy your fishing adventures! Seeing the Moose and twins was a real treat. Really glad they successfully made it to the other side! Another great video!
Arial, Eric, I love how you have taken the time to show how to dip net for Hooligans, then enjoy a Hoolidog afterwards. So beautiful with the snow still lingering on the mountains. So majestical the creature in flight to have no fear of a human. Loved the excitement of Bo catching his own snack. Too funny! The Mother Moose & her 2 calves made it safely across 100' of river. It was neat to see how she circled them to keep them going in the right direction & make sure they were OK. I love seeing what you see.
Nice to see old Beau/Bo out and looking interested.
Hooligan fishing 🎣 is so much fun even watching Bo catching some
Was hoping that Mama Moose and her two Babies would make it to the other size
THANKS GOD SHE DID
THANKS SO SO MUCH FOR THE WONDERFUL CAMERA WORK

Love watching your adventure trips! This was a good one! loved seeing how excited you two were getting when you started scooping more fish into the net
A marvelous outdoor adventure video! Just like being there in person. Reminds me of net fishing for fish called "smelt" in Nova Scotia as a teen with my Dad . The run was once a year with used potato bags as containers and no limit on the number caught. Similar to hooligans but maybe a bit smaller. Great treat fried crispy in butter ! Your video adventures are all so real life and very enjoyable. 👍👍👍.
Your videos get better and better,, super photography,,, at times I forget to comment !!! And the fishing ,, it’s awesome ‼️‼️‼️
Those fish looked so fun to dip and so good to eat can I go next year awesome experience 5 🌟 🤩 ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️🌟⭐️

So proud of Bo’s first fish . So proud of Bo’s first fish .
Seems like Bo would have been just as happy to stay home.
We love fishing. We're waiting until next month to fish for Walleye in Lake Erie. We also like perch. You really have some amazing fishing opportunities in Alaska. Can't wait for your salmon videos this summer too!
Nothing better than Lake Erie perch. I grew up in Ohio.
From outstate Nebraska...heading there in July. See ya there, tight lines.
@@ewidmer1 Awesome! And I agree - Lake perch is the best. We live about an hour from the lake.
I'm unsure if they're the same fish but I live in the Vancouver area of British Columbia and we have smelts...which look exactly the same (to my eye). I think these are one of the most delicious fish out there. We simply roll them in salt and pepper seasoned flour and fry them to golden brown and squeeze a little fresh lemon juice on them. We pull the spines and heads and fins are optional. Wonderful video. I'm happy to see y'all load up! ❤🙏👍
I believe they are the same fish :)
We do have Eulachon spelled differently in Vancouver in the Fraser but they're threatened species.
They are also called smelt, different parts of the state they are called different things, growing up in Bethel we called them smelt, I didn't hear them called hooligan till we moved into the mat su valley.
@@sararussell6182 Gotcha! kind of the way we call Chinook Salmon... Springs and our U.S. brethren call them Kings👍
That's so awesome Bo caught his own fish haha.

Bo was so chuffed with himself!! He enjoyed that fish. I always wonder if he and Bandit catch anything. Love ya'lls videos! I imagine those snow capped mountains are even more beautiful in person than on camera! My girls loved seeing the Mama Moose and her twins, we were rooting for them to get across the river!
You are both amazing people. I enjoy your videos. The Portuguese people salt them whole, not processed and then cooked over charcoal
The wildlife...the like...Alaska...!!!
The sock monkey dog sweaters are too cute!!!
Your dogs are beautiful. So well behaved.
They look somewhat like the smelt we have in the great lakes. We live by lake Erie and have caught them on hook and line, but they run up the rivers. We eat them at Christmas time, especially Christmas Eve with other seafood. Lightly floured and fried without the heads. Yum
So that's what Crocodile Dundee was talking about when he called those guys hooligans.
Right place, right time.
Great video & I love your channel 😃😃😃
